It is healthy. After all, crying is a natural reaction. But a "man up" attitude isn't always bad either. Sometimes we need to stop emotion from getting in our way.
@@ironclad-m3q sure it isnt, you probably meant something like not letting your emotions control you but the "man up" talk and just repressing your emotions is pretty toxic and thats what the conversation is about. Its how you phrase things.
@@duckling4073 Just like anything in life, I'm not taking the man up thing as a whole, not as black nor white. Only parts that I think make sense. I think I already made it clear which part in my first comment.
I kind of wonder what guys say about getting hit to the groin versus geting hit to the nose. Honestly, as a woman, getting hit between the legs hurts like crazy. But I'd say nose is worse, knee almost dislocating feels equally bad, a nail flipping or the not normal period pains that send us to the ground .... when it comes to all humans then we can all relate to many terrible pains. The one reason why "ball to groin" stands out as "special", appears to be, that it's an instance where we socially agreed on men/boys having explicit permision to display pain in public and receiving public compassion without it (feeling AND receiving compassion) being framed as "weakness". Aka a remnant of so called "toxic masculinity" principles (or rather "unhealed masculine" principles). In future, the reactions will hopefully be caring and compassionate no matter who gets hurt where and under what circumstances!
As a guy who has been punched in the balls several times, along with punched in the nose/headbutt in the nose a few times, getting punched in the balls hurts way more than anything to the nose. Breaking my nose and deviating my septum ultimately hurt less than getting punched in the balls. There’s been a few times where I’ve gotten hot and cold flashes from it and it feels like my entire body is empty at the same time. Kind of contradicting the feeling of the body being empty, at the same time it feels like this constant lingering pain that refuses to go away after the initial strike to the balls. The majority of the time though, any sort of hit to that area, light or not, will illicit that lingering effect down there in that general area afterwards. To be fair though, they were some very accurate nut shots, and I’m not sure if anyone else I know has experienced the hot and cold flashes before.
I think the elders ask about marriage because they hope to witness it, not because to pressure anyone. I wish my grandparents could have been at my wedding. Missed them.
The guys answered like how most of us guys even here in the U.S react about that stuff. So it's not surprising how they were able to explain it with nothing too explicit, but they still did it good.
4:29 as a man. Getting hit in the balls is terrible. When you get hit the pain not only is in the balls part but the abdomen, balls, chest. It knocks the wind out of you. Immense pain you can’t breathe or talk. It’s like a kill switch for men.

Being a male in the U.S.A. I have been asked many times by girls. "Why are you not crying?" As for trying to get women to understand what it is like to be hit in the testicles. I tell them to imagine their breasts were shrunk to the size of a walnut but they still had the same number of nerves in them. Then place them between your legs in a very fragile bag that doesn't stay in one place.
Honestly getting hit in the boobs is already plenty painful. And given that getting kicked in the nuts is said to be a shorter équivalant of giving birth... I feel se bad for you guys. That's bad
