- This is a review of LEGO Ninjago set 71814 Tournament Temple City! This set was sent to me by LEGO for review, and officially releases on June 1st, 2024. Boys and girls aged 14+ can build, play with and proudly display the Tournament Temple City (71814) adventure toy set from season 2 of the NINJAGO® Dragons Rising TV show. This spectacular and detailed fantasy toy battle set for kids makes an impressive display model and contains lots of interactive features and functions for hours of action-packed playtime.
The NINJAGO temple built into a rock face features a 4-tiered pagoda, a bridge, a water mill kids can turn to move 2 battle platforms anda blacksmith’s hammer, plus falling rocks that are activated by pressing a lantern, hidden storage and a secret door. Kids can turn the temple around, where its open back provides extra play options and the chance to create fun little stories.
This buildable ninja toy for kids comes with 13 NINJAGO minifigures: Lloyd, Cole, Nya, Zane, Arin, Wyldfyre, Lord Ras, Jordana, Mr. Pale, Blacksmith, a Temple Guard, Roby and Bleckt. There is also an airship and a posable dragon toy with blade-style wings.

@@Mizo-Creeping golden power used to be light back in season 2, but more in a "goodness" sense than in a literal one like mr pale
YESSS FINALLY I AM SO READY FOR ALL OF THESE
This set is amazing but in my opinion the issue it has is that it’s trying to focus on too many things. They should have either made a bigger temple with less terrain or just terrain and small buildings without the big temple because right now both parts of the set feel a little small
The two unnamed characters on the portraits in the temple could be Blecht and Roby, but older, supporting the theory Blecht is the new master of time.
The dragons horns are similar to Rontu's, and one of them is decorated the same way, so I don't think it's a stretch to assume this is one of their students. I doubt their related by blood, bc their scale color is drastically different, but it's food for thought

Pale man isn’t the master of invisibility, he’s the master of light
IMO the Statue and Drum modules should be interchanged when connected to the dock area. Second, it looks like the polybag set is a must have, as it will create a bridge between the blacksmith area and the battleground. Without the polybag, the layout doesn't make sense. Luckily the polybag will be cheap or you can just part out the pieces.
I could see this Tournament being some kind of "Rite of Passage" For Elemental Masters to participate in at least once in their lives if they can. Gorgeous set still.
I like that they're doing what the Markets did, including microfigures of ninja whose minifigures aren't included in a certain set

The Temple Guard doesn't specifically remind me of Echo Zane, but more so of something Dr. Julien would make (like Tai-D or the Juggernaut). Maybe the Temple Guard isn't Echo Zane, but just another one of Dr. Juliens creations that someone from another realm asked (or forced) him to create?

Jordana looks like she's from Nexo Knights which fits perfectly
Making a comparison between this set and the Temple of Airjitzu 70751 would be an awesome video to see. They are similar in so many ways such as the design, the (fairly) similar price point, and the overall build. They are only two temple sets (I can think of) that Lego Ninjago has done at this price point and unironically they give off a very similar vibe.
This dragon's wings remind me of OG dragons, they had foldable wings that were built on the arms. Whereas Zippy just had blades on his back, in the show he straight up can't fly

I think the nature dragon looks a bit like Rontu in another form, they don’t Really look much like eachother but the head and Horns do

I really enjoy the shorter blades that the ninja have now, I'm excited for the inevitable recolour in silver (disappointed that it didn't come with Evil Jay from the Battle Arena) because those would look perfect for Acronix's and Krux's off-hand weapon

Randomly I feel like The young guy in the picture is roby and the Kai micro figure might be coming as a new suit in DRS3
Lord ras armour piece was used for the crystal king in the crystal king set
If I had the money, I would combine this with young Riyu, the Tournament Battle Arena and the small polybag.
Shape of the dragon horn really reminds me of Rontu from Dragons Rising Season 2 Part 1.
Because her horn's shape resembles this dragon's one, and I can make a reasonable guess that this flower dragon could be relatives of Rontu 😅

22:00 I call them Dirt Suits because DR=Dragons rising and T= tournament. The I was inserted to make the acronym better
I think the "funky-looking outfit" aspect of Arin's new suit is such a key aspect of his general design sensibilities, though! Arin is the everyman on the team, the scrappy kid with no powers who grew up on the outskirts of Ninjago City and in the heart of the Crossroads. He's a plainclothes ninja- his original suit is just a hoodie and track pants with a cowl on top, and his new one is less ornamental and more practical, almost a "tacticool" vibe with its pockets and slim belt. This is a kid who makes up for an elemental power with a good head and a grappling hook, and I love that he's consistently been given "city" clothes to reflect his background and his down-to-earth nature!

Btw at 7:00 the mech fingers in red is not a new color for that piece it also has been in Iron Spider-Man and Sea Animals sets

despite not changing the set much, if the tournament temple city is in the wildness, meaning it shares its home with chima, I am much more likely to buy it becuase it will be like the UCS/Expensive/Massive chima set that I always wanted!

I think that the wolf armour is backwards on cinder, so that the fur can be used as wisps to flow into his smokey arm.

I love this new Ninjago designer. Makes me want almost ever set, typically Ninjago waves have me like one thats what i really like and the others are eh, but these past 3? or 4? dragons rising waves are fantastic

Actually we have seen a nature dragon. Bolobo's element dragon in season 4 was a nature dragon since he is the element master of nature.

Except there isn’t a source dragon of nature, BoloBo most likely belongs to the source or “life”. That makes the most sense
