I think folks born late 70s early 80s are so spoiled when it comes to music- we came late enough to grow up to hearing the original great songs and early enough to get the best music of the 80s and 90s. Those decades have some of the most memorable music that will last forever
@Simon_Sez well, true. But the point he's making is we grew up in the days of vcr an DVD. Ehen movies with sound tracks came out very slowly 🐌. So much so we all knew every lyric to every song in every movie. An this continued into the late 90s too. It wasn't till netflix an ipods an spotty in our cars that everything changed music pace wise. An speaking from a personal perspective myself, iv seen every movie ever made an readied on vcr an that was either in movie theaters or made straight to Video. Times were much easier back then to keep up with everything ever. Not mention cds an cassette tapes came out alot slower too. For a while. An there was MTV an vh1 when it was actually music tv. 🎶 all day every day. This generation would be hard pressed to even try an catch up to me movie wise 🙄 let alone music tracks within those. Better plan for a year vacation atleast, just to get started lol. An I hope you don't little kid movies like care bears an she ra an g I Joe, transformers pound puppies pop eye an bugs bunny an fern gully an . . I could go in for days an still not be done lol. But ya we basically the privilege of not only taking oue time with learning everything, everything music was also all around us along the way to help us down that road while we learned. From commercials, to tv series, late night talk shows an so on as all the big names music songs came out an became big too. Now a days you got streaming apps with no adds, or filtered adds from thr company of thr said app, so their curratted. An you got adds on tv that's much more politically aware thrrn what peile used to be ok with ad well. Meaning: your not gonna get the same free expression musical add experienced we got because of thr fcc. Ya honestly in alot of ways he's not wrong. We also had thr privilege of having 8 travk tapes an vinyl records being thr norm back then too, an wr had our parents collections to freely go through as well. There pretty much wasn't anything wrong couldn't get our hands on an learn about back then, very easily. Which is saying something considering this was all pre enternet.
@@Splatz007 the only point both of you seem to be making is that you personally liked things when you were younger more than you like things now 🤷♂️ again, that’s nostalgia. It’s not a fact that anything you said made that era “better” lol anyone could name a bunch of things about technology and entertainment in any era and say it’s “better” for random reasons. At the end of the day, it’s just an opinion, and opinions are often formed through emotions. In these instances, it’s emotional attachment we all have to the past. I was born in 1964 so I light up over these covers and samples! When Mariah came out with, “Fantasy”I kept saying; “That’s Tom Tom Club”
Ever since I came across your videos I leave in stitches! Some of these songs m I have not heard in a minute. I was cleaning my house listening to Michael McDonald because of your videos😂😂😂
GenX kills it with music, there will never be another generation in music like that.
Actually tail end boomer into gen x
Hey the 90s were pretty amazing even with all the sampling.
Yup
Just learned im Jones gen actually.
Micro gen between X and Boom
Wow.
Absolutely 💯!!
You really know your music girlie💯👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
Words AND ALL 😅
GenX danced to that groove without stupidly using the n-word. In fact, one of my fondest memories from high school was everyone, of every race, doing the electric slide to that, while on a field trip.
that's awesome. if only music wasn't trash now
@@priscillajimenez27 what’s trash to your ears is music to others. You do realise that literally every generation there are fogeys tut tutting about how music now days is terrible and how back in the day it was different?
Good old days!
Your zeroing in on the "N"is a zero.
Not an N word in sight.. the hallmark of a good electric slide. Right?
This woman has serious comedic talent... somebody needs to put her in a sitcom.. like NOW
Millennials were raised on the original song too. If you were born in the early 80’s you heard it.
nah
Exactly. Born in 83' and I was raised to old school music. If it was poppin' in the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's I heard all of it.
Born in 82 n thought the same
Yes
True lol but we wanted to know the original song as well as the remix, this new generation doesn’t care.
I’m a 71 year old baby boomer and I enjoy your videos. Love the comparison of the younger generations. 😊
These are epic 😂 I love seeing the music through the different generations. Us oldies definitely had it better as far as sick beats go - they're still using them today like they're brand new!
Love how she nails the three generations in looks and body language. Very talented
Class of 1986 checking in, SPOT ON. Tom Tom Club! Amazing to see how much our music is still influential decades later ❤
That's right! Another 86 here.
Ok, are y'all cool with the old lady hoodie? I love this channel but that hoodie isn't necessary.
Damn I was born in 86...😂😂
@@tiffanymoore1795 Woohoo!! That's a spectacular year to be born 😆 I feel the same when I see posts by those who were adults in 1968, the year I was born. Craziness!
I'm also Class of 86, born in '68!
I'm soooooo proud to be Gen X!!!
Gen X here! That was the best song! We all knew EVERY WORD of the Song In the 80’s❤️
I knew all three. Music lover. Great short videos you have. Makes me sing and smile st you.
That's how my 15yr daughter looks at me when I make her listen to the original song. And jam hard when I do it. 😂..
😂😂😂
Omg.... that's exactly what i told my 15year daughter! Esp abt that Arianna Grande song..." seven rings". I told her nope, the original is called "The sound of music"
The original or the other original lol
Yes! They be loving the original sound. I like to see their faces. They think they are the originators of everything. ✌️❤️🍷
LOL you rock!!
I use to roller skate to the original.. classic! Love your vids!
same
Oh no me too! Lol
Absolutely.
Yes 😂 ROLLER SKATES 🛼
@@queno803 That jam got everybody on the floor for a twin spin 🥳 with their skates
“James Brown…James Brown” One of the best songs to roller skate to 🛼
@CallMeAvocado Now reading this it’s stuck in my head 😩🤣
Yessss!! You hit them with the Tom Tom Club Genius of love!! Solid!!🫡🫡🫡
“Old lady ish “ 🤣🤣🤣💀💀💀
I would listen to my daddy’s Tom Tom Club album and blast this song in the basement 😂. Good times!
I was more Lenard skinner, kinda guy
@@heathtucker778Lynyrd Skynyrd you mean? Or is that someone else?
@box0choco593 yeah I misspelled it lol
@@heathtucker778 Oh okay lol
I think folks born late 70s early 80s are so spoiled when it comes to music- we came late enough to grow up to hearing the original great songs and early enough to get the best music of the 80s and 90s. Those decades have some of the most memorable music that will last forever
Ikr if only we had the opportunity to be on don't forget the lyrics. So much easy money 💰
Yeah, I think that’s how everyone typically feels about the era they grew up in 😂😂😂😂 it’s called nostalgia, and it happens to every generation lol
But hey, you’re entitled to feel like “he’s not wrong” about an opinion 🤷♂️ I’ll choose to realize that no one can be right or wrong about an opinion 👍
@Simon_Sez true. I was just saying we had easier access an more overall time in our generation to learn everything as it went along simply because everything went by at a much slower pace.
An I believe anyone would agree that everything went by slower pre enternet overall.
This woman is definitely a keeper, very pretty, good taste in music, she can dance, and she’s funny
OK sis tell em 👏🏾 👌🏾 🙌🏾 Gen XXXXXX ALL DAY ❤❤❤❤❤😂😂😂😂
The fact that she actually looks older in each one makes it better
We’re like fine wine baby. We get better with age🤩 Go my Gen/x sisters.👍
I know thats right i tell my kids that all the time 😎
🙌🏼🫶
that a lie that woman like to tell themselves.... good luck with the wall ;)
no cap😁
Wouldn't that be auto-cannibalism?
Thank you! I've been trying to remember this song for 30 years!!
I was listening to Tom Tom Club yesterday. This is one of those songs that never goes out of style
You nailed them all! Your videos are all genius! Mix of jam and comedy... genius! you are my new favorite!
Oh, wow that sample did go through a few generations. Great music never dies.
They're all great songs ❤
