I used to live in Clearwater Florida, which is the home of Scientology, and I can state with authority that it's a brainwashing cult and money farm for the higher ups. To join, you sign a contract to give a percentage of your income for life.
Man from uncle is underrated. I think of it as a swashbuckling movie, like the pirates franchise or the lone ranger movie. If you just relax and enjoy it then it's a lot of fun
@@DarrenVanDam I liked the fact that after calling him Alex, you went on to say that you are not a big fan of Beverly Hills Cop. No sh!t Sherlock! Love these videos btw. I have watched so many great Korean films based on your recommendations. 👍
I loved Warcraft. Never played the game, was never big on video games. There's obviously a back story I lack, but I not only saw the movie and enjoyed it I re-watch it ever so often. Not as often as 300 or John Wick, but often.
Big movie buff here, and while I have certain critics I rely on from time to time, I've rarely found someone who's picks so consistantly align with my own. I love the quick and to the point dissection of short talk that give just enough away about the aesthetic, attitude and style with some occasional deep takes on a particular story. Keep it up, Darren. Love the channel, man!
The Decameron is an Italian collection of stories told by seven women and three men, while they’re taking shelter together in a rural villa during the plague. It was written in the Middle Ages.
Thanks for breaking the plot down like this. Sounds even more interesting as I have had an obsession with books and movies about the Black Plague and all the attending depravity it engendered in humanity.
You missed the biggest release of all for Star Trek fans: Netflix is releasing Twenty (20!) BRAND NEW Episodes of "Star Trek: Prodigy" on July 1st!!! Live Long and Prosper! 🖖
Warcraft... Life.... Jigsaw.... Big Daddy.... Beverly hills cop VI.... I'm here for all of these awesome movies. Can't wait to watch them all movie night. Love it already!!❤❤❤❤❤😊✌🏼✌🏼
"Reprising his role as Alex Foley ... " ... That's hilarious. You said you didn't get much from the first 3 movies ... yes, that's clear. You didn't even get the characters name from it.
American Psycho inspired you - loved the quick clarification. 🤣😆🙏 As a complete, lifelong horror fan I can’t believe I haven’t seen AP, especially since I also love Christian Bale! Definitely will watch it so I can X it off my list. ☠️
You forgot to mention "Star Trek Prodigy" season 2 coming first of Juli. Great action by Netflix just by saving this show from ending up in the Paramount bin.
It's crazy (pun intended) to think that Christian Bale almost didn't play Patrick Bateman in American Psycho in favor of Leonardo DiCaprio. Even crazier is Bale was cast first but the studio wanted DiCaprio for his star power; he accepted but then dropped out over concerns it would hurt his career as a follow up to Titanic.
Also, Decameron is an Italian medieval literature classic, so for those who are interested -- you can try the book too. Never knew it gets adaptation, thanks.
It really was pretty damn good. It kinda felt like Top Gun: Maverick. Perfect homage to the originals, and a decent story. Actually gives me hope that quality movies are still possible.
Looking forward to "Beverly Hills Cop 4" and "Vikings: Valhalla!" "Warcraft" is underrated, wish they'd have kept the franchise going. Gotta catch u on "Cobra Kai." And "Bone Tomahawk" is certainly an. . . experience!
I have to say I'm really shocked that you didn't like those at least first two Beverly Hills Pop movies?? I've seen a lot of action movies and I loved both of these movies very much. Humor, great bad guys, great stories, great action and I could go on and on! I guess different strokes for different folks! Love your show!! I'm literally sitting here trying to find a movie to watch! Thank you! Keep it up!
Thanks Darren once again for adding to my cinema knowledge. And you and your wife did a helluva job on your shirt designs, as a graphic designer I LOVE the bright colors! Keep up the great work!
I tend to pepper them throughout my lists but one of the best I've seen recently is "The Boys in the Boat" which is included with Prime here in the U.S. I also highly recommend Nicolas Cage in "Pig". The plot sounds like a setup for a John Wick rip off but it never becomes an action movie and if you love dramas it might blow you away. Also look for "Chopper" on Prime Video. Eric Bana's first role and it's absolutely bananas. Brutal at times though so it's NOT one to put on for a group of people.
the recent ungentlemany warfare was very good. The Man from Uncle is a rehatch of a early british series which one of my favorites shows. Take a look!!!
The Man from U.N.C.L.E. originally was a TV series that ran for four seasons in the mid 1960s. I didn’t discover it until reruns in the 80s but I recently watched all four seasons via Prime. I had to buy them of course 🙃but I really enjoyed it plus I liked that all of Season 1 is in Black & White. Somehow that feels so retro 60s and with Seasons 2 through 4 being in color it shows how technology was starting to make progress. It’s a good campy, 1960s TV spy series.
Hey Darren I love what you do and I really hope you see this message because I think you might agree with me when I say rather then telling us what’s leaving this coming month you should tell us what’s leaving the following month, 1 weeks notice I just find my self disappointed that I’m going to miss a bunch and I know Netflix gives us a months notice and I can easily just check in with them but it would be cool to get everything I need to know about Netflix from you in one video
For example transition in the august video you tell us what’s leaving august like normal but also what’s leaving in September so that everyone that is used to seeing what’s leaving this month(august) isn’t missing out but also prepped for the following month (September) and then in the September video you tell us what’s leaving in october
Darren, Darren, Darren... I'm a big fan of the channel and you generally align with my tast, but COMEON! ITS AXEL FOLEY and BHC movies are fantastic!!! Love ya!
Thanks Darren ,really looking forward to that wild South Korean horror series and the Scientology series. Yes that is a head scratcher alright about their religious status. Also Bone Tomahawk is beyond awesome. Highly recommended.. Keep up the good work
WarCraft. I never played the game, but the movie was really cool. I heard all the bad reviews before watching it, but it's like a bad Star Wars review, people just hate it because it's not what they want it to be.
This sounds like a lacklustre month I think. I liked the Beverly Hills Cop movies so I’ll catch Eddy Murphy and I’ll give Man from UNCLE a look just to support poor old Henry Cavill.
I think Warcraft was much maligned, but if you aren't a toxic wow "fan", and just take it for what it is (a medieval fantasy popcorn movie like the latest Dungeons and Dragons), then it's pretty good.
I never played Warcraft, and enjoyed the movie. It's not excellent but I've seen worse. I suspect you'll like it , DVD. Will be interested to hear your thoughts on it. Edit: Did you say Alex Foley? LMAO

The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is a fantastic movie. Great fun to watch! Sad there's no sequel. Would be fun to see more from this world.
One of the leads ate the scriptwriter, allagedly..
It’s excellent. It didn’t have a natural modern culture hook and was marketed badly. But, it is terrific.
I totally laughed out loud when the music changed and you went into slo-mo. Well done sir.
hey Darren...it's AXEL FOLEY...NOT ALEX

The Warcraft movie would have been so cool.... if only they had included a character named Leroy Jenkins

Dang straight.
Star Trek Prodigy season 2 is excellent. I finished watching it today. 🖖🏼

No disrespect at all to Christian Bale but DiCaprio would have slayed that role..ijs
Also, Decameron is an Italian medieval literature classic, so for those who are interested -- you can try the book too. Never knew it gets adaptation, thanks.
Watched Beverly Hills Cop Axel F today. IT ROCKS!!!!!
It really was pretty damn good. It kinda felt like Top Gun: Maverick. Perfect homage to the originals, and a decent story. Actually gives me hope that quality movies are still possible.
YEAH Darren!! What a great sponsor you have! Everyone deserves mental health care!
Most of these are already on Netflix UK and have been for some time, however i did forget about Warcraft so i will check that one out tonight!
Prison Break was awesome from beginning to end. I hated when it was over.
What a Gyp! I was excited there for a sec. Great video once again!
One of the greatest movie quotes from the 80's: "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass.... and I'm all out of bubblegum," Great shirt!!

You forgot star trek prodigy season 2. But that might just be here in the UK?
Thank you so much for making these, I work overnight shift and pretty much watch movies all night
Olive Pendergast’s plight in ‘Easy A’ has absolutely ZERO to do with grades. Lol. I’m actually shocked at how bad of a synopsis that is.

The Karate Kid movie Netflix added on July 1 is the Jaden Smith/Jackie Chan movie, not the Ralph Macchio/Pat Morita original film.

Netflix has become like the old HBO. They add a few new items & a slough of ancient one’s
Lost still hasn't appeared on Netflix
Thought this might convince me to go back to netflix, but not this month. maybe next time.
