    My sister enjoyed listening to your guitar music. Soothing, relaxing lalo na kung napapakinggan sa madaling araw! Salamat, Joel. Pwede nang marinig ang version mo ng kantang Minsan ang Minahal ay Ako! Pls!

    I felt nostalgic watching your video of these old Ilongo songs, they were my mums favourite songs. Sadly she was not with us anymore. Lucky I inherited her genes and have this voice like her. I sing these songs whenever I get a chance e.g Walay Angay, Ahay Kalisud, Dalawidaw Ikaw, Ilongo ang Banwa Ko,etc. You are an excellent guitarist, I am a fan.

    Perhaps because my standard for playing of Filipino music is as exemplified by Pedro Concepcion and Juan Silor Jr.’s playing, I greatly enjoy listening to your rendition of them than others’. Having said that, I do not think that it is fair to claim that modern transcriptions for the guitar of our old popular Filipino songs are missing their true spirit. These transcriptions are as valid as those two virtuosos’ earlier versions.

    Just like any other wonderful Filipino artist; humble to the bone. Thank you for that lovely piece.
    I subscribed to your channel to keep up with your new releases.

      Thank you Mr. John, thanks also for subscribing.
      Sorry I don't play the guitar very often coz I don't have extra time to do it. There were times that I didn't play and didn't even touch my guitar for many days and even weeks......so don't expect too much from me. God Bless you.

    Nagsosolo guitar din ako dati pero kapag may nanonood sa akin nagkakamali ako at hindi ko na nabubuo yung piyesa. 😂😂😂😂

      @@RicoMamboo-j8q normal lang siguro...ganun din kasi ako...lalo na kapag kasama mga barkada, mawawala konsentrasyon dahil may magsasalita at kakausapin ka....pero kapag ako lang...ok naman....maliban nalang kapag nagrerecord ako...merong konting nerbios din at madalas ang ulit ng tugtog.

    • @RicoMamboo-j8q

      @joelmalit bakit kaya ganun? Kapag nagkamali ako hindi ko na mabuo yung piyesa? Kailangan magsimula ulit ako umpisa para mabuo ko yung piyesa.

      @RicoMamboo-j8q nerbios....nakawala ng focus.

    It is just that their versions come from a different sensibility, may be carrying the stamp of more foreign influence, may be more technically demanding, but nevertheless legitimate musical expressions of those songs. I do not think that the modern technical training of say, your paisano, Florante Aguilar inhibits or gets in the way of the interpretation of our songs.

    Joel, thank you for this beautiful rendition. I am Fr. Rannie Aquino. Do you have a score for this? I have been looking for a choral score. Your guitar rendition is laden with emotion -- and it is beautiful. I don't think that on guitar you can beat this.

    Great! Can you add guitar tabs on your video, or do you have site that have tablatures? thanks

      Hi Glen, Sorry I cannot do that because I'm selling the tabs. These pieces are already out there thru books that I've selling since 5 years ago. I've sold so many copies already.

    I do not think that the modern technical training of say, your paisano, Florante Aguilar inhibits or gets in the way of the interpretation of our songs.
    On the contrary, I think that Michael Dadap’s playing of his versions of say, Abelardo, Santiago, Molina down to de Guzman and Velarde are equal if not more accomplished heartfelt invocations of the Filipino spirit in music.
