As soon as they began taking off with Lashley winning the belt, they pulled the rug from underneath them...late-stage Vince McMahon was brutal...
I'm so pissed about it. The way Brock and Bobby finished felt like a slap in the face
Roman took both titles and unified them, now Cody has the belt
@@Brhoward31yeah it’s honestly sad for bobby. Dude put in the work and had a dream match for some with lesnar to have a rivalry like that. Could’ve been better, though I partly blame triple HHH for their last match. Should’ve been a war
@Hajun554 can you imagine a lions den match with them? I hate using racism as an excuse but wwe needs to fix it.
Mans is racist. Period.
Hurt Business was one of the BEST things during the pandemic era of WWE
"Plandemic"
Stop the cap the group was absolute mid
Interesting
@@allstarcom0615Shut Up
But the Bloodline took over after the Thunderdome officially closed, John Cena return, Brock Lesnar return, the Hurt Business was history.
I always felt that since the beginning of Shelton's career WWE's plan was always "how could we use this guy to get other people over".
I agree every excuse they give is bs
Shelton Benjamin - Underutilized & one of the best wrestlers of his time, should have been pushed more. If only Vince left Hurt Business in different hands.
Vince was absolute dogshit towards the end of his reign
@@ifgwelfHe was dogshit way before that.
Vince doesn't see black guys as equals. I'm not trolling.
The hurt business was the best thing about raw they should’ve stayed way longer
I 100% agree with you on that
Facts 💯
Dude The Hurt Business was literally Bobby Lashley and Jobbers, you guys did not care about Cedric and Benji you just thought they looked good in suits.
@MajinUltraEgo That's like saying we didn't care about Priest and Rhea when the Judgment day first started, if they got disbanded as early as The Hurt Business did theres no telling how far along they wouldve gotten or if theyd even still be signed to WWE. Lashley was obviously the star, but the main point was to help elevate the others just how Judgment Day elevated Priest, Rhipley, and Dom..
@@MajinUltraEgoif we’re talking strictly about talent Shelton is a better in ring wrestler than Bobby will ever be. The only reason Bobby was booked like he’s been booked is not because of his talent, but because of the way he looks. Bobby is horrible on the mic just like Brock. Bobby can’t wrestle his way out of a wet paper bag. Shelton is a really good wrestler who was misused and never got the push his talent deserved.
HURT BUSINESS VS BLOODLINE.
I was looking for this comment before I wrote it 😆
Lashley vs Roman
Shelton & Cedric vs The Usos
MVP vs Heyman
How they never did this is insane
MVP even recently said that the new Bloodline is a rip off of them.
We'll probably never see MVP on TV again
@@PressPauseProductionsWELL… how bout now??😂😂 AEW IT IS
@@Karterwolff😂😂good one
Wow I didn't realize Team Angle was only together for that short of a time. Felt like they were around way longer especially in their feud with Brock.
Yeah, their total TV time with Kurt was even a lot shorter too. Even Kurt himself wanted the duration to be a bit longer.
@@RainbowRoadCrashTestyeah team angle only lasted like 2 months or less
@zlord1199 nah bruv like 10 months easy, it ran from before summerslam to just after wrestlemania. They're break angle was how they didn't visit kurt
@@zlord1199 With Kurt Angle in the picture, we could say 2-3 months. And for half of that time span Kurt was recovering from neck surgery. When he finally returned from injury, he pretty much fired them both from Team Angle. The stable pretty much lasted from December 26, 2002 all the way til June 12, 2003; So it lasted for about 5½ months. For a stable that didn't last long, it certainly left a big impact and were involved in some pretty memorable moments in that short period of time.
Angle didn't have luck with stables in WWE.
Between Team ECK (Edge, Christian, Kurt), Team Reck (Rhyno, Edge, Christian, Kurt) and Team Angle all those factions together probably ran for a little over a year.
Hurt Business was a great faction. It should've had a proper run, but they went with The Bloodline instead, would've liked a Hurt Business & The Bloodline feud.
What a humble spirit Shelton Benjamin wrestler skills and talents I plead the blood of Jesus
WWE higher-ups rately know what to do with Black American factions. Hurt Business was a great faction that should've lasted years.
Team angle was dope. I didn't watch too many of the hurt business.
New Day carried WWE’s tag team division for years and years.
The Nation was one of the best groups of the Attitude Era
@ITSHIM1294 New Day was a goddamn minstrel show who only held the tag belts so long as a way for the company to stick it to Demolition. And the Nation was just fodder for DX to get over and push the Rock. WWE has a crappy record of giving legit pushes to serious black wrestling characters.
@@MISTERPERFECT3806 who cares if they aren’t serious? A wrestler’s job is to entertain, it’s called World Wrestling ENTERTAINMENT for a reason. Of course The Nation was for The Rock, every stable has a breakout star, the others weren’t on his level
@@ITSHIM1294true like shield and Seth Rollins😅
Vince to Shelton: *"THAT'S A VERY PERTINANT POINT MICHAEL TARVER, HOW ABOUT A NEXUS 2.0???"*
‘What happened there with the Hurt Business?’
Vince McMahon. Enough said.
When Shelton went to NXT and Dusty Rhodes overseeing the Brand. Shelton went into Gold Standard Mode. Dusty knew what to do with with Shelton. It Worked! Dusty knew how to Book and bring out the best in Wrestler’s! That’s why he was so respected by everyone! Shelton mentioned that in an past interview while impersonating Dusty. Dusty another good mind for Wrestling.
The Hurt Business was so good. They never should have been broken up.
Man I loved The Hurt Business
What killed The Hurt Bussiness was most likely just Vince going "Im bored of this now, fire them." Late stage Vince really was that fickle.
Well all the guys in hurt business were old. 40 and older. You Not creating future stars with any of them so it was time to focus on young upcoming stars soI understand where Vince was coming from.
@@zlord1199 Good point! But I still think it would have been much better to let THB run it's course rather than pull the plug in the middle of it.
@@zlord1199 This whole age issue is overstated and not all that valid of a reason when it comes to printing money! lol Lots of young talent that don't even hold a candle to THB so are we really to believe that Vinny Mac would rather lose money on talent just because they're younger? Some of those guys got let go too! lol
He’s not lying team angle are a legendary team that seemed like they could of had a major payoff creating both Charlie and Shelton as top stars but Vince didn’t like Charlie as he’s had questionable gimmicks following there split where as for Shelton it was a case of Vince not liking his mic skills
Vince also just hated tag team wrestling in general.
This interview has a gold standard.
Another sad case of, “weren’t meant to get over.” The group was too good.
MVP was the only good talker of the group
I never wanted someone to be a WWE world champion so bad. Shelton, Barrett, Kennedy,Rusev, Cesaro were guys I am upset never got to be world champion especially when there were 2 world titles like now.
The Hurt Business 2.0!! Shelton Benjamin! Bobby Lashley! MVP! Cedric Alexander! Giant Omos! Apollo Crews!
Team Angle was a gem. Benjamin and Haas were awesome.
World's Greatest Tag Team!
without question. this is one of the biggest reasons i wish triple h took over sooner because he definitely would have done more with them and i’d like to think more with shelton specifically. sad it ended the way it did
What mvp has said in the last week kinda contradicts what you’re saying
@@triplehfan609 what did mvp say?
@@blakeandrews9496 he said triple h said no to a hurt business reunion.
@@triplehfan609 i mean a reunion at this point vs continuing the story as it was are two different things so i think it could’ve gone either way
@@triplehfan609Didnt Lashley take out Shelton and Cedric and then join up with the Street Profits? A reunion makes no sense. They never shouldve broken them up in the first place.
For some reason Vince Mac Creepy and his son in law Triple Racist first break up The Hurt Business for no reason and now say there's no reason to ever put them together????
The Hurt Business was straight 🔥🔥 & a modern day reimagined wrestling version of the Untouchable DEATHROW Records !! You had MVP (Nice version of SUGE Knight) , Lashley (Jacked up Dr. DRE), Shelton (Obviously the Snoop DOGGY Dogg of the group) , Cedric Alexander (Combination of Daz Dillinger & Kurupt) & who knows if they stayed together & feuded with the Hitrow they could have gotten Isaiah SWERVE Scott to switch sides & become the 2PAC of that group !!!
😂😂nice way of viewing it
Nice interview
Shelton could been world champion with or without a faction but he isn’t John Cena or even his former teammate Brock Lesnar. Cena was the face of WWE and now a superstar in Hollywood entertainment and Lesnar still sell tickets something Benjamin doesn’t have.
I remember when they came out, and Shelton had his mask on. And then when he realized, he was like.. "shit!'.. and took it off, lol
That is a big in problem in pro wrestling breaking up the teams too soon
The Hurt Business was so sick, I legitimately could've seen them becoming as powerful as prime Bloodline.
It was the worst time to break them up too. Lashley had just won the WWE title. I also feel Vince hated Cedric. I remember when Heyman was heading creative of Smackdown and tried to push Cedric against AJ Styles, but apparently Vince shut it down and AJ squashed him instead.
The hurt business the right way .Shelton Benjamin,Bobby lashley,MVP,and the street profits no faction could touch them period
Can't forget B-Fab.
@@JUSLOFIwhat does Bfab do..coz she rarely fight is she injured or ..just curious
@@tumweonlycommentary2797 I like looking at her. that's all.
Hurt Business could’ve had a long term story like the Bloodline.. 2 years together solid.. 3rd year MVP starts getting jealous of Lashley .. Turns on him .. Starts his own group .. 4th year , Cedric starts to get hungry , wants to become the leader
We needed that business
I agree 100%. They broke them up way too soon. Vince McMahon gave the Nation of Domination a BS reason too.
100% right. Also think WGTT should’ve had a longer and more successful run when they got back together in ‘06.
i wanted bloodline vs hurt business at survivor series that year and i feel the departure of the hurt business was to shift focus towards the bloodline and bobby prioritize
im not taking away anything from either individuals and their talents however some of the storylines can intertwine with each other
“His comment was… we are” alr know what he wanted to say lmao
A stable of black guys just being authentic black guys are not supposed to get over.
The Hurt Business should've lasted at least a year. MVP was the only one without a title, but the group still worked. Even if the Bloodline were to come out as a more dominant faction, there still could've been faceoffs between the two factions. Huge missed opportunity. The disrespect.
They didnt want black man to take over the wrestling business
Agree that Team Angle should have lasted a lot longer, but to play devils advocate. Kurt was hurt and off TV, and then he returned as a babyface(which made sense). Can see the reasoning for ending that, whereas the Hurt Business ending was absolutely stupid.
He didn’t need to turn baby face or all of them could’ve just turned face. They weren’t stuck to the point of having break them up
@@user-qm8hk9zb1p they were needed as heels since Eddie and Chavo were the stars of the tag team division at the time.
Loved the HB!
The worst thing is you knew it would happen. Wade Barrett said Vince hates factions, and the 1st chance he got to split them up he was taking. No amount of pleading from Lashley and MVP was going to change that.
Vince may not have liked them getting more over organically like they did. He never liked things that weren’t his ideas getting over. F Vince
Lol actually the Hurt Business started when Vince got rid of Paul Heyman as head writer who wasn’t using them at all.
@@ITSHIM1294sure bud. Cope for daddy Vince
@@JShadow6661 lmao keep crying for a stable of boring midcarders. Not even daddy HHH wanted to bring it back
That was crazy to break the hurt business up
Team angle and hurt business should’ve been more, hopefully they make a comeback before it’s too late
One of the greatest of all times just denied clear full understanding and the truth I plead the blood of Jesus
Apparently a lot of the idea these guys were pitching to Trips and Creative were instead used for the Bloodline!
WWE even teased a Hurt Business reunion, last year? Before Shelton got cut. SMH. Such potential.
I thought a great way they could have developed the Hurt Business would have been if Shelton actually did buddy up with Brock Lesnar based on their past history. In kayfabe it would have just been a veteran being opportunistic and latching onto a big name who doesn't really need his help, but in terms of the booking it would have given Lashley more good guy credit dealing with both Lesnar and a traitorous former friend.
And it would have been an excuse to give Shelton a bonafide main event spotlight at this stage in his career so that's a plus.
Unpopular Opinion: The Hurt Business sucked. I'm sorry but what do you remember about them other than winning gold? Because the only thing I can recall was The Hurt Business coming in as heels then talking to Adam Pearce ONCE and seemingly becoming faces because of RETRIBUTION, which was supposed to be a whole thing and wasn't. Like they might have had more than one match against them but I honestly can't remember. I don't even remember the first match.
Kinda hard to remember anything good about something that doesn't interest you! lol But lots of people remember several things they liked about them.
@@hugejackedman3447 not just good, I can't remember anything bad either except maybe how they ended.
@@RomaroBrandon Ha! I get ya! That just goes to show that they REALLY didn't move you at all. Only thing I remember about Hulk Hogan and John Cena is that I don't like them! 🤣
Yeah honestly, it really wasn't that great how they went about it. Kinda like they were trying to figure it out as they went along... but yeah. They had a good run I guess! lol
They started to bring cedric back and put him with ashante but they haven't been around other than the video package and being in the crowd recently. I feel like HHH would give them another run if shelton came back.
Vince couldn’t leave quick enough!!
Vince should of stayed

@@Noah-jb4zl na he still does, screw vince
Hurt Business wasn’t supposed to get over in the first place
Maybe 1 of the wrestlers in the faction could have learned to cut a promo. Judgement Day was going to be finished but they all improved on the mic. Hurt business they all cut as bad a promo today as they did 20 years ago. MVP is the only good promo
Now the hurt business in aew not end 🔥
Agreed with Shelton. Both the Hurt Business and Team Angle ended way too soon. Team Angle could've added one more enforcer type.
Literally the Bloodline before the Bloodline was a thing and they coulda done MUCH more but hey at least they did get some good title reigns out of it before they blew it up
Bobby Lashley was an amazing figurehead for the Hurt Business. He just didn't become as iconic as Roman or Brock in the 2020+ era. That always annoyed me - he had the epic theme, the ripped muscles, the awesome crew, Shelton and MVP both had great themes... I just feel they didnt get deep enough longterm stories to get respect (which I blame Vince for).
One of the best factions of all time and they didnt even last 5 years.
They should've stayed together longer The hurt business Was 🔥
Hurt Business could’ve been the Bloodline of Raw and so much more. Only reason I can see is Vince felt threatened another stable could get more popular than his golden goose.
Relax, the Hurt Business would have never been as big as The Bloodline.
@@ITSHIM1294 No but they would've gotten a much better storyline out of it by feuding with them.
When Shelton said when he spoke to Vince, and asked him "why?".... I mean.... its VINCE.
I hate that they broke them up,and they have not gone as far as they could have with the hurt business they didn't even scratch the surface 😒
Hurt business was ended because of the bloodline. There was like 3 stables Bloodline, oc, hurt business. I think hurt business was sacrificed for bloodline angle. Wish that they just had both. But ah well.
Bring the Hurt Business to TNA or AEW
Both breaking up the Hurt Business and not reforming the Hurt Business was beyond stupid. As well as letting Shelton go again
Vince had a problem pushing the Hurt Business even though they were over?
I think they declined the foursome with janel grant and Vince punished them for it and gave all their material to the bloodline
They should've put him with Heyman again
BRING BACK THE HURT BUSINESS!!!
It wasn’t meant to get over and it got over Vince kills those things
Lashley finally won the title and rather than having them dominate as a unit protecting their champion they had Lashley believe they were now beneath him.
Didn't even have a feud, just him squashing both Cedric and Shelton and that was the end of it. If anything they should've broke up after Lashley lost the title, not when he won it.
Cedric may have been too small to have a real competitive match against Lashley but Shelton could've. The issue was he was so poorly built as a singles guy at that point that the damage couldn't be fixed.
it's crazy cause MVP is also blaming HHH for not bringin the Hurt Business back as well. So something seems off
Bobby Lashley was a monster then
Fued with Brock was the last time when Bobby felt like a monster
Now Bobby is just there to fill the time with new alliance going no where
Plus injury has held their booking
Miss the almighty Bobby
Team Angle / Worlds Greatest Tag Team should have been together for so much longer. Vince just never liked tag team wrestling. Thought it was a southern wrestling thing.
Team angle was less THAN A YEAR??? wow...
I'm still goddamn salty about how abruptly they ended the Hurt Business. Damn they really deserved a much better run.
It's a shame especially because they literally carried Raw during the pandemic era and never got a real opportunity to be great
They definitely left money on the table with the hurt business...
It was obvious Vince was behind that
It’s not a head scratcher. 4 black guys all champions and there was no dancing 🕺 or weird stuff and we good in the ring. The didn’t fit what some of the fans expected or thought of black wrestlers.
The testament sucks. I never witnessed the hurt business cause i wasn't watching at the time. Lets petition to bring it back??
Hurt business was hurt by the bloodline. They were essentially the same faction, but in different shows. I think they didn’t want the same storyline
Shelton and lashley should’ve been tag champs so Bobby could’ve won grand slam championship before leaving
Man team angle was for sure ended too quickly
Triple H booking 101: All Japanese wrestlers in a faction, all Hispanic wrestlers in a faction, all Black wrestlers in a faction. Logan Paul matches must include at least one influencer or athlete
What about The Judgement Day?
Triple H sucks at booking
Hurt Business got screwed over, simple and straight. WWE wanted the Bloodline as the top stable, and HB got shafted. God forbid they have a group of serious, credible black wrestlers in a top stable.
Hurt Business was capable of a lot more. What a waste, WWE!! Hope they reunite.
If there bring back hurt business it should be OMOS, OBAFEMI, ALEXANDRIA, MVP& FORD
i'm not going to lie i thought the Hurt Business was going to be at the Evolution faction level and i thought Cedric or Shelton would out shine Bobby and would turn on them like randy and triple h
But the corny ass New Day got pushed to the moon
Well they were top merch sellers for years
Them merch checks
Facts. New Day were clowns.
Remember the Faction disbanded because Vince didn't want to Shelton or Cedric...😒😒😒
Why is MVP not on tv now?
It reeked of spiteful Vince tbh, maybe I'm completely wrong. Hurt Business remains a huge What If? in wrestling.
You can blame Vince McMahon for that. Vince always start's something but doesn't finish it
WWE ended The Hurt Business prematurely, but they were immortalised by Griselda Records! 🙌🏾💯
Team Angle was definitely ended prematurely. But it's McMahon. He always thought he knew better than the fans, which is why the product sucked the last 15 years that he was there.
Fans don’t even know what they want. They’re fickle. Listening to the fans is the dumbest thing a promoter could do and by fans i mean the IWC, the ones who flip burgers for a living but know how to run a billionaire company.
Im gonna be honest without Lashley being champ and leading this group and Roman heel turn covid wwe was almost it for me forever.
