Feels like every KS campaign already uses Backerkit for fulfillment anyway so it really begs the question what is the point of dealing with this middleman?
@@Orange_Pith Yea i get that and in the age of Zombicide et al discoverability and reach were a much larger part of the equation but I feel like in the year of our lord 2024 pretty much every project is already/necessarily associated with a well known or notorious name or influence in which case discoverability plays a significantly lesser portion of the pie.
@toasthammer i agree that having a platform beforehand does grant far greater reach. The issue is conversion. So the people watching youtube are not always the people wanting to buy minis. But the people on backerkit or Kickstarter are there as customers so your conversion is much higher. Views to clicks are low, clicks to purchases are even lower. I have ran 2 campaigns and it gives you a lot of the data for where clicks came from.
Kinda sounds like someone at Kickstarter made a bad call, then couldn't justify it, so just closed the communication on you. When companies get this big, they seem to lose any human element. Really sorry it hit you guys like this.
For find ability I suggest also trying a campaign on my mini factory, considering it’s a 3D printing focused platform. I myself just bought into a One Page Rules army campaign thing earlier this evening.
Multiple platforms. Some creators run both MMF tribes, MMF frontiers and crowdfunding to sell their works. Frontiers works well if the minis are ready to go. Backerkit is good if there is a lag in delivery of the STLvfiles
7:57 I hadn't heard of Backerkit until Trench Crusade mentioned them for their pledge manager. Speaking of, the Kindred Models would work as awesome Sin eaters! So much cross over potential!
I wasn't around at the time that initial video was made, but I recently came back to binge TTT. I'm glad y'all took a step back to reassess your videos and the current state of the platform, and I'm wishing the best for y'all! Much luck on the new direction, and am excited to see more of this project!
Whatever happens to the channel, i do want you all to know that you have been a huge inspiration. You are a big reason why i got into warhammer and i cant wait for your own universe to hopefully launch. I do very much hope that TabletopTime can somehow get back on its feet.
Just posted this video on both Preachy Tips and Rogue Hobbies Discord. Because I don't want KS to kill this channel, because I need more Jenn awesomeness and more Red Wiggles camera mugging
There seem to be a few comments saying you should just give up and stop complaining about bad luck. I just want to say that I love your videos, and your determination is inspiring. Keep it up, and I hope this new bakerkit campaign goes super well.

Wow, the more I hear about kickstarter, the less I want anything to do with them. This whole thing looks like it's going to be amazing, can't wait to see what's in store.

(meaning something people can listen to, on yt, while they are painting, working whatever since I have even stopped watching battlereports since I feel like I don't have the time to enjoy them
While I did back quite a few kickstarters over the years (love the idea to support small creative companies/games/people/inovators), I had no idea how the company kickstarter works ... guess I'll avoid them in the future. While I currently have no need for 28mm SciFi/steampunk miniatures, I'll definitely follow your campaign and share it in my local friendgroup/community! I wish you all the luck and really hope to be able to see lots of new videos from you guys in the months/years to come!
Hope you manage to get this sorted out! I love this channel, and you folks made building battle boards seem approachable enough that I finally got into it
can we make a like goal or something that if reached by the time the backerkit goes live we get "kindred of the abyss" Week? As is release the back up videos on it over a couple days, I've seen other channels do things like that and I think it would be a bit of fun and free up the regular release spot for more like christmassy themed stuff. Love the final editors note, scrumptious dave
Wow, what a ride. Glad you're persevering with the idea, even in the face of some bullshit. Should also have mentioned that patrons of the Patreon received one of the Kindred as a bonus perk, so its a way to support, and get your hands on one sooner.
These models look absolutely gorgeous, and I've always loved the diver theme. Over the years I've backed a handful of kickstarters and only one of them has gone smoothly. I'm so sorry you guys have to put up with this BS.
Wow. Some steaming hot bullshit was going on in the background. Hope you guys can get this off the ground. I wanna see this channel recover and start actually turning a profit.
I understand KS's initial reason for it, there are probably scammers who have created multiple campaigns to scam people in the past. It definitely sucks they don't have a way to authenticate/bypass etc the blockers to proceed though, really crappy to the people who make them money. I hope your backerkit campaign will go well, just followed it!
can't wait to see what happens next, I'm so happy this channel is still persevering, I got scared when you missed an upload but thank isera and her godly children you're still going and good luck TTT.... also dave's editing wasn't terrible.... but........... can't wait for the editor to return😅 edit: oh forgot to mention, these minis look awesome and I just made an account on backerkit to join this, super excited, great work everyone and hope this goes well 🤞

I hope everyone is able to rally around TTT, because you guys work your asses off, daily, and it shows.
You guys have fought through thick and thin up until now, I'm glad to see that even if Kickstartr is being a bunch of c***'s, there's still another option. I'm really interested in your ideas, I love the concept of the Sister's of the Old Blood, and the Theme part Vikings. I've gone and followed the page already, after everything with the space bears and your forwardness with everything you've proven you're willing to do this the right way. I hope you get the attention and funding you deserve.
I can think of person who ran failed campaign after failed campaign without being stopped by Kickstarter. I don't get their logic at all for barring you, beside terrible customer service like you said. I'm glad you were able to pivot your campaign.
This could help with veiws, maby you could create a battle report with one of your existing armys? Just a suggestion since battle reports are really popular.
I've heard that half of kickstarters are basically scams, but I think more accurately, half of kickstarters just fail because of a plethora of reasons like this - mostly the platform itself is the scam. They want their money and don't care because they can blame the creators for wrong doing.
It might be worth also considering myminifactory. Also, youve mentioned trench crusade before on the channel, there is quite the lack of trench crusade miniatures online. It might be worth looking into it It sure sounds like the whole world is against your company
Yeah, I was going to suggest Mmf and look at faction rules for one page rules as well as trench crusade. I’d be looking to cast the net as wide as possible rather than limiting it to “these models are for our cool game that isn’t out yet”. “Hey here’s some cool models and here’s rules for opr and look at them painted in this cool grimdark trench crusade look oh and we have our own cool mini game rules coming soon too.”
One page rules ghosted us and have bad communication, we already went down this route with space bears. MMF have horrendous new fees and charges and are not the greatest platform for creators, while being good for users (but expensive) - Trench Crusade we also asked about compatibility but they werent interested. We can push all of that, but it wont be official or endorsed
@@TabletopTime oh, im sorry to hear that. Maybe trench crusade will be more of a viable option once their minis are out, and proportions can be made right. it's lousy that kickstarter treated you guys this way. i really hope this works out on backerkit. also does that platform accept paypal? i would love to get some of these scupts for a deap sea diorama
I'm just gonna leave my 2 cents on why I'm watching less; and this isn't just you guys it's tabletop content in general. The TLDR is.... I can't afford the hobby anymore. I've always painted AoS and 40K and I just can't justify the cost anymore. I've stopped painting entirely and so my interest in tabletop content is just waning. I try to keep up with your videos because I just like your crew and content in general but man... The algorithms gonna algorithm. I wonder how many other views you're losing just by people being priced out and losing interest.
Well, I'd say the core of the problem is an over saturation: there is only so much audience and money to go around. And, a channel like this competes with actually everyone - hairdressers, restaurants, channels about cars, whatever; not about the audience, but their money - where do people choose to spend their money? If I would have to choose, I would rather spend money on my rent than say supporting a channel about wood working or for that matter tabletop games. And sorry to say, as interesting a channel might be, it might be time to look at things more down to earth - I understand if people want to make a living off making RUclips videos, but with the immense competition, I think it might be time to look at other occupations to make ends meet, ie doing things that have a more stable income but doesn't necessarily involve cameras., cutting down on the content creation - which I understand many have to do, even channels with way more subscribers and little to none merch - and of course way less expenses than a channel like this that will fork out a lot for materials and as I understand it, several people actually getting paid. Anyway, hope it clears up. You seem like a decent lot, but it might be time to face the music.
I don't think giving up is admirable, we're going to try until trying doesn't work anymore. What happened to resilience and fighting for what you love and believe in. Nobodies crying here, were going to keep fighting until it doesn't work or it does
