6:30-8:33 It's a great story how 2 Rabbis helped this poor woman, and thankfully it has a happy ending. But IF the answer was that it is forbidden for her to marry until the baby is born, it would NOT mean that the Torah is bankrupt. That is a false conclusion.
It would be bankrupt if it was not deeply involved in life and could not provide answers (through someone like R' Moshe). Reb Shlomo was not addressing the answer, he was focusing on the effort involved in finding the heter and the fact that the answer could be found by delving deeply into the Torah which is deeply involved in life.
Perhaps that is why Christians think the Torah is bankrupt. They don't have the oral tradition which is a living, breathing thing. They wrote a whole 2nd Bible for themselves.
Even not a top boy wouldn’t always marry a girl pregnant with someone else’s child. Why cast aspersions on the boy. She should have married the first one. If he was good enough to get pregnant by he was good enough to marry. He wanted to marry her.
i think you didn't understood clearly, i once heard the same story on a different recording, he mentioned over there, Basically The first guy used her. when she became pregnant. he dropped her. with all kinds of excuses.. Hope it helps
The one who got her pregnant was the second guy. He refused to marry her. She went back to the first guy who wanted to marry her that she had broken up with. She had not slept with the first guy (until he married her, of course!)

@@AllCarlebachComwhy did she sleep with the first guy if they weren't married? If they were married how could he just drop her?
