I have been watching all your YT channels.I love them all.I live In middle Tennessee.I am so fascinated by old homes and castles.I truly enjoy all these stories❤️
What a beautiful mansion, elegant and comfortable! And surrounded by beautiful gardens too!! The owners must be very proud of owning such an amazing property. Thank you for showing it to us, I enjoyed the video immensely.
What a wonderful story! Enjoyed it so much to see and hear the stories around this wonderful place. It is a dream! May this estate stay alive for generations to come!
It’s absolutely wonderful to see these old estates and homes being kept up and being refurbished and being used for useful purposes in the stage and holding onto the history in the architecture that is England that is the United Kingdom and I think it’s brilliant and I hope it continues. As an archaeologist, this type of restoration and and recreation of our past helps bring about an understanding of where we come from and where we should be looking to in the future. I know a lot of people don’t understand, that they believe money like this is being wasted, that it should go to society and it should go to current housing projects, and absolutely those things should take place as well, but not at the expense of losing history. Brilliant job and I thank you very much Julie for presenting this and showing the depth of these homes and these projects.
My Dad’s dream was to take a tour of manor homes. He loved watching British shows partly just to see the homes and decor. I recently discovered we are lineal descendants of William the Conqueror, and the monarchs down to King Edward III, and then we’re related to every monarch from Henry VII down to King Charles. Sadly, my Dad passed away unexpectedly last year & never got to see all the manor houses. He did make it to the UK 4 times and saw a great deal of it. So he was luckier than most Americans.
Of course, unless your a Native American, your all our literal cousins, a lot of you come from Spain Ireland (that's why your all obsessed with being Irish, cause a lot of you are) and Europe but most come from Henry the 8th and King Charlemagne. So Americans really are just Europeans. The only divide we should be seeing is the massive ocean in between us. 😊
I like old white linen tablecloths or big table mats, they protect the table from scratches (fork, knives), wet rings from the glasses o hot plates. I think that a nice table setting is essential to a lovely lunch, dinner or breakfast, or just a simple tea/coffee moment. It gives pleasure to the eye and contributes to the general ambiance.
Absolutely wonderful, thank you so much. What a glorious place and the history ! Oh, my. To be able to say Elizabeth the 1st stayed here snd her grandfather Henry V11 - just oh my. Marvellous. Thank you so very much 🙏🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺
Charlotte is giving me keeping up appearances and I love it. She is so charming and knows so much of history of her family and estate and decor taste is very pleasing. I wish I was there for the lovely breakfast And her next candle light supper. Love from Canada ❤️
THIS is what I call “reality television!” ❤❤❤❤ I love this homage to historic preservation and the format used to spread the historic content. No one to be forgotten. Thank you for such great content! Sending love to you and yours from Orlando Florida
Thank you for sharing your visit to fascinating and exquisitely beautiful Deene Park. The Brudenell’s are so warm and gracious in offering a glimpse into the amazing history and treasures of their family. I very much appreciate the great depth in which you’ve presented this stunning house, its gardens, grounds and initiatives. I wish them, and you, the very best in your extremely vital work to preserve British heritage for the future. p.s. I believe you’re from Naperville originally? Happy Thanksgiving from a Hinsdale lady! 😊💕
Thank you so much for a wonderful visit and for making it possible to all those of us who no longer travel to learn the history of one more fabulous property. The passion, love and care of the family, dedicated caretaker for the future generations.
Julie does such a beautiful job on all her videos!! I just absolutely love a Lady Charlotte , she is so knowledgeable and lovely ! Her grand mansion is amazing!💕😊
I especially love this episode.. And love how you are hands on with tasks and not stuffy or pretentious.. from an American who loves everything British to another American living in Britain 🇺🇸🇬🇧
So glad I found you thanks to the RUclips algorithm! Love your personal story and your presenting skills! You bring an intimacy that only an American born English aristocrat can! Loved the show featuring the couple who bought back their family home, a really warm and delightful episode! Keep doing what you do and I’ll catch up! Cheers, Michael Albuquerque NM USA
Your videos about the Historic Houses are so well done and wonderful! I have watched this one on Dean Hal about 3 times now and each time I hear or see something different. Charlotte Brudenell one of the caretakers of Deene Park seems so warm and inviting - she speaks fast though and my American ears have trouble understanding. She and her husband Robert are very personable and they have done and are doing a superb job of restoring and maintaining their home. Love this video and the people who appear with you! And of course! MINTA is so adorable 🥰
I watched this video twice, just for "Minta" (sp?) That dog is wonderful. "Just let me sploot in the main hall, Mummy. I can see this is going to take a while!" I could have bet that she was on the floor next to Daddy at the breakfast table, because I saw him reach down! What a most fortunate puppy! She could really have a lucrative career giving tours of her own home! :) And what a beautiful home and couple! Such down to earth, normal, lovely people, with a true love of history. And I love the style of the home as well: respectful to all the people of all the eras who inhabited this place. Why couldn't we see the "secret tower" in the garden? ;)
AMAZING Dean Park. So very much work goes into keeping these beautiful places "alive". Chaotte and Robert are wonderful hosts and their pride in Dean Park is evident in every corner of the estate. Thank you Julie for a wonderful segment.
Charlotte is just so historically knowledgeable about her home 🏡 Dean Park is just lovely and I've enjoyed watching this video of yours Julie for I think the third time over the past few months 😊 thank you again for sharing these grand homes castles and Manor homes with me and the world ❤
Julie is so fun. 😊I always wonder why these multiple wild fields and gardens don’t scatter in herbs in the fields and in the gardens. A tea garden and cooking herbs 🤷♀️❤️
lol love your videos this is such an eyeopener for all the ups and downs you’ve both been through but just remember what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger onwards and upwards can’t wait to watch what comes next xx Louise & Pete ireland
Hello, I love your videos and as someone who was born in England and adores history, antiques and historic houses that they do not have or appreciate here it is extra special. This house has it all and so many origial pieces and characteristics. The owners seemed so warm inviting and lovely. I wanted to mention; this video has been up for a while I'm sure someone has mentioned this, I have not read through the comments. When you learning the pressed napkin folds the housekeeper mentioned adding ivy, holly and then you mentioned adding mistletoe- Mistletoe is actually a parasite in trees and is very poisonous to ingest. I would suggest you not add mistletoe to a napkin that would touch the mouth. Even after using for decor purposes wich it is hung out of reach in say a kissing ball, you should be careful and wash hands completely and not use it in decor or in spots where it could be ingested as it is very poisonous and can make people and pets really sick.
I have only watched a little but I'd like a closer look at some of this history. I have been learning my genealogy and it would be nice to be able to see more and match it all together as I watch.
One of the most interisting Lords, when he was prisoners in the Tower he clasified all the Crown documents that were in quite a mess doing an extraordinary work
Cheers to these Brits for opening their homes that we may learn of history. Interesting to learn of the ongoing restoration of these beautiful places. It would be nice to have a series of American homes similar to this, without all the noisy background hype music and narrators.
I wish the husband had talked more considering it is his family’s historic home. The wife was absolutely amazing, less talk from the host who married into a historic family continuing on and on about her “being family”
As an American myself, I can say that Julie talks too much sometimes. She seems very nice but too eager to please and too eager to fill every quiet second with a comment. She could stand to relax a bit. I do love her appreciation of the subject at hand though and it’s wonderful that she is doing this series. Kudos to her for that.
Seems scaffolding high in the air would be more intimidating than friendly cows in the ground. But, we each have our own fear factors. Thank you for your videos.
My granny had a horsehair mattress and yes I slept beautifully in it. BUT it needs turning and takes at least 3 people to do it. It's hard work to keep comfortable. Spare a thought for the chamberlains who would have had their work cut out
As an equestrian, it always makes me so sad when these wonderful old facilities like the menage here are "repurposed" for people to just buy moar stuff and drink tea. That menage is absolutely gorgeous and completely unique. Have your market somewhere else and give demonstrations of its proper use instead!
Gosh, you are travelling around my ancestors, the most daughter Lady Frances Brudenell one of talked about in Dublin when she was married to Lord Bellew, and she was scandalous because her lesbian relation with Lady Margaret Allen she is my 7th great-grandmother

Charlotte comes across as a warm, genuine and highly knowledgeable person. A truly hospitable host.
Oh dear. You need some Tony Robinson or Niel Oliver in your life.
Truly down to earth women who love there families history and are very knowledgeable ❤ ♥ I realy enjoyed this, thank you

Can we all agree that, that little dog is the most calm, adorable, and so happy 😊
Siiiii...justo ahora salio en el video¡¡
Loved the video! Charlotte and Robert were wonderful hosts. The gardens are amazing. Beautiful, beautiful home and property. Thank you Julie!
What a handsome property and such lovely hosts. I truly enjoyed this episode.
