Loved this!!! My daughter and her friend sang "Truth Be Told" for their school talent show and they WON! It's a small school but they preached God's word thru this song that day!

Matthew West, his songs are one of my favorite Christian singers. Most of his songs meet me where I am, I'm not going to get married anytime soon, I won't tell you my age:), song "When you ask her" Not sure I have the title correct. And he's hilarious: Halloween candy video, Covid and Santa for two!!! Thank you Matthew! God is using you in my life. A fan!!!

After "Truth be told" came out I did a year of not being able to say I'm "fine or ok". I actually took the time to see how I am and what is going on around me. This song is one of my heart songs that will always be part of my life.

Woe means great sorrow or distress.
Whoa means to stop, slow down... like what you say to a horse.
      BIG DIFFERENCE. 🤣

remember mark....saying you liked the shutdown during covid and sounding entitled was not the right profession to make when so many people lost so much and myself being in nursing it was a difficult journey...we didnt have the luxury of sitting in a lazy boy...God Bless

I know this may not be the place to share this…but in the name of transparency? When you say Walla Walla it brings my nephew to mind, for he will be incarcerated there for some time to come. 😢
Mark, Andrew and Mathew thank you so much. I have had a very heavy heart over this past year due to a horrific tragedy within my family.
I am now at a point where the trauma and the grief has progressed to a place where I am not ‘consumed’ by it. That being said I so appreciate a chance relate to others ‘truth’. So much of this conversation touched me. Mathew your friend who visited the ‘forgotten’, also mentioning how ‘rest’ in my God given identity can be a challenge. Mark: ‘when we show our scars they will show us there’s’. And you mentioning your dad being incarcerated. Andrew you mentioning that maybe we don’t believe we are enough. Like we have to do something-perform-to save ourselves? Going back to ‘rest’, I too wrestle with resting, due to, what I now believe was due to lack of assurance of my salvation.
Though I still have questions: I am blessed to have time AND desire to grow from milk to meat…as God permits.
Gods peace and joy be known and WITH all. 🙏❤️👆🏼🌸
Ps: I so cherish a chance to have a wholesome laugh! Thank you 🤗
Pss: If we actually heard each other, the unmasked truth-perhaps we would not need therapist…🤷
I lean toward this being true.

His father was the longtime minister of an Assembly of God church.

The idea of the church being a hospital - "the church" has taught so much hellfire and brimstone for so long and neglected the mercy and grace of God. The church should be IN the ICU, IN recovery, allowing The Great Physician to heal the theology. The damaging words, actions, looks, make it impossible to be transparent. If we were able to smell our own sin, we would smell like a garbage heap. We shower and put on deodorant and walk into church smiling and wearing our best odor-free clothing. We temporarily remove our stench, do church, then go home and put on our smelly clothes. True "everybody is welcome" is slowly moving through the young Christians. They are not hearing the messages we older Christians have heard. Pastors, preachers, clergy shoot arrows with their words that hit the bulls-eye and cause damage. The congregation (especially those of us who are older; I'm one of them. I can say this) shoot arrows with their looks, their whispers, then fake smiles. I find this particularly in small churches with older congregations. Church should be like a Celebrate Recovery meeting. No judgment. Attendees don't judge each other's smell because they KNOW they have their own stench to deal with.
