I wish I was there to help you find the graves, I have for many years been able to find unmarked graves helping to restore old cemeteries. I admire you for your dedication in saving the cemeteries.
Sondra, that was such an awesome gesture. Lovely to have the cross placed there on Christmas. The “Other Robert”, my son and I placed wreaths on the veterans graves in our home town cemetery last Saturday. It was a very special event for us. Wreaths across America and we did this with our American Legion. My son is a veteran so it sure meant a lot to him. I hope all of you have a blessed Christmas.

Hello. It was good to see "the other Robert"!! Hope all are well. My fathers' brother Donald fought in Sicily and Italy during WW2. He is buried in Arlington. My father was an airplane mechanic in Burtonwood Royal Air Force base. The Americans, like my father, shared the base when they went over to England. He worked on the bombers. He and my English mother told me of what they saw. I understand why veterans and civilians had a difficult time trying to deal with that war. Very glad you and Cecil found and documented this cemetery. I really wish there was a way of finding out who they were. Thank you...🎁🎄🎄🎀🎆❤️❤️

awesome that Sondra sent you that beautifdul cross to mark the unknown grave of the once enslaved person, which were also members of the church, put there in and next to Phillippi Cemetery. Sad that a logging company, whom commonly do not care about forgotten cemeteries and ONLY care about the trees being cut down, and could care less about any markers. Great that you can get ahold of the church minutes of all those that are laid to rest out there, but such a shame that the uncaring logging company also distroyed or greatly damamged the graves there.
