enzoul2112 They tend to forget that while Nintendo is aiming to be family friendly, there are several other dark moments in them as well as some sexual content.
"He was given a tiny box." When the "Never Say Die" trope actually works, it really _really_ works. Seriously, wording it like that gets the point across so much better and so much more emotionally than just bluntly saying "his Pokemon died in the war." Poor AZ :'(
The first time I heard AZ’s story I cried like a baby. However, that last scene had my jaw on the floor because I realized the truth. Route 10 wasn’t tricky stone route. IT WAS A GRAVEYARD!!!

Pokemon X is the first pokemon game I've ever played, and my first ever pokeball was used on my level 46 Floette. I thought for sure that the scene was being rendered using my save data... Same here. I loved the concept of a Fairy type and wanted a gen 6 one on my team. I didn't think about the save data part, but the fact he had a Floette like me makes this story hit hard.
I never thought I would actually see a war in a Pokemon game. Given the huge destructive potential that Pokemon are capable of, the loss of life in one war alone would be massive. For example, a Gyarados alone can trash entire cities and Tyranitar is capable of bringing down mountains. Now imagine an army of those fighting to the death.
I can actually see why AZ fired the weapon. He united Kalos with his advanced technology, and made it prosper. Imagine seeing the prosperous region you built, your people be ravaged by war. Also his brother basically either meant to backstab him or was going to before the Ultimate Weapon was fired. And the Floette was the last gift of his mother. Like if his brother did start the war, then the Floette is a reminder of a happier past. And it just died in the same war. Like this man may have lost his brother to greed, saw his kingdom crumble. And then he is so consumed by rage, he just snaps.
Literally the best thing to happen to a story in a Pokemon game... The first time I played X I cried... And then I cried AGAIN at the end when he was reunited with Floette... I haven't cried this much at a game's story since Magical Starsign

I love the story of Az and how tragic it is... a man lost someone he cared about so deeply that he lost himself in his depression and hate to the point he comitted such a horrific act just to make everything stop hurting to the point that thousands of pokemon and people died in his wrath and in the end the being that he cared about so much was horrified by the monster their own loved one became that they chose to leave. Only forgiving them and returning when the original man was finally restored to the forefront
That it was 3000 years ago, presumably during the Kalosian version of the 100 years war, revives likely were not invented back then or if there were any alternative, it was likely to either recover from only fainting (100% success for fainting) or didn't always work, having a high or medium failure rating of it working, so even if used if revived existed back then it was extremely innacurate and not a reliable option, besides, I doubt anyone could make a medicine to bring others back to life back then without the aid of Xerneas (the literal life Pokemon), revival herbs and revive alternatives probably only worked from fainting because of that factor, there's simply no say without Xerneas or doing what AZ did, assuming he did not just find a way to trap the life Pokemon to harness it's power or simply used several sacrifices like how we see Lysandre trying to do in Pokemon Y
I cried when I first read this story. I cried even more when he floette reunited at the parade. I didnt think pokemon could get any sadder than black and whites ending with N but I was wrong. Like this was so effective, the way it played out, the artstyle for the scene, the music, the wording of the text. It was all beautifully done.
If you ever feel bad for talking back to your parents just remember that Lysandre locked AZ in an electric jail
lol
Finding out what those rocks were was really sad for me
Now with Pokémon legends ZA we will see this legendary war take place right in front of our eyes!!!
Genocide? It's not genocide it's defeating enemies in effective way and I made sure this plan going to be the most effective
- AZ
Ugh dang it, this game could have been so good. It had SOOOOO much potental...but they killed it with the dang pacing. >_
Don't like the pacing either, but the reveal of the stones being graves ? I felt like that was revealed at a good time.
Jack Hedrick
Yeah, I will give them that. They did do some things right witht he pacing...and that was one of them. However it seemed they tried to fit WAY to much into the last act...they could have spread out the story a bit more and make it stronger.
This plot just shows what the game attempted and nearly succeeded at being, but failed because of awful characters and pacing. Still great games otherwise.
The game was a victim of game freak's classic : Great idea! Troubled execution.
@@flyingstonemon3564 very true. I wish we got an improved Z version
As for a better executed Kalos story, I'd recommend "What pokemon Z could have looked like" by Tam Valley Productions. Great video. I was really glad when I discovered it
I'm thinking he woke up Eternatus and caused the Darkest Day by accident.
There are no accidents
This was my favorite part of the game!
Love it!!

Moment of ultimate sadness
Az: *accidentally splits the pokemon multivers in two*
Arceus:....welp.
I think I actually cried the first time I saw this. I am really hard to make cry.
This hit me so hard in the feels words do not describe; and if you didn't cry you're lying :P
Bros pokemon got drafted 💀
1:20 this looks oddly reminiscent of a Celesteela...
Just hearing the music again gives me nostalgia!! 😣
liek if u cri evry tiem
I wish they would make a game that took place during the war and made it where Eternal Flower Floette was the box art legendary.
What about make a Pokemon Game based on the past? In that war. When you can fight even 6 pokemon vs 6 (like the hordes but battling)
that would be awsome !
not without stronger hardware, the game can barely handle 3 on 3
I’m hoping Sword and Shield is like that
Happy 10th Anniversary, Pokémon X & Y.
Glad that I got this song from the official soundtrack at iTunes. Now if we can get a poster of the story illustration
Forever in my heart, most beautiful moment in Pokémon.
Y u no goddamn use the Max Revive -.-'
MASTER KINGS Thats only when pokemon have fainted. This one died.
A mass grave? In MY Pokémon game? It’s more likely than you think.
Makes me wanna cry every time
The great crater of Paldea looked kinda sus
Ayo🤨
And yes, I know the crater formed before the Ultimate Weapon fired, but could it have fired directly into the crater?
@@ericparazak8448 who knows hopefully we get answers in the next dlc speaking of which do you think kalos will be the next dlc?😀
Came here because I was thinking the same
i accidently played guts theme with this and it was perfect
Thanks, I didn't pay attention when I watched it the first time
I cried when I first read this story. I cried even more when he floette reunited at the parade. I didnt think pokemon could get any sadder than black and whites ending with N but I was wrong. I just wish AZ hadn't disappeared during the postgame. It was like he and floette fell off the face of the planet.
I was on the verge of tears
I swear if it's revealed if that ancient weapon created the Area Zero, or the great crater of Paldea. I will lose my mind.
It is impossible since the crater was formed a million years ago.
The feels ;-;
it all makes sense now, THE ULTIMATE WEAPON WAS CELESTEELA
WAIT WHY CANT I UNSEE THAT
amazing great description
Az "the giant" is amazon the machine that gave life is Zeus
NO BECAUSE THE MACHINE BOMBED INTO THE OTHER COUNTRY RIGHT? WHAT IF THAT OTHER COUNTRY IS PALDEA AND HE BLASTED THE CRATER INTO PALDEA!!!!!!
These games get a lot of hate, but the lore and story is actually underrated to some degree, and I can’t wait to see if it’s elaborated on in Legends ZA
