If anyone ends up getting this set, I highly recommend the bigger battery options, especially for the saw. The little one is fine for the drill and driver, but the saw doesn't last long on the little battery pack vs. the bigger 3 or 6 amp ones. The 60v 6AH Flexvolt batteries last basically forever, in comparison.
I have this set and you actually get more oomph on the saw with the bigger batteries. (And on the other tools). The 2 amp batteries are ok, but if you want more power, and not just longer life, get the bigger batteries and your tools will perform better. As for the flashlight, I thought the same when I got this set, but it is surprising how often it is useful having a cordless light that can stand up and point where you need light. I have used it to add light on the bandsaw and on the lathe.
I'm trying to get started in woodworking. I heard your story about borrowing tools and it gave me hope. I have a friend that seems willing to help me get started and I can't even begin to tell you how blessed I feel.
Matt, your enthusiasm, fun and knowledge shared is second to none. I'm a senior newbie starting out and my wife and I love your projects. Am I a lucky guy? Bless you sir and keep up the tremendous work!
I love DeWalt ! My husband has a set , and every time I charge the battery to use it he takes it . Someone will definitely be very Pleased with this set .
I bought a very similar Dewalt set (mine came with a hammer drill instead of a regular drill) and I absolutely love all of it. It helped me get my shop started!! The flashlight is kind of janky until you really need it, then it’s super handy! Whoever gets these will be thoroughly pleased!!
Got this on Black Friday (had an angle grinder, reciprocating tool and oscillating too) Well worth it guys Everything else tool wise I would get later as you build the biz
Hey, Matt. I enjoyed the review. All woodworkers get excited over new tools, don't we?? I regularly use a 50 year old Craftsman 6 1/2 inch circular saw and I love it. I much prefer it to my other 7 1/4 inch circular saws. It's so much smaller and easy to use and it cuts anything. I just checked my Home Depot online and the saw alone is selling here in So. Cal. for $129.00 for the saw alone, no battery, no blade. The saw with a battery, but no blade is listed for $223.00, so this assortment is a fantastic deal. If you're just starting out, don't but the DeWalt tools by themselves. Buy the assortment. Thanks for the video. Stay safe.
Hello, I messaged you a week ago on messenger about how I am switching careers due to a neck injury. I’d love to have that tool kit. I’m just a novice and just getting started. Your videos have inspired me to start a business of my own. I watch your videos for about 5 hrs a day since I can’t do anything while recovering. Keep up the inspiration.
What a kind donation! Been lookiing to upgrade from the ryobi power tool set I bought a few years ago. It has been great but pieces are dying over time. Good luck to everyone when the contest is live!
I just bought a 7 1/4 inch DeWalt cordless circular saw. And the power stack batteries and I got the quarter inch impact for free they’re all XR. 20 V. I’m just so excited. Feels like Christmas. I’ve been eyeballing them for quite some time now I just want to go cut some wood. Cordlessly lol😊
This is an amazing opportunity for your channel. Being new to wood working and still trying to look at and buy new tools that are needed. I see Dewalt everywhere and from other reviews I have read they are a good set to start with
This is the line we use at work. Plenty of power for the average user. You definitely want to get some 4 or 6 amp hour batteries for the saw. It's a great saw when you get a higher amp hour battery. The 2 AH batteries are nice for the driall and driver. It keeps them light and balanced, where the bigger batteries make them bulky. The 20v Max series as a whole is awesome. If you need more power from the saw, you should look into the 7 1/2" FlexVolt saw. It. Is. Amazing. We call ours Samson, because nothing stops Samson.
I can't believe how fast you're creating content. It's really cool that your hustle is evolving into all of this from a woodworking beginning. Your mindset and spirit of giving is great! When I first heard that you are doing some giveaways, I became excited. Then when I heard your comments on how you're asking people to give beginners a chance with winning, I became absolutely hooked on your channel. Like you, I feel blessed in the tools I have available and it's cool to see others grow. Keep up the great work!
Clamps: I've owned quite a few DeWalt tools and they are very high-quality. Rigid is also a high quality brand. I don't know if you knew it, brother, but Rigid is made in Israel. About a year ago I learned this and was pleasantly surprised. God bless you. -Rick, USMC
These items are on my wish list. I am currently running used power tools buying new as I grow. I'm on track to get my new set around September. Nice set.
I have a Dewalt 20V max compact brushless drill and driver. They are great tools. I also have a 18V Dewalt drill that is close to 20 years old. The only problem with that one is having to get new batteries for it or adaptors for the 20V battery.
I'm personally a Milwaukee man myself, but I do like Dewalt. But I do like the light on the Dewalt better. The three lights around the chunk is better than one on the battery end of drill.
The cordless circular I use on an almost daily basis even being brushless is no where close to a corded saw for rpm. But for versatility and ease of use it’s hard to beat a cordless that has a stud hook that you can easily fire up and then put back on the hanger without having to use cords. For doing a straight edge cut, instead of buying a track saw, I switch to the corded circular saw. Just provides a better cut. It really all depends on what you want to do with it. But for the extra money I think brushless is the way to go with any brand. More power and less juice comes out of the battery with each use. Great review video to give insight to those in need of a set. Thanks Matt for the content as always. 👊🏼
I got the impact driver, drill, and bit set as a house warming present. They are great. I understand the “ancient” circular saw. I got two for $10 at a garage sale. They work just fine, so new one for now!
MANNNN I'm just starting out, I saved up for months and went with a Craftsman combo kit due to price literally two days ago. I absolutely would've loved to have gone with Dewalt, this will defintely make someones year!
@@731Woodworks The Impact and Drill work well, don’t have any problems with them. The 6.5 Circular saw gets the job done, it does kinda bog down here and there but that could be more of a user error haha. Haven’t had the opportunity to use the reciprocating saw or oscillating tool yet. Flashlight is a nice paper weight. Overall I’m happy for the $250 price tag for everything I got
Hey there Mr 731 good of you & the donor to do this for your fans.i had a set that came in a hard case it had the saw.drill. sawzall.snake light and I think one other tool that I recall.i purchased it though the hardware store I worked for.great set of tools did a lot of home repairs and stuff like that but congratulations to the winner I know they will be happy to receive such a awesome set of tools. 😎👍
I own 2 of the DeWalt drills and I can attest to their quality and power. I bought them at separate times but both on sale for $169 CAD. Each drill came with 2 batteries. I checked later and the batteries by themselves are $129 CAD. The batteries deliver a lot of power and last a long time.
I have the RIDGID line-up myself & began with the hammer drill/impact driver kit w/2 4Ah batteries as a BOGO deal where I got the 7¼" cir saw as the freebie. I have not been disappointed. Checked the reviews before buying and while not the best it did very well against the Red and Black&Yellow. I believe you will have just as much fun unboxing and using the RIDGID saw. Enjoy 😀😃😄😁
I just got a kit like this, except I got the 9 tool kit. Such great tools for many projects. Batteries last, and you can feel the power when you use them. So much better than walmart brands, or porter cable/Ryobi
I have the dewalt combo with these tools plus the sawzall and circle grinder. Love it. Definitely worth getting the 20v flex batteries too. Can’t go wrong with the set.
Mannn I like this set! I think me cordless tools will be dewalt after all the good stuff you told about it. Love you videos man keep up the good content!!
Congratulations on 124k subs as last time I saw one of you'd videos you were at 74k . Again congratulations on the tools review and anyomius tool donor . Channel has made great strides then again NOT surprised with you content along with great addittue 👍.
I have never had luck winning any contest so thats cool you won something. I have been woodworking about 8-9mon and business has been picking up last couple months for me😁🤙. I am just using cheap tools from walmart and harbor freight. Making blanket ladders, flags, coffee tables, end tables, head boards etc w a $20Wen rotary tool off amazon, hyper tough $30 circular saw(w a diablo blade), hyper tough $20 drill, bauer orbital sander $25, ryobi palm router(black friday $49 home depot), kreg jig 320($40) & $30 worth of harbor freight clamps, i say the prices & brands bc you are right, you don’t have to have to top notch tools right out the gate. But it would be a very nice upgrade to win this. I would love an impact driver so i don’t have to keep switching bits, super annoying!. Whoever wins this will be lucky, my pawpaw was a carpenter and he swore by dewalt. My mom still has his dewalt drill from the 90s. They last a lifetime! He would be proud i followed in his woodworking footsteps.very nice subscriber to help you & your subs! That’s great!
Love all your videos man! I have been on the fence about starting my own small side business. After binge watching most of your videos, I'm now going through with it. Thanks for taking the time to make these great videos. Good luck to everyone for the tools and thanks to the anonymous doner!
That is an awesome set of cordless tools. I picked up the Craftsman set myself and a few of the yard tools that are part of the V20 system, nearly identical to the DeWalt 20v line. Both are owned by SBD now so the differences aren't huge.
Outstanding review and I appreciate your enthusiasm and honesty. Thank you to the donor! I'll bet that person will enjoy this video as much as I did. All of my best to you, I do like seeing your builds and I for one learn a good bit by watching you and others on RUclips.
this is the best channel, l have learned so much from you and wow this give away, have the basics now from Bauer. drill and impact, and older corded tools they were in the shop here l have rebuilt when l moved to NC and got married , it was a shop left over from their construction comp. have rebuilt a lot of the bigger tools but have been looking to upgrade to all battery, keeping my fingers crossed, building your farmhouse table now first big build. good luck in all and stay safe
I have the Dewalt drill and impact, pretty happy with it. If I could do it again I'd probably spend a bit more and get the brushless set, especially one that includes the oscillating multitool. The non-brushless set I have runs a bit hot and the battery life isn't quite what I would have hoped, but as far as quality, power, and versatility they are a great set, and not overly expensive as these tools go.
DeWalt makes excellent tools; both corded and cordless. BUT no other company has LIFETIME Warranty besides RIGID! This includes the batteries - for LIFE! I am sure you will make awesome use of this set, but happy you were a RIGID owner first!
I’m a young woodworker who’s just now starting out and i’ve been borrowing his tools on the weekends when he doesn’t have work. (he uses his tools on a daily basis so I can’t use them). It would be awesome to have my own nice set that I can use to start working every day and try to make some cash while i’m at it. Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I’ll definitely be entering in.
You really should get a tool set. RYOBI is a decent brand for the diyer and they are very affordable. The One+ system has over 125 tools that all use the same battery, and Ryobi has pledged to keep the same battery for a long long time. A 6 piece set is like $300
I have an older Dewalt 20V drill that has always worked awesome. It uses the older battery type. The battery is starting to fade in performance, though, and I can't find replacements that aren't priced out of the ballpark. I don't have an impact driver and wish I did. I have other DeWalt tools as well (corded router, corded reciprocating saw, cordless palm router) that I love as well. I put DeWalt in the same category as other higher-end tools.
When I worked in construction, we used Dewalt all the time. Good set of tools. Now I have mix matched tools, would be nice to win something like these. 👊
I'm glad your doing this. I won't be entering as I have a RIGID drill/driver and impact as well as a corded circular saw so I think these would be better off in someone else's hands. Wish you had the RIGID cordless circular saw to compare to that dewalt... I'm the same boat as you on circular saw in I have a very old craftsman my dad gave me when he bought a new one simply because he wanted to and it had a laser. I don't use mine very much but cordless is still tempting. I think I'll replace my RIGID trim router with a cordless though before circular saw as I use that more. So many tools to want, lol. WEN makes a spiral cut 8" jointer, I'd love to see that compared to your Wahuda... selfishly because I don't have a jointer so I'd love to win that ha ha ha.
I just bought a bunch of Dewalt cordless tools. Table saw, miter saw, compressor. I'm just feeding a hungry CNC and laser, not building furniture, so they should work very well for that.
I just madey first blanket ladder. Had to borrow tools as Mr. 731 advised. I can't borrow them as often as needed. But I thankful God opened that door me. He'll provide. Love your videos!
Nice! I have the old 14v Dewalt system but only the drill works and the batteries hold a charge for about 10-15 minutes of use. I would love to upgrade but it’ll be awhile
My other tool reviews here: ruclips.net/video/zrA7lIBOM-w/видео.html
What would be the best advice you could give a confused 20 year old?
If anyone ends up getting this set, I highly recommend the bigger battery options, especially for the saw. this is the best channel, l have learned so much from you and wow this give away, have the basics now from Bauer. drill and impact, and older corded tools they were in the shop here l have rebuilt when l moved to NC and got married , it was a shop left over from their construction comp. have rebuilt a lot of the bigger tools but have been looking to upgrade to all battery, keeping my fingers crossed, building your farmhouse table now first big build.
good luck in all and stay safe
Awesome. Keep me posted on the build progress
@@731Woodworks i will thanks just trying to improve this god given talent and a lot of patience :)
👊🏻
5Ah or 6Ah flexvolt battery would make a huge difference in the saw and impact..awesome videos man !!!.👍👍
nice
DeWalt makes excellent tools; both corded and cordless. BUT no other company has LIFETIME Warranty besides RIGID! This includes the batteries - for LIFE! I am sure you will make awesome use of this set, but happy you were a RIGID owner first!
Yep, that’s what sold me on the Ridgid set I got a few years ago. I’m not keeping this set. I’m giving it away soon. I just wanted to review it first.
Dewalt is awesome, my wife got me a new job Kobalt 6 tool set for Christmas! It’s works amazing! I learned so much just from watching your channel!
That’s great
I’m a young woodworker who’s just now starting out and i’ve been borrowing his tools on the weekends when he doesn’t have work. (he uses his tools on a daily basis so I can’t use them). It would be awesome to have my own nice set that I can use to start working every day and try to make some cash while i’m at it. Thanks for hosting this giveaway! I’ll definitely be entering in.
👊🏻
You really should get a tool set. RYOBI is a decent brand for the diyer and they are very affordable. The One+ system has over 125 tools that all use the same battery, and Ryobi has pledged to keep the same battery for a long long time. A 6 piece set is like $300
i agree with vince i have the Ryobi one + tools and love them
I have an older Dewalt 20V drill that has always worked awesome.
They are great tools
When I worked in construction, we used Dewalt all the time. Good set of tools. Now I have mix matched tools, would be nice to win something like these. 👊
👊🏻
I’ve been wanted to start my small wood working business, I’ve been saving up to get some good tools! 👍🏾
WEN makes a spiral cut 8" jointer, I'd love to see that compared to your Wahuda... selfishly because I don't have a jointer so I'd love to win that ha ha ha.
lol. I’ll certainly be making a wish list of tools to pick up and review.
I have Dewalt cordless tools in my shop and love them. Just got the cordless router and can’t wait to try it out. I could always use more.
Awesome
Awesome set!!
Love the channel I just made my 1st quilt ladder from the site! Love the info
Awesome! Thank you!
I started using the DeWalts for my charity. Good tools. As with many things, once you buy into a brand, you kinda have to stick with it.
Hard to get out of that platform once in, especially on cordless
@@731Woodworks true. I think our chapter now has about 40 batteries, 12 cordless sanders and another dozen drills/drivers. I'd say we're all in. 😂
This stuff looks awesome. I would love to get my hands on this to help me get started.
👊🏻
How do we win this thing? I must have missed it.
I just bought a bunch of Dewalt cordless tools. Table saw, miter saw, compressor. I'm just feeding a hungry CNC and laser, not building furniture, so they should work very well for that.
I love that you're doing this.
We are so excited to be able to do it too!
I just madey first blanket ladder. Had to borrow tools as Mr. 731 advised. I can't borrow them as often as needed. But I thankful God opened that door me. He'll provide.
Love your videos!
That is awesome! Congrats on the first ladder
Nice! I have the old 14v Dewalt system but only the drill works and the batteries hold a charge for about 10-15 minutes of use. I would love to upgrade but it’ll be awhile
👊
The magnet is a dream!!
👊
Don't have anywhere near this kind of money. Still gave a thumbs up. Happy for ya bro!
Thanks. Stay tuned. I’m giving this set away very soon
