Great video there brother, you should have been a teacher you know. Amazing how much knowledge you have about local history, and you present it in a way that involves all of us who watch. You have to do a follow up to this, it's too good not to. ATB from hot and sultry Aberystwyth 🙄 take care, Dave G.
Just to say that one of the caves at Dyserth was for the purpose of carrying the 1700's leat, sections of which are still visible, to the Talargoch mine and was intersected by the bigger cave at a later date. As kids we used to be able to get through to the other side of the cliff but it has long since been blocked at the eastern end
Ive done a video on the talargoch mines, i think you have been misinformed about the leat as i traced it course all the way from souce to the mines. Thanks for watching, check the walking through history video out about the talargoch mine, Atb Andy
@@andyoutdoors4350 Hi Andy, the leat I refer to is the 1750's leat which follows the footpath by Carreg Heilin behind the waterfall. It reappears below the Prestatyn walkway and continues to the road above Thorncliffe The leat that you documented is the 1844 leat built to supply the 50" engine.
Content - a joy to watch : back to some of your best ; but 360p max video resolution - is rather disappointing ... compared to your normal full HD resolution that invariably "blows me away" ! The mysterious Windsor " unnamed gravestone" is (surely?) more likely to be a boundary marker for their Majesties' Royal House of Windsor "Crown Estate" - which I believe covers significant parts of the immediate vicinity, under the patronage of HRH Charles - the Prince of Wales. Many thanks Andy - keep up the good work.
Apologies Andy - just noticed that the higher resolution streams are now functional in full HD. Typical of me - always releasing the clutch on my mouth & keyboard before putting my brain into gear.
@@jimhill4725 no problem mate, i hope you enjoyed this video and i do try to get the resolutions as close as i can get for my uploading, although RUclips will usually pick the best down load stream for your internet providers stream rate. The camera was filming in 1080p at the time. And i also edit these videos in HD. 1080
@@andyoutdoors4350 Ok (fair enough) - he's better than you when he's filming a whoop of gorillas attacking a pride of lions, but you're better than he is, when it comes to filming a culvert in Dyserth.
Great video. Used to visit Dyserth falls for a little day out when I was a kid. Had no idea what the waterway was like. What audio gear do you use? The audio on the video is brilliant. Can hear you perfectly even over really strong running water!
Usually i use a zoom H1 for the audio, but for this video i used a combination of the H1 zoom and my phone running an audio app called Voice recorder. Thanks for watching and your comment. ATB Andy
Hello .did a walk up to the trig point .was amazed I could hear crickets in the long grass .Not heard them for years x

Rewatched in full HD - so beautiful that :
( at times ) ,
you put Sir David Attenborough himself to shame .
