you have been a complete game changer for me and being a mom to a very hungry teenager. I'm not a natural cook.. nor has anyone taught me... so ... your recipes are doable and delicious ... you have changed my life.... thank you!!!!
Yummo! Thank you. As an ADULT, I always wanted to eat oats for their incredible health benefits, BUT hated breakfast porridge as a child so never ate them EVER again. Now at 66 [a bit late, I know!] luckily found your site. So my health thanks you SO much. from Oz 👍
I can relate to that :-). I’m a bit younger (54) and I was looking for savoury recipes with oats, too. I can’t stand breakfast porridge either. I’m so happy I found this recipe 😊.
I made your recipe tonight and ooh was it soo delicious. I added a red pepper. And jalopenos peppers cut up in small bits. Plus I used only 2 cups of Oats. Did not add the Oats flour. I'm definitely going to make this dinner again and again. 🌹 🌹
@@HowToCookSmarter I can't eat eggs so I used ground flax and chickpea flour mixed with a bit of broth instead as a binder. Worked great. We made pizza oats, adding all the veggie toppings into the batter and adding some tomato sauce and cheese to the top when it was almost done baking. yum!
This is similar to an awesome vegetarian recipe I have…but I soak the oats in 2 cups of pineapple juice until absorbed, and add a can of coarsely chopped chickpeas to the mixture. The aroma from the pineapple juice while it is baking is amazing. Highly recommend trying it!
@@gyaaniji I’ve used both, but. usually bottled/carton juice. I never thought of adding the pineapple pieces to the dish (though really no reason not to, the recipe is quite versatile.)
Combine 2 cups of pineapple juice and 2 cups ground oats. Let soak. Coarsely chop 1 can chickpeas by hand (do not puree). Add chickpeas to oat/pineapple mixture. Add: 1 onion, diced, 3 Tbsp olive oil, 2 eggs beaten, 1 tsp salt (can also add some diced vegetables if desired - peppers, zucchini…) Few shakes of hot sauce (optional), 2 cups grated cheese (cheddar or mozzarella), ½ cup fresh cilantro or parsley. Divide mixture into two prepared loaf pans. Bake at 350 for 40 minutes. Second loaf can be frozen and cooked at a later date (thaw first).
Made this subbing celery and carrots and used chickpea flour instead of the oat flour. So easy and delicious! Thank you for this incredible recipe. Love the yogurt and hot sauce idea as a topping. Good eats!
Delicious recipe. I added more vegetables I had on hand, kale, spinach and peppers, and it turned out great. Thanks for the great recipes. I will be making more batches.

Yet another recipe of yours that will be a staple in my house. Thank you!
I just made this and so good - another of your five star recipes! I had to make a few substitutions based on what I had available. No zucchini, peas or fresh tomatoes but I did have and added sautéed fresh red pepper and a can of small dice tomatoes with jalapeno. I used all cashew milk (no water) and cheddar cheese. With my oven, cooked for 50 minutes. Yummy! Was a great side with soup last night and perfect as a breakfast bar this morning!!!

I made this recipe for breakfast-in the oven now-today(2/20/22). I substituted vegan cheddar and mozzarella cheese for the dairy cheese and equivalent to 3 eggs I substituted with 1 tablespoon chia seed, 1 tablespoon egg substitute, 1 tablespoon ground flax seed and enough water; about 4 tablespoons and mix to ensure the mixture is sticky. I used 1/3 cup frozen riced cauliflower, 1/3 cup frozen peas and replaced the Parmesan cheese with fortified nutritional yeast. I added the frozen cauliflower and peas to the onions to the onions, mushrooms and garlic. I did not have any zucchini so I used an entire package of sliced mushrooms. OH, I added a handful of fresh cooked soybeans-Instant Pot. It looks similar. Thanks for the recipe start…love what you do with oats. I’ll let you know about the consistency and how it tastes.

I've just discovered your channel and like what you do very much. Quick oats and instant oats are less healthy alternatives to "old fashioned" thick cut oats but the best oats are oat groats. Have you tried any recipes with whole oat groats? A two-stage process wouldn't even be that bad. I cook oat groats in the Instant Pot; it takes 5 minutes at high pressure then left for a couple of hours before opening--I make them before going to bed and forget it till morning. Thus, the oats are already fully cooked and ready for incorporating into recipes with short cooking times. I have been experimenting with them in various ways to replace rice or other grains; I use them like bulgur and even turn them into pilaf but I'm always looking for new uses.
Definitely gonna make this! I added rolled oats to my breakfast baked mini muffin tin omelettes, it didn't change the flavor but added some texture and made them more filling!

This sounds like it could be a healthy picnic recipe. Served with a little green salad on the side and some chilled fruit juice to drink with it? Lovely! ☺👍
