So many women face this kind of brutality in India, so does this mean that this has become common and as a result the punishment should be less severe? According to Section 64 of the Indian Penal Code, the punishment for rape is life imprisonment. It has been proven that Sanjay committed rape, and he has been punished accordingly. However, the subsequent allegations pertain to murder and torture. Whether he acted alone or was instigated, or if others were involved, are questions the investigating agencies have not yet answered conclusively. Therefore, one cannot execute someone without arriving at a definitive conclusion. The media is misinterpreting the situation. If Sanjay dies, it will be impossible to determine whether there is any actual connection between Sandeep Ghosh and the officer-in-charge of Tala police station in this case. It will also remain unclear whether corruption or the Chest Medicine Department's lobby is linked to this incident. Additionally, there is contradictory expert opinion on whether the seminar room was the actual place of occurrence, and investigators have not reached a conclusive decision on this matter either. The court has made its decision after consulting with experts. Hence, the media should carefully analyze this judgment before commenting. Under Indian law, the punishment for rape is not the death penalty, while it is for murder. The plaintiffs still have the democratic right to appeal to a higher court, and they are expected to do so. There are some very crucial questions which are not answered by CBI as well as state 1. As per CFSL(central forensic science lab) report the place of occurrence is not that seminar room. Why CBI do not investigate further in this matter 2. Abhaya's parents were informed about the suicide by a non-medical assistant over the phone. Why did she talk about suicide and how did she understand it as a non-medical person? Did someone tell her to tell this? Why is her statement not included in the CBI charge sheet? 3. Abhaya's parents were kept outside the seminar room for 3 hours, why? At whose command they were not allowed to enter? Why were there so many outsiders in the seminar room at that time and what were they doing? Why is there no mention of the CCTV footage of the incident in the charge sheet? 4.Sanjay Rai's DNA was not found in the nail sample of the victim, although the victim's body was bruised, and Sanjay Rai's DNA was not found in the victim's fingernail sample. So if Sanjay Rai is the only culprit, how is this possible? 5.In the CFSL report, the DNA of a person other than Sanjay Rai was found in the nipple swab, why is he not being investigated? 6.Other than Sanjay Rai were seen on the chest department's CCTV from 2.30 to 4.30 pm (the probable time of Abhaya's death), but none of them were identified. Sanjay Rai is the only one identified, what is the reason for not identifying others? Didn't the investigators try to identify the rest? 7.Autopsy samples were taken on 9th but sent to Central Forensic Lab on 14th. Why so late? Sanjay Rai was arrested on the night of the 9th, but his bloodstained clothes were brought from the barracks on the 12th. Why so late again? Some information has not been changed or lost? 8.The Central Forensic Lab report found DNA of at least one other person in the victim's genital and anal samples. who is he The question is that despite this information being submitted to the CBI on August 21st, no progress in the investigation was noticed and if there was another woman or someone else involved, why has the CBI not been able to find any trace of them yet? Did the CBI even try to find them? 9.The house adjacent to the seminar room was vandalized by showing the renovation notice, which was identified as the main incident site by the Kolkata Police itself. According to the CFSL report, the wall of the house where live electrical wires were also broken. Irrespective of whoever signed the renovation notice, why did the first demolition work start from that disputed part of Chesh Department when there are so many buildings of the college and what was the reason for so much activity? 10.According to the information presented by the CBI, there is no doubt that Sanjay Rai is guilty, but how is it possible for him alone to do the massive injuries inside and outside the body, eyes, genitals in that short period of time? CBI in the first charge sheet accused Sandeep Ghosh and Abhijit Mondal of being involved in the falsification of evidence and arrested them, but why is the investigation process not going forward by releasing the supplementary charge sheet quickly? Center and state setting theory which is discussed in the media or in the public then should be assumed to be true somewhere?

The elder sister of the cabin crew was my best friend and also one of my students. They were truly wonderful people. The tragic irony is that the crime occurred on November 12, 2023, and yet, a year and a half later, the trial has not even begun. The murderer remains in custody, but no death sentence has been handed down. How long will it take for justice to be served? Will it be two years, three years, or even longer-five, ten, or fifteen? In just 15 minutes, he took the lives of four innocent individuals, but how long will it take to deliver justice for them?

I am astonished how the punishment is related to the rarity of the incident. So many women face this kind of brutality in India, so does this mean that this has become common and as a result the punishment should be less severe? According to Section 64 of the Indian Penal Code, the punishment for rape is life imprisonment. It has been proven that Sanjay committed rape, and he has been punished accordingly. However, the subsequent allegations pertain to murder and torture. Whether he acted alone or was instigated, or if others were involved, are questions the investigating agencies have not yet answered conclusively. Therefore, one cannot execute someone without arriving at a definitive conclusion. The media is misinterpreting the situation.
If Sanjay dies, it will be impossible to determine whether there is any actual connection between Sandeep Ghosh and the officer-in-charge of Tala police station in this case. It will also remain unclear whether corruption or the Chest Medicine Department's lobby is linked to this incident. Additionally, there is contradictory expert opinion on whether the seminar room was the actual place of occurrence, and investigators have not reached a conclusive decision on this matter either. The court has made its decision after consulting with experts.
Hence, the media should carefully analyze this judgment before commenting. Under Indian law, the punishment for rape is not the death penalty, while it is for murder. The plaintiffs still have the democratic right to appeal to a higher court, and they are expected to do so. The opinion of the higher court will be crucial in this case.

There are some very crucial questions which are not answered by CBI as well as state
1. As per CFSL(central forensic science lab) report the place of occurrence is not that seminar room. Why CBI do not investigate further in this matter
2. Abhaya's parents were informed about the suicide by a non-medical assistant over the phone. Why did she talk about suicide and how did she understand it as a non-medical person? Did someone tell her to tell this? Why is her statement not included in the CBI charge sheet?
3. Abhaya's parents were kept outside the seminar room for 3 hours, why? At whose command they were not allowed to enter? Why were there so many outsiders in the seminar room at that time and what were they doing? Why is there no mention of the CCTV footage of the incident in the charge sheet?
4.Sanjay Rai's DNA was not found in the nail sample of the victim, although the victim's body was bruised, and Sanjay Rai's DNA was not found in the victim's fingernail sample. So if Sanjay Rai is the only culprit, how is this possible?
5.In the CFSL report, the DNA of a person other than Sanjay Rai was found in the nipple swab, why is he not being investigated?
6.Other than Sanjay Rai were seen on the chest department's CCTV from 2.30 to 4.30 pm (the probable time of Abhaya's death), but none of them were identified. Sanjay Rai is the only one identified, what is the reason for not identifying others? Didn't the investigators try to identify the rest?
7.Autopsy samples were taken on 9th but sent to Central Forensic Lab on 14th. Why so late? Sanjay Rai was arrested on the night of the 9th, but his bloodstained clothes were brought from the barracks on the 12th. Why so late again? Some information has not been changed or lost?
8.The Central Forensic Lab report found DNA of at least one other person in the victim's genital and anal samples. who is he The question is that despite this information being submitted to the CBI on August 21st, no progress in the investigation was noticed and if there was another woman or someone else involved, why has the CBI not been able to find any trace of them yet? Did the CBI even try to find them?
9.The house adjacent to the seminar room was vandalized by showing the renovation notice, which was identified as the main incident site by the Kolkata Police itself. According to the CFSL report, the wall of the house where live electrical wires were also broken. Irrespective of whoever signed the renovation notice, why did the first demolition work start from that disputed part of Chesh Department when there are so many buildings of the college and what was the reason for so much activity?
10.According to the information presented by the CBI, there is no doubt that Sanjay Rai is guilty, but how is it possible for him alone to do the massive injuries inside and outside the body, eyes, genitals in that short period of time? CBI in the first charge sheet accused Sandeep Ghosh and Abhijit Mondal of being involved in the falsification of evidence and arrested them, but why is the investigation process not going forward by releasing the supplementary charge sheet quickly? Center and state setting theory which is discussed in the media or in the public then should be assumed to be true somewhere?

The Indian judiciary system is failing us. My best friend and her entire family were brutally murdered in Udupi, a case that you may have seen in the news-the Udupi quadruple murder case. The perpetrator had an obsession with a flight attendant from Air India, who rejected him, leading him to murder an entire family. The elder sister of the cabin crew was my best friend and also one of my students. They were truly wonderful people.
The tragic irony is that the crime occurred on November 12, 2023, and yet, a year and a half later, the trial has not even begun. The murderer remains in custody, but no death sentence has been handed down. How long will it take for justice to be served? Will it be two years, three years, or even longer-five, ten, or fifteen? In just 15 minutes, he took the lives of four innocent individuals, but how long will it take to deliver justice for them?
