  • Impact Cratering is an experiment you can do at home to model the kinds of data collection you might make if you were actually studying craters formed from the impacts of objects from space bombarding the surface of planets and moons. With commonly available materials you will be able to measure crater diameter, depth, range of ejecta and appearance relative to the mass of the impactor and its height above the surface.
The written guide for Impact Cratering can be found here, bit.ly/SMAPSelectedLessons.
