As a resident of DC, this is honestly a great showcase of the city. What was odd and disjointed was your negative takes, and that they were all personal. Like all the effort it takes to make the videos, which I have no doubt, and doing a hard job in bad weather.
And you took the metro once?
Honestly man, you showed some of the best, local, parts of the city, while highlighting the lack of planning your visit. I hope you come again, and that your videos get the views they deserve.

lol I knew it would come off as a bad look but I wanna be real with y’all - I despise hot and humid weather (even as a Floridian lol) & had less fun shooting this video than the ones I did in the other cities I visited - where I felt like I actually naturally connected to people and made friends.
      Tom at Fenway Park
The Greek & Irish guys in Queens
      The Dominican barbers in Brooklyn
The retirees at the bar in Chicago
The Karen refugees playing Tekraw at the park in Milwaukee
      Etc.
Don’t get me wrong - DC is a very impressive and beautiful city & the people I met there were very kind to me (besides the d*ckhead in the Tesla who flicked me off) but this one just made me feel like a street reporter & I’d be lying if I said I totally enjoyed the experience
With that being said I really appreciate your feedback & wanna thank you for taking the time to watch my video 😊

@@adamjmatheson I def picked up on that vibe! Believe me, if I was outside in that heat all day, I would have been in a mood, too! And if you had stopped to ask me questions, I might of waved you off in favor of a quick path to air conditioning. Hell, I might have since you were right in front of my building for a shot (with the mural, near Chinatown)
But I get you, talking on the streets doesn’t work when everyone is hiding inside. So come back when it’s cooler ;)
And yeah, every city has that dickhead in a Tesla, lol.

I would say the problem is, most of the active communities you're probably looking for are in the surrounding Maryland and Virginia areas, and much of DC has changed in the past decade where more people have flocked to areas like Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda/Rockville, and Silver Spring for example

That’s right, but they’re not going to get the same experience in those suburbs. D.C. is a real city, and a great one.

Agreed, DC natives are very spread apart across the whole dmv because of the great transit system. Also recomend the PG county if he decides to return.

Crazy to see the baseball field I grew up near. Must of been one of those off days (probably heat) because usually metro is packed, streets are full, especially Georgetown sidewalks can never walk on, and block parties across upshur, and a bunch of tourists at the mall. But yeah lots more people indoors at bars, restraunts and stuff. One thing I think you got wrong was about the culture, from the video did not seem like you went really SE or NE. no immigrant came here just because it was the only place to go, DC is expensive, families and communities have been here for ages. I think you missed the heart of the DMV

D.C is a beautiful place artistically, if you look around there will be a ton of art and murals everywhere. You missed some hidden gems while you were there. You should invest in a tour guide.wherever you go if possible.

Is DC overcrowded and full of people? Did you experience that in Adams Morgan? I would love to move to Adams Morgan, but I get overstimulated very easy with tons and tons of people. If anybody else in this thread could recommend a quiet walkable area I would greatly appreciate it! I know I started this post off really stupid but wondering if DC is crazy busy when I know what it is. 😂😂😂 I would like to know if if there are any quiet areas that are walkable and safe. Thank each of you in advance!

DC is an ok city but pretty boring overall. I was born here and the number of people in the suburbs vs the city itself makes for a weird imbalance. I think more people in the city would make it more lively instead of being super dead at times.

Bro are you sure you’re from DC? I live in dc and it pretty overpopulated. The areas like colombia heights, dupont, 14th st nw, shaw, logan circle is very busy and too many people just on a random Wednesday at 6 pm its so many people on the streets to the point it gets annoying especially if you’re driving.
