These songs remind me of the old cartoons I watched as a kid. I never realized I was watching cartoons my grandparents might have watched before the movies when they were young.
UBI Werks Sound Cartoons are on RUclips (Disney 1920's).
Late reply, but I agree and that's what I was thinking when hearing these songs. It reminds me of the music from Tom & Jerry, and whenever that show was on TV at my grandparents house, my grandad would always want to watch it and I realise now it's probably because it would have been one of the only shows from his childhood that was still being shown on TV (he was born in 1938). Sadly, he passed away last year, but T&J and this style of music will always remind me of him.
Oh that’s when they watched them! I was wonde about that!
@@meg5323I'm sorry for your loss and hope you feel better. Also yeah this definitely reminds me of Tom & Jerry lol.

Agreed
It's a good way to reach back into the last century.
I love that Oogie Boogie’s song paid homage to jazz novelty songs from this era, Danny Elfman clearly did his research
@Cecily Erker-Those Oingo Boingo Halloween Concerts will always be the GOAT
Oogie Boogie was a very clear homage to Cab Calloway. The exchange "What Are You Going To do?" / "I'm going to do the best I can." is pulled straight from The Old Man of the Mountain (1933).
walrusgumbo Yes! I was really excited when I recognized that line!
I was going to "like" your comment, but couldn't bring myself to change your spooky number of 👍s. (666!?! 😱) HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2022! 👻😉😇
@@misfittoy327 Somebody did it for us.
Anyone else here bc they’re sick of hearing thriller, ghostbusters and the monster mash on loop every year?
And Halloween by helloween, good song but it's played heavily in this area every year
hahahaha never related that much to a yt comment, thanks!

I'm here because my grandma is flying past my window on her broomstick and I'm very scared. 🤡🧙♀️🧙♀️🧙♀️👩🦳
Generic_ Username Well it’s nice to know there are more options, plus songs as far back as 1912 (most Christmas songs they play the oldest they go is 1942).
But hey, we can listen to 100 year old dance songs, nice...
Also there are some songs from the 50’s, and songs by Lord Stuch.
This makes me want to throw a party just so I can put this music
No kidding!!! I'm just as into this, too. Now I have to find a way to blast it. It might be in my car but it rocks, still!!!
Me too. Too bad I don't have any friends
Ma. Paula Cortez we will all show up!
Yass imagine a roaring 20s Halloween party!
Heck yeah, that’s the kinda party I show up to haha
now i understand why those old toony characters were always bobbing up and down. this shit is catchy
Big band music was the best.
Definitely! Real instruments and real music!
This isn’t Big Band.
🤣🤣🤣
RUclips recommendations on point for once!
agreed.
I see the recommended gang has reunited
Can we appreciate how it is stuck on 666 likes
yesss
Don't lie. You totally searched for this
Look. We all agree (I hope) that vintage music is amazing with all it's little scratches and pops in the recording, but does anyone else wish they could hear these exact songs live? Just how did it sound for the people who made this music and the people who were there with them listening and watching them in action 😍
Oh yes! It would incredible to see them perform live!
@Ann Pommer If you were one of those people then I would love to hear about the experience!! :-)
Sounds like you need a trip to New Orleans, my friend! Most musicians down there, in my experience, happily take requests (especially with a monetary incentive) and are very knowledgeable in their jazz. They still rock the same instruments as back in the day, and often the attire, too!
I have wished to be in Victorian times so much - 1900’s -1910’s.
I would Think that, unlike music from the 60’s on, it was recorded Live with one Mic.
Im 75 yrs old and these tunes take me back! Wonderful!!! Many thanks!!!😊
Congrats, Sir! Both for living so long but also to spread your lovely music to the younger generation! I'm myself 25 years old, and I abselutely love music like this🥰😊
The fact that this spans three decades is cool. It’s really neat to hear the huge jump in sound quality from, say, 1913 to 1939. You can literally hear the technological advancement.
I live in a 100 year old house so this music really tickles me.
That's so awesome! If I lived in a century home I would be listening to this stuff nonstop! lol
I just moved into a 100 year old house! It’s so weird to think about.
You are so lucky! I sure wish I could afford to buy a home that old! Or even close to that! ❤️ 🎃
Oh I cannot thank you enough for this, now THIS is Halloween! As soon as I hit play my broom started dancing on it's own, but this music is so wonderful, I just had to join in!
Excellent, bruh!
Fabulous...and yes it is halloween!!
I'm obsessed with this music. I feel a strange connection to the 1920's...
It's called reincarnation: I have the same feeling strongly for the thirties.
I wish I could hear some of the performed live
Good thing is that society is crumbling so do whatever the hell you want. If I want to live like I'm in the late 1800s, you'll see me doing just that. Join me as we bring back the past.

With the Halloween theme, it fits perfectly. Pops, scratches and tinny decades old music from "passed" singers makes it haunting.
Goth music and old vintage music are the best for Halloween songs.
Banana Split Lady true, I think it’s been so long that for the average person from 2019 that any music from 80-100 years ago is eerie to us.
Plus Goth music is cool.
Goth music is good year round, tourist.
Dark Hierophant agreed
@@darkhierophant4914
Oh, definitely. It just also happens to be one of the best for Halloween.
@@bananasplitlady3045 Do you have any recommendations? I've been looking for some good Halloween music c:
So this is what all the hip cats are listening to these days
Mario, high-class Halloween conasouirs enjoy music that sweeps you off your feet, as well as Luigi's Haunted Mansion.
You are damn right!!
No shit
Hep cats are listening to it. Cool Daddy-O
That's Hep Cats!😜
Old Soul here, this relaxes me
You're not dead yet?
Jimmy Pop same
why are YOU literally EVERYWHERE?? ive seen you on all madonna videos on youtube, on other vintage videos from the 1980's, and now THIS one??
Ahh scratchy and lots of hiss. This is what I was looking for ! Real period type recordings. Put this on, light a candle and your tube radio, sit back in a recliner with a full pipe of Vanilla Cavendish and a glass of scotch. Be taken back to early America !!
@Hetalia steampunk fan says the fan of Victorian times
@Hetalia steampunk fan just because they like an era doesn't mean they agree with everything from that era. Or maybe they do who's to say, or care.
@Hetalia steampunk fan your so dumb
@Hetalia steampunk fan are you on your period? Your so bitchy.
Can I come over? :)
For me Halloween starts September 1st and Ends November 30 (:
bruh... summerween. its starts July 5th - November 30th
Once the leaves change and the nights start getting chilly..Its that time of year again.
I was born on July 5. :3

Love this! I'm a sucker for anything vintage. I found a lot of vintage Christmas music, but never thought of searching for vintage Halloween songs. A million thanks for these treasures!
Me too
You and me both. Stick me in vintage and call me happy
Almost a century later and here we are in 2020 still listening to spooky classics, who woulda thought?
2023 !!
2024 🎉 xxx
I can’t wait for Halloween, every October I start off with some Halloween nostalgia ads and Horror movies 🎃🖤 {can’t wait for 2019 Halloween!}
I have American Werewolf In London and The Shining in my line up so far. I have a playlist ready too. Favorite time of the year!
Halloween is an old Celtic holiday! It was the Irish who brought it to america!;) it was called Samhain! Pronounced (sow,in). In the 1300's The Christians new they couldn't get rid of the pagan holiday so they merged All Saints Day and All Hallows Eve together to form Halloween!;)) it was the Americans that introduce the pumpkin the Irish used to carve turnips!😜
Brian roger Broderick Exactly! Our Halloween customs like the Jack o Lantern, and so many more came from Ireland and Scotland. There’s a Celtic Halloween show in Los Angeles every year ... Celtic-rhythms.com/samhain
Don’t touch My butter yes Halloween movies and Goosebumps
black rose I love goosebumps
Until the last couple years I didn't know Halloween music was even a thing other than The Monster Mash. Turns out these scratching hissing little gems have been tucked away out of sight and mind for heaps of decades. When I was a kid I'd say "Lets put on some Halloween music!" knowing there wasn't any. All there was was haunted house sound effects CD's. Now I have these.
When I was a kid, this is the album we used to listen to,

Ana V. This is random but my profile name is very similar to yours lol
I'm here too. I'll always be a kid at heart, even though i'm in my 40s. I knew Ana was talking to me.
P.s. i'm happy to be the 31st thumbs up.
I started early July
I watch horror movies all year long. I also eat chocolate at least once every month. So every month is October (in my teen years, I was more excited about Octoberfest). 🍺🍻
A month into holloween
I swear old holiday music always captures the essence of the season so much well
It sure does. It brings me to the time when it was about people holiday open houses and delivering home baked goodies to neighbors on Christmas eve. Good memories never die
listening to this on a rainy Halloween night by candlelight and being transported back to another time lol
I "stumbled" upon this and love that you uploaded these songs. I like to ask people in their 70s, 80s, and 90s years of age what Halloween was like for them when they were children. Their stories are priceless.
Please share some!
I bet they got some fruit during trick or treating.
@@intriguedhistorian1171
Yea, because not everyone could afford store bought candy, but most of them had fruit trees in their backyard.
I get vibes of my Sonophone playing in the study as I walk around the house prepping it for a Halloween party that is to begin at precisely 10 o’clock. The fire is crackling in the great room as my sheep dog sleeps in front of it’s grate. It’s raining outside and I’m alone except for my maid and my cook. Tonight should go splendidly bar any..... unfortunate events that could befall my guests tonight.
And then there were none.
..
I love this. Is it from a specific story, or a scene you imagined yourself?
whateverlolawants Just imagined. But it was slightly inspired by the movie clue from the seventies.
A window to the past. We lift the vail and hear the voices of those who lives over 100 years ago, born in the 1800's, recorded in the 1900's, and shared through the world in 2021. Chills just thinking about it.
Some of these are over 100 years old... Damn, thats just wild to think about
o.o yes
@@nightmelody777hiatus2 trueee
Yeah, and it's amazing how they're still good and the recordings sound as clear as a bell after all those years. Of course, that's probably partially due to digital restoration. People should play vintage songs like this on the radio, along with the popular songs that always play during this time of year.
Who’s still listening in 2019?

Allison Franks Jesus it just hit me that some of these are over 100 years old

I definitely am! ..From November first until October! lol

I was today years old when I learned that "At the Devil's Ball" is actually an Irving Berlin tune! (From his "Alexander's Ragtime Band" period.) No wonder it's so catchy.
There are people that truly appreciate these vintage treats!
At The Devils Ball needs to be a Halloween classic movie by now
The good old days of Halloween.
I do miss them some times.
I've been looking for great Halloween music like this for YEARS! I'm so glad you uploaded it, thanks! Please don't ever take it down
Thanks! I'll be uploading a video of another 13 Halloween songs from the 1910s, 20s and 30s and move visualized versions of these songs in September and October. Stay tuned!
If you google search "how to convert youtube to mp3" you will find lots of sites that will produce an audio file of the music on this video. Then you can save the audio file, burn it to a CD or put it on your MP3 player or smart phone and have it forever.
@@60Pagoda No shit sherlock. Even kindergardeners nowdays knows that trick.
🎃 Happy Halloween and thank you for this compilation. I've played it in it's entirety at least three times via a hidden Bluetooth speaker in my 1938 Wards Airline wooden cabinet floor model radio. It lends a nice ambience to our 1901 built home. 🎃

I love these classic tunes. Never get tired of them, especially when the season is right.

Hello Betty
How are you doing today?
Well, it’s finally October, so I can listen to this without shame

Happy Halloween Everyone !!! 🎃🖤🎃🖤🎃🖤🎃🖤🎃🖤🎃
Literally Halloween is my life and i can´t wait 7 more months for halloween!
4 more months!!!!
The only Halloween music I will actually listen to!
I have been listening to this compilation for several days straight. I just cant stop. Skeleton Rag is amazing!
Sounds like a song Tom would sing ..from the Tom and jerry cartoon.
This is the perfect Halloween pandemic playlist. I’m sitting home in my costume and listening to this. I’m always looking for unique Halloween music every year.
You have no idea how much I love you for this! I'm a HUGE fan of the 1900-1950s and I absolutely adore the 30s and 40s. With Halloween around the corner, this is the dream!!! Thank you soooooo much!!!!! ❤🎃❤🦇
I'm a little early for Halloween but honestly I just need something to remind me of the good times last year when online school wasn't a thing.
I have to do face to face school and it sucks sm

Thank you, these are wonderful pieces of music. Love the stories they tell and the sweet melodies ideal for the social fox on dance floors at the time.
I'm using some of these this year to accompany my Halloween magic show for seniors !
Thanks for sharing !

That sounds so sweet! I hope it was fantastic
Always a treat and never a trick, to listen to these old time songs. Thanks for collecting them.
Great music to listen to when sewing together a long furby in the month of Halloween, I give 6 Jack o’ Lanterns out of 86 candy corn pieces.
Sewn a lot of frankenfurbies in my life and i second this

Halloween is my favorite holiday. I'm glad I found these vintage Halloween music from the 20s and 30's. I love these a lot better then those modern Halloween songs .
Marvelous job of bringing together some lesser known tunes! I love older Halloween records: even the surface crackle adds to their mysterious charm. Thanks so much!
Instantly taken back to my childhood and those old cartoons.
I’ve always been a huge fan of early American music, and 1920s/1930s Jazz but this compilation… literally the birth of two of my favorite things 😊🖤
i could listen to this kind of stuff all day
I return to this playlist every autumn. It is just as wonderful each time!
Hey me too
Today’s date...September 22nd, 2020....Yes, with this music, now I’m ready for Halloween!
Great music. Thanks.
Literally the beginning of July and RUclips recommended me this....kinda feeling it

And they still haunt us beyond the grave with their jazzy Halloween tunes i love it 😍🎃🎃
This playlist is the bomb. Quality music.
Imagine your self in a nice warm sweater, curled up in your bed or on your couch sipping your hot chocolate and enjoying the company of your cat, as it lays beside you purring contently. As you sit there you start to think about the month of October and all the things that it brings. The beautiful fallen leaves with their beautiful vibrant colors, the apple orchards with their delicious cider and cider donuts, the beautiful orange hue of a pumpkin and many more. All of these things makes you happy and content with what life has to offer around this time of year, and you think about this While you listen to your favorite fall time music and with the delicious smells of pumpkin and cinnamon that your candle holds.
Wow! Halloween fans will love this! Putting up my decorations in the rain and hoping for a good night!

I'm 83, where oh where has my life gone ? These songs really bring back memories.

It's that time of year again🖤
🎃Happy Halloween!!!🎃
I love the vintage songs thanks for posting these
I used to listen to these constantly and now it’s that time of the year again
This is perfect! I've been looking for some music to play on Halloween but didn't want to go the whole Monster Mash route! Thanks so much for this!
I've waited this long for this to happen.
It's October...
October again.
I'm soooo ready for this Halloween Month to begin!
Wow! Now that's something different. I'm 50 years old and I do remember maybe 2 songs on here.😕
I love it!❤
Thank ye for posting these songs... You rescued my dim Halloween from its COVID blues.
Thank you! I love old time music. My parents used to have old 78's that played music like this when I was little.
This kinda sounds like old mickie mouse music
Thank you so much for this!! This is so great ! Happy Halloween Spirit.
Love this!!
When Halloween was spookier back then🎃👻😮
These are wonderful! Perfect for listening to even at work. Thank you for uploading!

Thanks for showing the music my grandma might've listen to on Halloween. ( She was born in 1938 )
why do some of these sound like they're straight out of a tom & jerry old episode i love it
I read in a comment below about being sick of hearing the same old Thriller, Monster Mash, and the like. YES. That's why I'm here!! It's October 30th. We just had a snow storm here in New England, I'm making caramel apples for my kids and lighting my Halloween candles. This 100% completes the night! Thank you!
Oh man this is exactly what I've been looking for! Lo-fi at its best. Will be in the driveway sipping suds and handing out candy to this next week!
Love hearing The Devil's Ball because I have seen the old sheet music and its cover art is good enough to frame.
2022 anyone?
