- For sheer pageantry and spectacle, few motion pictures can claim to equal the splendor of Cecil B.DeMille's 1956 remake of his epic "THE TEN COMMANDMENTS" filmed in Egypt and Sinai with one of the biggest sets ever constructed for a motion picture.. The way he plays Moses is just incredible. Just look at the way he treats the tablets once God is done carving them, incredible work

I saw this epic movie as a 10 year old in 1956, It is STILL!! the greatest biblical movie ever made, I'm now 72 and it still resonates as a true miracle to all of the world!!!.

Fatimah Kwape The scene takes place when "Moses" is a young man, right after he discovers that he is actually Hebrew, and not the true son of Pharaoh, so desiring to identify with his people, he begins to work as a slave himself. The old man is an Israelite slave who gets stabbed by one of the Egyptian 'task-masters' in front of Moses that day. The Israelites knew that God would send them a HUMAN DELIVERER to rescue them out of their bondage. Also, no man can see the face of God and live, so it's obvious he was referring to beholding the face of this human deliverer before dying. The point is that God DID in fact answer the old man's prayer! Only he did not know that young Moses was this deliverer, (and at that time, Moses did not even know it himself yet).

The law was given to Moses by God to show that we all have a fallen sin nature. There is not a person on the face of the earth who can say I have no sin, remember it only takes one time to tell a lie to become a lier, it only takes one time to steal something to become a thief, it only takes one time to cheat on your spouse to become an adulterer, and the wages of these sin and all sin is death. But I thank God for his grace and mercy through his son Christ Jesus who died on Cavarys cross and shed his precious blood to atone for our sins....amen.

This movie was made in 1956....yet it tells this history better than many others made decades later.
This and the parting of the Red Sea is by far the best parts of this movie. I watch this movie every year on Easter Sunday as a tradition. I have this on DVD so I can see every detail of my favorite parts.

Cecil B DeMille's depiction of this point in the Bible is portrayed as good as it gets and hits the nail when GOD cuts the stone reinforcing his power. By the phrase "purely man", we mean that Jesus Christ does not have dual nature-that of a man and that of God. The Bible clearly teaches that man is not God (Ezek. 28:2) and God is man (Hos. 11:9). Christ declared that He is a man (John 8:40), therefore, He is not God.

Thus, although our Lord Jesus Christ was born of extraordinary circumstances, the truth remains that He was conceived and created, thus, He is not God but man.

The following verses proves that Jesus died as a man and therefore He is not God.
Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Father! In your hands I place my spirit!" He said this and died. (Luke 23:46, TEV)
So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, "It is finished!'' And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit. (John 19:30, NKJV)
Then the dust will return to the earth as it was, And the spirit will return to God who gave it. (Eccle. 12:7, NKJV)
The fact that when Jesus died He placed and gave up His spirit to God the Father is proof enough that He died as a man, because when a man dies his spirit will return to God who gave it. Thus, the very fact that Jesus died as a man is undeniable proof that He is not God, because God is immortal (I TRim. 1:17).

When I was a little kid watching and not understanding everything I remember thinking and asking my folks if that fireball hit Moses' face. Weird remembering that. Back in the 80s for me
Oh my gosh imagine being there to witness the 10 commandments being made.
It is a blessing. Oh that the Lord would appear and deal with His people and the great evil that destroys our children from the womb to the hurting faces in classrooms. Without speaking a word, the school fired me claiming I preach. Oh Lord bring your power so it's not just a movie of man has made.

What about “Thou shalt not own other humans...thou shalt not be cruel to your children...thou shalt not be cruel to anybody...” Where are those verses? Why are the first four so selfish and jealous? Why are all the commandments obviously directed to MEN...and none to women and how they can also covet a neighbor’s husband? (Because the writers of the OT were bronze-age goat-herders who made their God reflect their own views on women and children) Is this truly where people think MORALITY comes from? 😂 😆 😂 Also, why the goofy dramatic booming voice?? Does anybody truly see their god this way? Why does he sound so jealous and so angry all the time? Why does every single powerful leader that we consider benevolent and a tremendous role model sound NOTHING like this guy? This is the type of presentation you’d expect from North Korea or from Stalin or Mao. “Question NOT my authority...for I am the Lord, and Jealous is my name...and I will smite thee with a big ol’ smite...and thou shalt be SMITED indeed! Can’t you see how BIG I am???” 😆

For describing the Lord's voice in such a disrepectful way the Bible says in Rev. 1:15 His voice is as the sound of many waters meanings is deep and powerful the movie is trying its best to portray the power of God's voice n I think they did an excellent job in 1956..I pray that u gt to now e Lord we all r gonna answer to that voice one day
