Nice video, I am quite a technical person and help people optimise various things, Another common thing I see is people saying that using the lowest graphical settings will always be better, which isn't true. I'll give some examples that mainly apply to performance mode: Texture Quality: due to the nature of how rasterization works, the resolution of a texture does not impact how fast the rasterizer can sample a texture's color at specific coordinates per pixel. Texture quality only matters if you are severely vram or memory bandwidth constrained, which could result in hitches due to swapping View distance: view distance makes a very minimal impact to performance from my testing, and having a lower view distance can put you at a disadvantage for 3 main reasons, first one being not being able to see items and player builds from further away. You should always maximise how much player activity you can see to be fully aware of your surroundings. Second one is stability, a lower view distance means more pop-in when moving, which would destabilise performance as objects are being loaded and unloaded more often. third one being distractions, the more frequent pop-in can distract you as you are always looking for small movements in your environment in a game like fortnite. This is why I personally prefer to use maximum texture quality and view distance on performance mode. The game looks Better and barely comes with any performance differences. Capping your fps is also not needed if you constantly maintain a higher framerate than your monitor can output, differences in frame times are barely noticeable, and with nvidia reflex, the render queue doesn't exist, so keeping it uncapped will give you a better average latency.
@@Furzide Yes, well, it should be clear that all the post-processing and co takes up performance. But I wasn't sure about view distance and texture quality, thanks for the quick reply
So I tested some settings, and while some may work as in increase your gpu utilization, it won’t increase it any further if it’s maxed already. In my case, using the win32 separator and disabling Xbox game bar tripled my fps from 100-120 to 300 fps maximum, with an average of 260 fps.
This boost made it possible for me to enable rtx too, running at 60 fps stable up to 80 fps with virtual nano and everything on to medium with zero stutter, which used to happen alot before even with these disabled.
I didn’t see any improvement in the Witcher 3 thought, because the gpu utilization was already maxed. Goes to show you how badly optimized Fortnite really is.
My go to is always mantaining my latency the same in every game, since I own a laptop with gsync I usually run vsync also on and cap my fps depending on the game. These guides are sometimes full of myths and I also noticed that it depends a lot on your PC, for example blurbusters would recommend to use vsync from the nvcp but in my case I found only using fastsync from the nvcp in osu and vsync from the nvcm in geometry dash, on fortnite I use the in-game vsync. I think people focussing solely on fps can sometimes be damaging because a lot of the times it comes from the era where csgo would ran at like 5000 fps while modern games won't and now we know that latency is more important than higher fps

I feel like i could make a video about optimizing your pc cause to get to a stable 100 fps i did so much stuff with an actual explanation.
Great video, I loved it. I agreed with you for the most part of the video but the ItsJerian video actually helped me improve my fps by a lot. I don't know which settings did because I just did most of them but they did. I think it might be different depending on the specs you have.
If you're trying to get more stable fps in fortnite, then try enabling game mode and hardware accelerated gpu scheduling (aka hags for short) because when i enabled both of them, i noticed that my game felt way smoother than before, but it honestly depends on what specs you have. Btw i have a 4060 ti, amd ryzen 7 7700x and 64gb 5600mhz ram
Optimizations work, just all these people who make utility softwares saying they have “new” tweaks just lie lol. Literally everyone uses the same tweaks maybe someone will have 1 different setting or value but that’s it.
i agree optimization stuff without knowing what your doing can break your system. I had tweaked my pc with exm, hone, xilly, and other garbo placebo stuff and always my performance on stock windows manually tweaked by me had better fps. im my experience (facts) Rainbow Six Siege benchmark all settings same for each benchmark. Stock windows 11 : 320 fps avg Optimized win11 (atlas, hone, xilly, other garbage) : 250 fps avg. Stock Win11 with some minor tweaks by me : 360fps avg.
Finally these people who know absolutely nothing get exposed. If you guys actually want performance then consider getting a tweaker to do it for you. Especially ones that work with pros. Most RUclips or other guides can help but can also harm you depending on your hardware. So blindly following a tutorial without knowing what youre doing is not recommended. A tweaker will know this stuff and optimise your system depending on your circumstances.
also, XMP will more likely than not make your PC bluescreen. i havent looked into it much, but every PC ive had where i enabled XMP started having insane issues. it really sucks not being able to crank my RAM as fast as im supposed to, but id rather have a working PC
you're probably trying to run the ram faster than it's supposed to go, when I enabled xmp I set the dram to 4000 when it could only go to 3600, it blue screened every time I tried to run it
Ok I get some of your points but then again, some of these may not effect fps but they definitely effect input delay and the feel of your game I have tweaked for a long time and I see what you mean in some cases they basically gatekeep a lot of the actual stuff that helps and tell you the stuff that doesn’t really do much.
a way to tell the difference between good and bad optimization is to just see if the dude in the video explains anything, if it's like lestripez, where he just says "change this option to this because yes it will give you better fps" then don't do what's in that video, listen to the videos where everything is explained, what the option does, what that option changes in the way your pc works, etc.
best thing to do is to defrag ur hard drive if u still use one every month and stay over updated drives. If u really want better performance use a debloater like (atlas os + hone) and upgrade to ssd, better ram, cpu, gpu in that order
u can als trim ssds (no trimming will not destory ur ssd only defraging will, and u cant defrag ssds in windows only trim using the optimize drives thingy)
Some of these optimizations especially the ones in marrentm's video really help if you're on low end laptop or PC running on integrated graphics but rtx 3060 should run the game perfectly fine optimizations won't really affect
In my experience Dx12 has worked better. With performance mode it is a VERY inconsistent 300. When I have dx12 with all low it is a consistent 200. I do have amd tho so that may change some factors
i think haing hardware acceleration on is better in any app simply because it splits the load on both cpu and gpu so it will give cpu breathing room and less stutters overall
You right about everything but when changing the nvidia control panel you actually need to restart the game and it does effect your performence(at least for me)
win32priorityseperation does really work, but 16 can actually make it way worse on 90% of computers, 26 is the best and safest all rounder, you wont see the difference in fps but you'll feel it in latency etc
Obviously, these people hold no say an optimizations, but I don’t think someone who has latency Debug stats currently running in the background should be speaking either
Try using DX12 with all low settings as your rendering mode so it balances the load between your CPU and GPU. Performance mode uses more of your CPU than your GPU (you probably have a weak CPU if you're getting frame drops and stutters with a RTX 3060 Ti). In case you're wondering, I have an Intel Core i7-11700K paired with my RTX 3070. I have a CPU bottleneck as well and frequently notice frame stutters on performance mode (it's so annoying when I'm in a fight and my game stutters). I tried DX12 and had zero frame stutters since switching to it as well as consistent FPS.
@@YoVariable DX12 is just not a viable option competitively. I just upgraded my RAM & for some reason am getting major fps drops/stutters. I have an i9-9900kf & 2080 super .
the only things helped me was increasing my ram usage i watch a video on how to decrease ram usage and it made my game super smooth no lag and stable fps
It is better to optimize the operating system in a safe, efficient way that does not remove anything from what you use, not to sacrifice everything but the gadgets that you are never going to use. Also optimize your game to what you prefer, more fps less quality, medium fps medium quality, high quality low or normal fps, etc. but moving minimal or compromising things from the operating system that together make almost no change or none will make your PC difficult and strange to use by changing so many internal things, which are mostly just influencers' preferences, and it also assumes that we have the same PCs (with an Nvidia, with a Logitech mouse, with enough power to support power unlocks) is supposed to be an optimization because our PCs lag and because our fps is low, not because we want to add a few fps at 300 or more fps than we already have...
A tip from your new guy: if you use DirectX11/12 then you should enable upscaling in-game like DLSS or TSR to improve FPS since upscaling Boost FPS buy rendering the game at a lower resolution and scale it up to your monitor/native resolution so it can boost FPS and reduce latency.
the only fps boosts are ultimate power plan (you don't even need it just set your cpu freq to 100% and stuff) and performance mode on stretch res. I get around 90ish fps on my laptop which is 6 years old rn, as old as the game basically. I7-7500u, 8gb ram, 920mx, Crucial SSD (I forgot read write speeds)
Ultimate performance plan is really not needed unless your cpu won't turbo to your set core clock speed in bios otherwise all your doing is forcing your cpu to run at max frequency and voltage 24/7
The best way to learn how to 'optimize' imo is to learn from docs, github and discord and do a bit of trial error. I.e. read the ram oc github not ask 'hOw dO i OC MY raM?'
@@EvolvedAngelic For me the smoothness only applied after restart and maybe just a sign-out might work but the value needs to be quite high for it to make difference

Hey, great video, just wanted to say that when you make changes to registry, you must reboot the PC to actually finish the change.
Yea my mistake
New sub, would love to see more of your content in the future bro 💪🔥
Finally a video that deserves a thumbs up
Only CPU overclocking and DRam tuning will give you higher fps but DRAM tuning is pain in the ass
heya, quick tip on showing FPS differences, use MSI afterburner OSD to show it. It'll be easier for the viewer to see, plus you can customize things like power consumption, etc. Cheers
This video is a month old but thank you ive been implementing msi afterburner into my benchmarks
@@lecctron nice! just popped up in my feed, so I wouldnt have checked. only thing I can ever see being useful is reflex and upscaling lol, fortnite being poop
Honestly i used to watch these videos. They actually helped me a lot(i have a low end laptop with an integrated graphics card) but it’s true some content creators just say bullshit left and right. I feel like i could make a video about optimizing your pc cause to get to a stable 100 fps i did so much stuff with an actual explanation.
Ill try this again while disabling my gpu and see how it goes
Underrated ahh video 😭🙏
Great video, I loved it. I agreed with you for the most part of the video but the ItsJerian video actually helped me improve my fps by a lot. I don't know which settings did because I just did most of them but they did. I think it might be different depending on the specs you have.
Hey bro i just wanted to tell you that if you do something in registry you have to restart your pc/laptop so it actually changes😅😅😅❤❤❤
If you're trying to get more stable fps in fortnite, then try enabling game mode and hardware accelerated gpu scheduling (aka hags for short) because when i enabled both of them, i noticed that my game felt way smoother than before, but it honestly depends on what specs you have. Btw i have a 4060 ti, amd ryzen 7 7700x and 64gb 5600mhz ram
yoooo thx man u r mad underrated keep up the good work!
Optimizations work, just all these people who make utility softwares saying they have “new” tweaks just lie lol. Literally everyone uses the same tweaks maybe someone will have 1 different setting or value but that’s it.
Yea im gonna look at more proper pc optimizations from ppl that arent fortnite kids lmao
Super underrated keep up the great work bro ❤❤
Means a lot bro ill try my best
I used to watch these videos all the time in hope of getting better frames. Eventually I just upgraded my CPU and fixed all my problems.
i agree optimization stuff without knowing what your doing can break your system. I had tweaked my pc with exm, hone, xilly, and other garbo placebo stuff and always my performance on stock windows manually tweaked by me had better fps.
im my experience (facts)
Rainbow Six Siege benchmark
all settings same for each benchmark.
Stock windows 11 : 320 fps avg
Optimized win11 (atlas, hone, xilly, other garbage) : 250 fps avg.
Stock Win11 with some minor tweaks by me : 360fps avg.
What do you tweak on your system?
Finally these people who know absolutely nothing get exposed. If you guys actually want performance then consider getting a tweaker to do it for you. Especially ones that work with pros. Most RUclips or other guides can help but can also harm you depending on your hardware. So blindly following a tutorial without knowing what youre doing is not recommended. A tweaker will know this stuff and optimise your system depending on your circumstances.
Great advice
1:is adamx good
2:can you do a optimization guide
3:i have a plan with geek squad wat do i tell them so they can tweak my pc properly
Super underrated, keep up the good work!
I will try this tomorrow lol you showed a lot of videos I seen also got a sub and like 👍🏽
Some days of these tweaks are for system latency not just fps
Forgot to test system latency but i didnt feel any differences
it does not affect system latency.
good video, i subscribed and i am waiting for more videos about optimizations
Means a lot bro thank you
turning off location services do help, because it uses services in the background
also, XMP will more likely than not make your PC bluescreen. i havent looked into it much, but every PC ive had where i enabled XMP started having insane issues. it really sucks not being able to crank my RAM as fast as im supposed to, but id rather have a working PC
💀
if you have a 50 dollar motherboard or a shit cpu that is
@@snxwy1 fr
you're probably trying to run the ram faster than it's supposed to go, when I enabled xmp I set the dram to 4000 when it could only go to 3600, it blue screened every time I tried to run it
Core isolation is different from computer to computer. Some have experienced no change in their fps while others experience a huge fps drop.
Yea so i think the safe option is to keep it off
Ok I get some of your points but then again, some of these may not effect fps but they definitely effect input delay and the feel of your game I have tweaked for a long time and I see what you mean in some cases they basically gatekeep a lot of the actual stuff that helps and tell you the stuff that doesn’t really do much.
Yeah im gonna try figuring out what actually helps fps and ill test input delay next time too
unless ur on a potato pc these wont effect input delay
Power plan doesn't effect your fps but delay is so much better + core isolation enabled is more delay
finally someone talk about this thx so much
Honestly, using some of these actually helped me to go from 200 fps to 500. In creative 700-800 and im on a 3060.
This sounds so fake whats the sauce
@@lecctron the guy probably twisted the numbers, e.g. his lows were 200 and now his highs are 500, and it was averaging at around 350
@@lecctron Hone and stretched I think but some of the tips he used actually work
a way to tell the difference between good and bad optimization is to just see if the dude in the video explains anything, if it's like lestripez, where he just says "change this option to this because yes it will give you better fps" then don't do what's in that video, listen to the videos where everything is explained, what the option does, what that option changes in the way your pc works, etc.
This is really good to know. For my ultimate guide i definitely should be explaining each optimization
@@lecctron maybe not all of them, because i can certainly tell what some option do, like system responsiveness
@@lecctron you're also showing the end results, which is proof the boosts work, ppl like lestripez just say,:alright guys we're done, goodbye
best thing to do is to defrag ur hard drive if u still use one every month and stay over updated drives. If u really want better performance use a debloater like (atlas os + hone) and upgrade to ssd, better ram, cpu, gpu in that order
Great info i forget that some ppl still have hard drives 😭
u can als trim ssds (no trimming will not destory ur ssd only defraging will, and u cant defrag ssds in windows only trim using the optimize drives thingy)
I'd say cpu>ram for fortnite
@@Disco1211 it's just that CPUs are expensive And ram is cheaper and a easier upgrade if it on a PC with low ram or ddr3 ram

Great video!! I liked & Subbed
there’s a few channels that have good tweaks like khorvie tech and some of those tweaks need a restart to work
Some of these optimizations especially the ones in marrentm's video really help if you're on low end laptop or PC running on integrated graphics but rtx 3060 should run the game perfectly fine optimizations won't really affect
I actually got boosts on this laptop recently will post abt it
search jerryxoc and u wil have huge effect on impact on fps
In my experience Dx12 has worked better. With performance mode it is a VERY inconsistent 300. When I have dx12 with all low it is a consistent 200. I do have amd tho so that may change some factors
i think haing hardware acceleration on is better in any app simply because it splits the load on both cpu and gpu so it will give cpu breathing room and less stutters overall
HOW DO DID THE ONLY HAVE 1k LIKES. BRO IS SO UNDERRATED
This only had 100 views first day im rly grateful for u guys
You right about everything but when changing the nvidia control panel you actually need to restart the game and it does effect your performence(at least for me)
Ill keep that in mind next time i try control panel settings 🙏
powsr options do help, and after win32priority separation requires a restart
We need a Good Professionale PC tweaker on youtube
jerryxoc here u go he tweaks pro's
win32priorityseperation does really work, but 16 can actually make it way worse on 90% of computers, 26 is the best and safest all rounder, you wont see the difference in fps but you'll feel it in latency etc
Ill try 26
16 has less context switching means less interruption which also improve system performance then 26.
@@ronniecantiga5629Makes sense why my stuttering is basically zero now.
@@Gukaru if you want minimal latency and stutter than try 18.
Obviously, these people hold no say an optimizations, but I don’t think someone who has latency Debug stats currently running in the background should be speaking either
my frames drop and i get stutters too, i've been anxiously tryna figure out what to even do, I have a RTX 3060 ti
Fortnite is a CPU dependent game
@@Kiszak94 fr lol
@@YoVariable you are most likely right I have an Intel Core i5-10400F
@@YoVariable DX12 is just not a viable option competitively. I just upgraded my RAM & for some reason am getting major fps drops/stutters. I have an i9-9900kf & 2080 super .

the only things helped me was increasing my ram usage i watch a video on how to decrease ram usage and it made my game super smooth no lag and stable fps
Great video! Could you make a video on optimizations that actually work? Would be great!
U read my mind lol im working on that video literally as we speak
@@lecctron need help?
Bro said a whole lotta nothing
@@lecctron que
Average FPS is not the full picture, what really matters are consistent frametimes and input lag.
Very correct this is my first analytical video so i didnt know 😭🙏
A tip from your new guy: if you use DirectX11/12 then you should enable upscaling in-game like DLSS or TSR to improve FPS since upscaling Boost FPS buy rendering the game at a lower resolution and scale it up to your monitor/native resolution so it can boost FPS and reduce latency.
Bruhhh. Big thanks!
the only fps boosts are ultimate power plan (you don't even need it just set your cpu freq to 100% and stuff) and performance mode on stretch res. I get around 90ish fps on my laptop which is 6 years old rn, as old as the game basically. I7-7500u, 8gb ram, 920mx, Crucial SSD (I forgot read write speeds)
Trying ultimate power plan next week ill update u guys how it goes
Kinda similar I have 17-7500u, 16gb ram, 1tgb and a Nvidia 960mx I get 90-120 fps
Ultimate performance plan is really not needed unless your cpu won't turbo to your set core clock speed in bios otherwise all your doing is forcing your cpu to run at max frequency and voltage 24/7
TY. If you have better Optimization from you then make a video. Its helpful
thank you so much for clarifying :)
The best way to learn how to 'optimize' imo is to learn from docs, github and discord and do a bit of trial error. I.e. read the ram oc github not ask 'hOw dO i OC MY raM?'
I swear, all of the people that make these "optimization" videos have the most overkill specs and don't need any optimization.
On my old Pc, disabling game bar gave me like 80 to 120 more fps. on my current pc, it makes no diff
notifications off helps because it uses hardware acceleration which kills fps
I subbed dron your gear booster video
fyi xmp does exist on gaming laptops per manufacturer
Definitely very rare tho bc i havent seen it on the 3 laptops ive owned over the years
I agree, but doing regedits you need to restart for effects to be set
Yes i actually did regedits properly for my next video and got better results 🙏
The win32 priority separation help too, the best value is 2a (hex)
It actually helps rly much because it changes the service priorities and memory allocation things
win32separation reqs a restart and it's mainly responsiviness a value of 36-40 feels best
it does not require you to restart, it's a instantly applied the moment you set it to a value.
@@EvolvedAngelic For me the smoothness only applied after restart and maybe just a sign-out might work but the value needs to be quite high for it to make difference
At 2:13 when u disabled game bar your went from 160/180 peaking at 240 to 220/240 peaking at 250 💀
Fr haha wrote the same. A shame. And that is the first tweak and instant lying
Beacuse he was jumping out of the battle bus so everything was rendering. Gamebar only impacts your fps by 1 at most.
Call me cheese the way I'm grateful for this advice 🙏🏽
Cool video thanks a lot for testing them
4:00 the reason he says to do that is so you dont get notifications while playing fortnite and get lag spikes
