In today's time these are the kind of movies people love to watch.... Shahrukh's character was so nicely written....... No doubt why people badly want a sequel
Random thought- Everyone seems to be forgetting SRK's acting in Fan. I have always noticed this, that people always talk about Baazigar, Darr, Dil Se (which by itself is an underrated masterpiece), Devdas, Swades (one of the best Indian movie ever), Paheli, Chak de, My Name Is Khan, etc. Of course I am deliberately not mentioning any of the blockbusters here. Everyone knows them. But my point is, his acting in Fan- that was a class apart. That movie had some serious meta thing going on. No movie star would dare portray their real self on the silver screen- that exposes his privacy and deep-seated insecurities and leaves the star vulnerable. But SRK did just that. Then, SRK also portrays the fan who in some scenes tries to act like the star. And then, there were scenes in which SRK is portraying himself and acting like the fan- this was towards the end of the movie. So there's a lot of mind boggling meta layers that perhaps most of us could not comprehend, and hence, could not appreciate. But I am hopeful that in the days to come, Fan will be remembered as one of SRK's best performances.
