Neat, although personally I think it looks way cleaner without the stars and bricks. As a general rule of thumb, the more blending you use, the less variety there should be in your objects. Unintended overlap with blending can get really messy really fast.
100% agree with you, If I remade this I'd improve the block structure, add hue, use a black base and connectors/more interesting things inside the block, tiered glow etc. and it sort of bugs me that this got popular because I don't think this is feature-worthy anymore and a lot of people are (rightfully) annoyed at the misleading title. Thanks for your compliment though, and thanks for being nice about it :)
Im litrally crying right now, because there are Ytbers who make Tutorials, after 2018, thx man, ure doing a great job, pls make more tutorials, i would wish that u could make one with Level Details that ure Level doesnt seem Empty
honestly tho 5 minutes for 1 second is nothing, at that rate you could have an entire "long" level built from scratch in 5 hours which is RIDICULOUSLY fast... even a generic, mediocre level would be expected to take 10-15 hours, and the best levels often take many, many months of dedicated work
@@cocoafox That's the issue. Why does it have to take so much time to make a level that's accepted by the community? The standards are stupidly high these days. Of course I'm going along with it, but I just wish it wasn't this way.
@@MrPatrickbuit i think it's kinda inevitable, given the circumstances. everyone has had the exact same editor tools at their disposal for over 3 years now, since 2.1 was released; there have been no new challenges or features to explore since then. the only thing people have been able to do is keep practicing and building, gradually getting better and better at using the tools of the game. as more people learn how to make better levels, the threshold of what defines a "good" level has nowhere to go but up

this looks fantastic! I recently came back to GD after months and tried making some block design, its okay but this is AMAZING! and blue is my favorite color so +1 I think i'll use this
FREE ADVICE: The blending fits good but on the thick base, some spots are brighter than others. And the stars look a teeny tiny bit out place. (JK) Also if you do the rainbow effect with it, it will look incredible
as a glow creator myself, i can give a couple tip aswell. 1. make the design more interesting than just simple squares and rectangles, try adding sort of pipe shape or maybe add some slopes. 2. dont worry about the colours from the beginning too much, since you also pulse the objects black to give a similar effect than pulsing the colours. hopefully this helps at all.
Ok so basicly: Make it any size, add glow, add shiny things, - 3:25 add colors, yeah. tags: #blending #copy color #detail #s-k-i-l-l-s #shiny #spikes #geometry dash #level
Bread Gamer This is very true, experimenting is one of the best things to do to get better, however time consuming. I’m gonna be honest here, I cringe looking back at some of these designs, but what is good about these tutorials is that they help people get familiar with the editor a little more.
I wrote most of the instructions :P cuz nobody did it 1. Keep color 1 white and 2 black 2. The Next one color 3 tick the box which says copy color and the one that says blending if you background is add brightness +0.36 3. for next color copy step three but turn the opacity to 0.35 4. make the shape of the your block, then make a thick outline for it, set base color to "3" 5. on layer 2 create a base. In this design, the base doesn't matter that much as its very transparent so pick simple block 6. Start by adding color 3 glow (thick glow) in layer 3 add black fade from the bottom, start by adding the glow as shown. Then set this to layer T2 in edit group. 7. add color 3 glow around the outside. 8. Use decorative objects on layer 4, add them at the 90 degree corners in your shape, you can add them on the outside if you want
I'm making basically glowy 2 but not named glowy 2 and I am worried it won't live up to the original so I need a tutorial on that type of level if you can make it (please)
@@adamlindfors5082 Yes but that block is like 90% glow, there are no blocks that can be smooth if there is just glow. How are you gonna do a background, use glow again?
