    I recommend trying printing with other plastics - ASA Aero LT. It has good foaming, can withstand high temperatures and the most interesting thing is that the models are lighter. It is as close as possible to balsa in its characteristics.

      LW-ASA is an excellent material that I’ve used for another project currently in progress. However, it does come with its challenges. It requires an enclosed printer to prevent warping, and sharp edges, such as the trailing edge, are prone to warping without using a glue stick. Additionally, dialing in the settings to prevent sagging between ribs can be time-consuming. That said, once the settings are fine-tuned, it prints quite well.

    God Damn It! Just when I was saying ''enough, I spent too much this Christmas'' Never clicked so fast to buy a set of Files? What do I think about this model? First of all, as soon as I saw you using a Bambu printer to print the Parts it was a big push that let me buy it because I knew it must have the tried and tested 3mf files. The size of the model is just right, and the wing and battery attached are pure genius, the only thing that I don't like is the usage of too many carbon rods and tubes. It's not that I don't like it, but because of costs, especially the wing tube, I will need to join Two 500mm tubes because most of them I source from Aliexpress, 1m Tube would be too expensive because of the shipping charges.
    For the Aileron hinging method I prefer if it was by use of filament itself instead of the carbon rod, I know the rod is more straight, and rigid and would aid in a more precise Aileron hinge but at least a cheap secondary option would be a great addition, Don't get me wrong, I love the Model how it turned out it's just an opinion and perhaps a suggestion.
    One thing I would like to ask is, the 3MF Files for the Bambu Printer are the filament settings set for a particular brand of LW-PLA, Like Esun, colorfabb etc?

      Regarding the carbon rods and tubes, I completely understand your concerns. While they do add strength and precision, the costs can certainly add up. For this version, I’ve reduced the amount of carbon wherever possible compared to V1. The primary focus for this model was on performance and reliability.
      Over the years, I’ve tested various hinge options, including filament, TPU/CA hinges, and other printed alternatives. In my experience, carbon provides the best play-free and smooth-running hinges. The rods enhance strength and maintain the form stability of the ailerons, which is crucial during extreme 3D maneuvers. It’s not the cheapest option, but most rods can be salvaged and reused even after a crash. You may find a company in your country that specializes in carbon parts, offering rods and tubes that can be cut to your specified sizes-this can often save time and shipping costs.
      The print profiles have been tested using ColorFabb and 3DLP filaments. ESUN should work as well-just measure the wall thickness of a single-wall print, which should fall between 0.52 and 0.58 mm.

      @3dblackbox thank you for your Reply, may I also ask you why in the filament profile for the Lw-pla the temperature is set to 270deg? any specific reason why it's that high? I Know that the filament expands and foams up with temperature but usually I use it between 230 to 240 deg.

      @@ripmax333 We're aiming for a wall width of 0.52-0.58mm. Printing at 100mm/s requires higher temperatures for LW-PLA to foam the same amount. My slower 50mm/s profiles are printed at 245C.

      @@mvr4343 The files come with all settings needed for the build. I recommend using Colorfabb LW-PLA.

    Hello everyone. I love the project... and I am pulling the trigger to it, but... I never had an RC Plane before... Long experience on managing RC Cars and Drones... but no planes... So, comes the question... Anybody recommends a good Simulator to practice flying lessons?? Thanks in advance and congrats to the project... pristine presentation.

      Thank you for the kind words; I'm thrilled you like the project! While I would love to see you enjoy this plane, I must caution you that it’s not an ideal choice for a first RC plane, even with RC car and drone experience. Flying planes is quite different and comes with a steep learning curve.
      Using a simulator is an excellent way to get started, and I highly recommend RealFlight Evolution.
      To make your journey enjoyable, I suggest starting with a foam plane, ideally a high-wing trainer model. They are forgiving and perfect for learning the basics. After getting comfortable and gaining some experience, I’d be happy to see you back here for your first build!

      @@TheBenrocc I can add them to the files, but honestly it's easier to do them by hand. Wrapping graphics around the curvatures is really tricky.
