Hello I enjoyed watching your video! Did the same half a year ago. Both packs will not load full. Wenn i testet the cells. I found out that the charging process is only charging the first cells in series to 4.2 V the 4 cells behind are not charging. And staying at 3.7 V. Anybody any idea?
Hello. Is it possible to replace original cells, for example 1500mah 20a, with 3000mah 20a? Is there some sort of protection on this battery from switching cells?
Do you end up hanging onto the old batteries for minor replacement? For example if you come across 1 pack with the bottom corner with water damage. And you pop 1 spare in place of it. Or is it that usually you just repack and replace all cells?
@@spinnanz I don't have a model number, but name in the online store is ProCORE18V 8.0Ah Professional. I just want to know if I am going to be perpetually scammed in buying overpriced batteries if I buy new Bosch products.

@@billadmond9450 I make no recomndation in the video to use these particular cells, nor do I even say that they are. At 8:10 it clearly states the specs of the original cells and the video description has the brand and model of the original cells in the pack.
If you made this video for learning purpose that's ok, but in the real life buying 10 brand cells (plus accessories) will cost near the same or even more than what you would spend by buying a new Bosch battery. And now Bosch make the Pro Core one which uses the latest Samsung 21700 cells which make the pack smaller.
In my country an 18v 5ah bosch pack will cost me $190 for a 5ah. 10x 30q cells will cost me $137, so I can make a 6ah pack. Thats a 27% saving and get a 20% larger battery.
@@spinnanz When you talk about numbers you need to be more specific but it's clear to me that you mention things like people chit chatting at the local market: what country you buy the battery from, what cells brands and where you buy them, how do you get 20% energy by using the same cell specification?
@@billadmond9450 I don't need to be specific at all. If you don't like the video go make a better one yourself. My example above is using 30q cells, which have 20% more capacity than factory.
Thanks, with your video I fixed a bad connection in my BAT620.
Glad the video helped!
Oh I didn't notice the lil grinder in the last one. That's a good idea lol now I've got to get one 😅

Fantastic job. Well done
Can you show any lights on why my battery do not make contact with the drill battery connection, when pushed into place ?
I have an identical one that flashes an LED on it and does not charge. The batteries are good. What is the problem?

Yes it's possible to fit cells with a higher ah rating.

I myself replace all cells but if someone want a me to do 1 cell (and provides it), I'll do that.
My other question did you find doubling up the nickel strips helped?
I've never compared single and double packs but I know that using doubled strips will reduce the heat when using the pack on high draw tools.
Hi! Do new Bosch PROCore batteries brick themselves like laptop batteries do, or are they still repairable?
@@qt1qg do you have the battery model number?

@@qt1qg I'm not sure if they lock or not but I see there are aftermarket cases and bms available so if they lock, you'd just replace the BMS too.

these are not panasonic cells. The description in the store is confused. These cells have a low discharge current!
You are correct. They are LG chem cells, lg18650mh1.
@@spinnanz these are not cells for electrical machines. You will blow them out very quickly. You need high drein cell more then 15A discharge

If you put 10 cells with 3000mah,how much amp the battery pack will rate?
10 cells will be 2 rows of 5 cells. Using 3000mah cells will give you a capacity of 6ah (6000mah).

Hi, what thickness of nickel strip did you use?
Two layers of 0.12 or 0.15.to make a total of 0.24 or 0.30mm.
