New subscriber, love the information packed videos as I slowly progress through them! Could you trim the established java moss to create new moss balls?
I kept 1 moss ball in my daphnia tank which grows tons of algae because I keep in in the window. 2 years later I had 10 3in moss balls. I didn't even know why it happened.😂😂
Thx. Question: Do you happen to know if Greenbrier International Styrofoam (hard, rough texture, white, small) balls are safe to use? I want to make floating moss balls on fishing line anchored with a rock for my aquariums? TIA!
Hi im new to your channel and very new to the fish hobby. Questions.. We have a 10-gallon (37.84 Ltrs.) tank. I bought a floating moss ball and do not like it, can i remove the moss and place it in a plastic moss ball? 2. I have the old-style fish tank, with the over hanging filter. and a terrible lid that has extremely bright lights attached to it. I have a glass lid i want to use but we wouldn't be able to use the overhanging filter. the overhanging filter also causes a lot of water evaporation. we have a betta and 2 Nerite snails. We would like the moisture and heat to stay in the tank, What can i use instead of the overhanging filter? Thank you.
Hey i have one of these myself and been trying to see if anyone has had luck with them. I dont think that’s fertilizer in there, i think it’s clay balls like a filter media. Where did you see it described as fertilizer?
@@xKenn true. I bought some moss balls for my tank and it looked more like a clump of hair algae growing. My marimo just gathered alot of food particles. I tried it with javamoss and Christmas moss, it looks much nicer
He sounds Australian, depending on where he is certain things are almost impossible to get. I live in NSW and have never seen Marimo in stores or local online shops.
Also, some people actually want BOTH TYPES because they are low maintenance and look completely different, creating more variety. They can also live in very similar conditions. It's true that Java moss grows rapidly, so this is a way to make it a bit more manageable (For those that plan on having Java moss anyway).
Not to be a jerk but you say “uh” a lot , if you work on that it would make it a much more pleasant experience and benefit your videos, other than that great product and good content

I’m not sure if it’s just me but the links to the stores are sending me to weird places
I just want to see those moss balls and moss ball weights!
That’s not a real moss ball you can find them next to Berta’s at the pet store and they won’t grow like real ones
Well technically it is a moss ball, and those Marimo balls are a rare type of algae that grows in the shape of a ball..
He sounds Australian, depending on where he is certain things are almost impossible to get. I live in NSW and have never seen Marimo in stores or local online shops.
The SamuraisBlade True but it's not very rare now because the algae is made easily in a lab
