I like the interview, but what’s ironic is that he asks about the sexist questions, but at the same time I don’t think he will/would have asked any of these questions to her male counterpart. Why not ask men about how they feel about sex scenes and women’s roles in it, body positivity, sexist questions, etc. I think these days we’re doing better with letting women talk about feminism, but we’re not involving men enough. Encouraging men to show their sensitive sides will help both men and women. Also kinda dumb they use a body double, as if Keira’s body isn’t good enough.
@Joe Si think you're right about that part, but women also get asked all the time about how they're combining being a mom with work when their kids are older, and people never ask a man that, which is ridiculous. I'm not sure why you want to pick the one thing that is different about becoming parents, and talk about that. This is about a bigger conversation with lots of things that ARE wrong and SHOULD be different. Please don't try to make that conversation seem irrelevant just because you can name some things that make questions based on gender seem okay. There are also lots that aren't okay.
@Joe S I couldn't agree with you more that there are loads of sexist views men still have to deal with, like needing to 'man up', not being able to be sensitive or cry, needing to look buff, etc. But I don't agree that both men and women should ' just accept this' at all. At any point in time women could have 'just accepted' that they didn't get to vote, and black people could have 'just accepted' that they didn't get to use the same bathrooms as white people and so on. But I'm so glad they didn't! Racism, sexist questions, they're all things that we can change by learning more about it and changing our behaviour. I don't see why we should stop learning at some point and 'just deal with it' if we can make a positive change.
So I actually saw in another interview that she requested for a body double for the more progressive parts of the scene and that made her feel more comfortable. But she also referenced the body double actress and was very pleased with the process and the result!
Hmm. I love everything she said but I query if the anonymous body double can exercise nearly as much power over their scenes as the filmstar? Isn’t that simply deferring the inequality? Wouldn’t it be ideal to agree how much nudity should be in the film - period. Otherwise you could risk exploiting another person.
There are thousands of people willing to be body doubles. There is only one film star. Now what do you think ? Any contracts with body doubles are extremely detailed. You cannot request additional scenes, not in the contract, at the 11th hour.
The more woke you become, the more you eat your own words. You can't completely break away from a culture that is ingrained in humanity since biblical times. Kind of ironic, huh?
I’m go glad a woman as sweet and empowering as Keira is one of the hugest actresses out there. It’s always a pleasure putting on a movie & getting the pleasant surprise ‘oh it’s my girl Keira’ 😊
I agree, she's a living legend. Second in Hollywood history, perhaps (and in my opinion), only to Audrey Hepburn, in that they both spoke their minds and censored nothing. And everything they said/say had/has an impact.
men do acknowledge their emotions, and they aren't the only ones who aren't allowed to cry. Women aren't either, they just do more often on avg. due to nature.
'Due to nature'. Thank you, people need to start realising men act in certain ways and women act in certain ways because of instincts and nature, we are very different despite simply having a different arrangement of chromosomes. People need to start realising this.
I like her, but it's weird that she acts all "body positive" yet won't show her body on screen again because it's allegedly imperfect after giving birth. Doesn't that just further reinforce that women should cover their bodies unless they look perfect?
Imo it's more like she feels more protective of her body, not self-conscious as in "oh no my body does not look as good as it was before, I won't do nude scenes again" but more like "this is my body & I don't think I want to let people see it anymore". I mean, if she can get a body double to do the nude scenes for her, why should she?
I don't get this underpay thing. Aren't actors paid based on their names? In regular business I never heard/saw cases where males get more $$ for the same job. I know few cases where females earned more $$ for the same job as their male/female colleagues + they worked way less. In this specific case she "sold" herself better and was getting higher wage than her male colleague who still haven't reached that pay check and who worked way more than her. I obviously will not use that case to generalize stuff.
Yeah you should tell her all about how much she makes compared to other people in her industry that you've never met. I'm sure you have so much to teach her.
Was the testosterone level in the interview appropriate for the post-patriarchal intersectional identity politics we've come to expect in our efforts to reduce toxic masculinity in the post #metoo world?
Answer the after math she hated Germany in the movie ,,,,I hated my arafat family in real life ,,,,Iam really upset from them what kind of family are they under .....religion .... .?.....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Iam good mother and good to my kids if they need me they will find me.
I've never understood it , she really can't act every film I've watched with her in it has seen ruinedby her terrible acting , that said respect to her for talking about mental health issues but acting skills are hideous
It is a truth universally acknowledged that Knightly is indeed, _"the living legend and the queen of period dramas."_
we love a p&p beginning ❤️
Kate winslet is also incredible.
Concordo com vc.
Keira Knightley saying "its gonna be alright" was like blessing from God, thank you Keira thank you
That interviewer is giving me LIFE 👍 Also that's amazing that Keira so off-handedly mentions the body double
She's so beautiful why did she need a body double? They didn't really do full nude scenes.
She really is such a positive speaker. ❤
she's so cute and stands up for herself and what's right love her
Muy elegante siempre.
Muy hermosa y muy inteligente.
La amo ❤❤❤
the most talented actress. real and genuine.
Keira is my favourite. I love even her personal style and always pin pics of her outfits
Me too!!
Me three
She is a great woman! That's why she is my favorite ❤
Favourite woman?... there's alot, r u sure?
I so admire her. She's just wonderful.
Body positive = great. Too bad the industry's use of a body double reverses any of that growth entirely.

Asks "do you still get sexist questions in 2019?"...then proceeds to ask sexist questions about her body lol
LOL my thoughts exactly.

did she just bring up the wage gap in 2019?
Is it not in fashion now to be honest about inequality? I didn't get the memo.
Nice interview.
she's one of intelligent artists around. salute to her.

This guy has eaten way too much soy.

@@magdaradu6591 ha ha
It certainly should be difficult to cope when your an atheist and the universe and everything in it is meaningless and arbitrary.
This interviewer has had way too much soy in plastic bottles.
Just ruin an interview with something that camp why dont you!
