- Hello friends! This is video 1 of 2 from my most recent trip into Amish Country (back in Shipshewana again!). I found some amazing grocery deals that I just had to share with you. I also share my Amish style lunch at the end! Hope you are finding ways to fight inflation too. Take care! -Beth

Thanks for this great video Beth! I just love it when you go to the Amish stores. I am just in awe of their prices! Being that I am in California, there is absolutely nothing even similar to that out here! I went to buy a Christmas tree at Home Depot, and the cost was $90 before tax (Noble fir was $109 to $190!!)! For the first time, I’m buying an artificial one. I sure do miss living in the Midwest! Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and thanks again for this great video!! 👩🍳

Rentown Grocery store in Bremen is where my family goes every July. We pick blueberries in North Judson while up that way. Here in my area, I shop a few times a year at the Amish store Jaytee's on US 41 S outside of Rockville. There's also an Amish Greenhouse with produce stand near it.
Those prices were great. What I like best was your dinner plate. The fried chicken looked so good everything looked real fresh. I wish I was there too.❤️

I was so excited to see someone else from Indiana do a grocery haul from my favorite Amish grocery outlet store. I go to E&S Market 3 or 4 times during the year if I can, and it's way past due for me to go again. Merle who handles my orders when I want bulk items put aside for me is so nice, a long with a few others there. They have great deals on a lot of food items which is why I like to shop there. I could go there with $250 bucks and come out with a lot of food.☺️ If you haven't already, stop by Yoder's meat & cheese store. They have a huge variety of farm raised local meat and their Amish butter sliced cheese is to die for. Me and my kiddos almost always eat at Essenhaus restaurant. Yes there rolls are so good. Thanks for sharing your haul and taking pics of the store.☺️
The years I lived in Middlebury Indiana I never did go to the any of the Amish stores. I did enjoy eating at Essenhaus the Blue Gate restaurant in Shipshewana and the Rise and Roll shop. I think my favorite place to eat was the Village Inn in Middlebury where I lived

The bowl and basket is the store brand for Shoprite grocery stores which are mainly in the north east.
I've never been to a Shoprite that I can recall. I will have to look that store up! Thanks & take care!

Thank you! I thought they were great deals too. That restaurant is HUGE. They do a great job keeping it clean during lunch rush. We made the mistake of going there to eat one year after the Shipshewana Christmas parade & tree lighting ceremony. Wow was it crowded. I think lunch visits are best. When is the best time to visit Shipshewanna? Christmas seems lovely, but are the crowds too overbearing?
Well... every day seems busy to me if it's after 11. Summer is by far the busiest season. I think shopping EARLY in the day is key. This particular Tuesday it wasn't as crazy as I've seen it. There was a lot more Amish shoppers at E&S. E&S and Essenhaus were both busy. The other stores (Forks, Yoders, The Patio, & Eash) were not bad at all. I think this time of year is the least busiest unless you are there for dining & entertainment (winter concerts at Blue Gate). Hope that helps! Take care!

The breakfast buffet is $11.99 for adults. Breakfast specials start at $4.99. I think the lunch buffet is $16 something. I just looked online and couldn't find it. You also get a slice of pie for dessert which I forgot to mention. There was also atleast 1 soup available on the lunch buffet possibly 2. Apparently I was enjoying my time out alittle too much 🙃 and didn't get all of the photos I really could have! Most of the dinners are $12 or so if you dont want the buffet. I seen the person ahead of me at Forks use ebt. I'm not sure about E&S. Maybe someone else on here will know! Good question!
