After former guy 45 fetched a strange mindlessness to public discourse, it is a deep and visceral relief to listen to someone who is quite simply normal and decent. Trump destroyed much that was decent and sensitive in public discourse. When Biden said he would stand for saving the soul of the USA I realized he would win and he did. None of the Supreme Court justices are deciding according to LAW. There's a reason they call the decisions OPINIONS. Because none of the stuff they rule on is ever explicitly mentioned in the Constitution. All the justices rule based on their opinion. Contrary to how conservatives portray it, there is usually no single right answer. Otherwise we wouldn't need judges to "interpret" the unclear parts of the law.
Socialist judges are absolutely NOT about law and entirely about how they are feeling or told how they are supposed to feel. They will be the first on the list if there's ever a Purge.

President Biden seems like he knows a wide range of social issues and personal stories. I was struck when he said that he really believes in the judgement of most Americans. After Biden shakes Nicole Wallace's hand, he starts to walk off the set.
She then had a loud intake of breath after the handshake and she says, "Don't go anywhere" as Biden is walking behind her, going somewhere.
Maybe the deep intake of breath indicates she was, at the very least, surprised when he then walked away from the set instead of calmly waiting for the commercial break like most people do after they are interviewed on live television.

That's actually pretty common. Once the interview is wrapped up, they pan the camera to the host while the guest leaves (or not. They don't always leave right away and just hang out for a bit sometimes)

--That actually makes what Biden did worse. He should have exited the set to his immediate left. That would be the fastest way off set. He should not have walked behind the host. If he had exited correctly, the camera would have been in close-up on the host as she took the show into the commercial break. Biden would have been exiting at this time and know one would know. When they returned from the break, Biden would have been gone.

With Biden, you get an interview with easy questions and easy answers.

The host was clearly elated to have Biden on (which explains the deep inhale), and probably the staff at large as well. So maybe they weren't in a hurry to point him in any direction. To me, the top highlight of this interview started at around 18:22 when Biden said “There’s still a lot of really good Republicans…” He then spoke about Mitt Romney and then, starting at 18:33, said “…but others have come to me. Since I’ve been elected, now, it’s six Republican Senators/ Two came at one time and the other four alone to tell me ‘Joe, I agree with you, but if I’m seen doing it, I lose the primary.’ It’s not a profile in courage, but …”.
What Biden said is telling. My take about this is that we need a major change to our political system. Specifically, one that weakens the power of the two major parties and incentivizes officeholders to worry a lot less about being “primaried” by more extreme candidates of their own party and a lot more about working towards moderation, cooperation and solutions for the American people.
Unless somebody can think of something better, the best way to do that would be a system with open (non-partisan) primaries with approval voting -- that is, voters can list up to five candidates, with the top five overall vote-getters advancing to the general election. The general election would use ranked choice voting, with the winner determined by a “wins vs. losses” vote-counting method. Candidates receive a “win” for each candidate each ballot ranks below them and a “loss” for each candidate a ballot ranks above them.

• More candidates with actual chances of winning to choose from, including more independent and third-party candidates. Third-party candidates would no longer be "spoilers".
• With the “wins vs. losses” counting system, voters are given a means for “vetoing” extremist candidates on either or both sides.
• Although they certainly wouldn't go away completely, reduced power to the two major parties!
• Centrists/moderates winning more elections than extremists
• Lawmakers would be less concerned about being “primaried”, therefore will do less to pander to extremist voters
• Best part: lawmakers far more incentivized to compromise and do the peoples’ business than to throw proverbial rocks across the aisle.

Pretending the economy is great after 2 quarters of negative GDP.
