Indian Maritime University, Kolkata Campus, or as we like to call it DMET requires no introduction to the maritime world. Established in 1949, DMET has served as the pioneer of maritime education and training in India, since its inception. this institute through its well-trained faculties, cutting-edge equipment, the largest maritime workshop in Asia, and a state-of-the-art simulator system has maintained its position at the upper echelon of the maritime industry. DMET's alumni network boasts of not only maritime industry stalwarts but also, bureaucrats, administrators, entrepreneurs, and bankers all of whom have paved a path for the new generation of India to follow.
This is the story of the institute that has been a pivot around whom Indian maritime industry was formed and is still evolving.

I am extremely happy see a place from where I belong prosper so high in just a short span after I passed out in 2016 . I find many things improved from before now . Starting from Conditions of hostel to library , simulator room , Fire fighting simulation every thing has improved . It's also fascinating to see girls cadets joining such a strong curriculum which was previously considered only male domain . I hope nevertheless of all advancements in college the cadets still have the CORE DMET'IAN instinct in themselves . Keep the DMET Flag always high..... LOVE ❤️ FROM #7253

@@ghalot_aditya Definitely. This college and this profession has given me a never giving up attitude which I will be thankful throughout my life . I belong from a below middle class family . It is this profession which had helped my family to raise the standard of living . While working in this profession ever day my hands go dirty but The money and respect I had earned though this profession is pure White which gives me a peaceful sleep .
