😮 If the NRL brains trust had any idea of what they should be aiming for they would have had comprehensive talks with the best high school/college scouts in the USA. Having identified some raw talent that isn't progressing to college level then Joey & Freddy could have run them through a week's intensive training course & see what eventuated. There must be talent there that slips through the cracks it's a no brainer as there are so many participants at high school level. The best way into the US football fans hearts is to show them great stories of US guys from backwater towns making it in OZ , that will highlight the game immensely!! It's a process to work out visa's , educational opportunities etc but If the NRL identifies 3 or 4 above average talents a year we suddenly have a new player pool . Not rocket science just common sense.

The revenue available to the NRL if they can get our game on mainstream Fox is massive and worth going after. It would allow us to develop all areas beyond what we do now. American football fans will embrace NRL on a similar level that we embrace NFL, it's in their off season & fills a void, packaged the right way NRL will be a winner and put us in a powerful position for the future .

This is a Vlandys vanity project of ever there was one. I'd love to be proven wrong, but for as badly as rugby union has been managed in Australia, they have had the right idea on expansion the past 20 plus years
His footwork at the line is so good, I don't think I've seen a prop beat so many tackles on the line, if he isn't the best prop he's 2nd. Him and Haas, daylight 3rd.

If the roosters go far, Teddy has to play well, Smith also but Keary is the key. When they were right up there he was pulling the strings. Great running game while managing the game very well, he's one of the few halves that can win a comp. I hate the roosters so I hope they don't win but I like the way he plays, I really hope he's over those head knocks, they're awful.

It's amazing how quickly penrith get written off every year... Even after winning the prem 3x in a row. No one knows more than them what is required to win. No team has been able to back up the losses they have had to back up. Will it be tougher? Sure, but to completely write them off is low key disrespectful.
I know it was only a trial, but they played a reserve grade Manly team and really struggled to put them away. That's just part of the reason why I actually think Brisbane will beat them pretty easily.
