Blade was created in the Tomb of Dracula comic in 1973. So Blade was around in the comics for 25 years before finally getting this movie. Buffy the Vampire Slayer debuted in 1997 but Whedon, an avid comic fan, took a lot of inspiration for Buffy and Angel from the various Marvel comics: Tomb of Dracula, Vampire Tales, Morbius, Nightstalkers, Blade, Ghost Rider and other supernatural Marvel series.

Fun fact: Abraham Whistler, played by the late Kris Kristofferson, was actually created for Spider-Man: The Animated Series. He first appeared in the episode *Blade, the Vampire Hunter* (1995), a few years prior to the film, and is not from the comics. In the comics, Jamal Afari is the man who raised and taught vampire hunter Blade. There's also the character of Abraham Van Helsing, who looks a lot like Abraham Whistler from the movie. However, '90s Spider-Man introduced Abraham Whistler as a character, making him Blade's mentor and the one who builds all the gadgets that Blade uses. Abraham Whistler as a character has yet to appear in the comics. Most characters introduced in animated series later make their way into comic canon. Characters like Harley Quinn, X-23, HERBIE, and Terry McGinnis to name a few all started in animated series and eventually became iconic figures in the comics. Harley Quinn, in particular, was created in 1992 and then brought into the comics in 1999, written by Paul Dini, who also created her character. Her comic origin story closely follows the one established in the animated series, Batman: Harley Quinn (1999) #1 a great read. Maybe they'll add Abraham Whistler to the comics as a nod to Kris Kristofferson, who sadly passed away a few months ago.
In the comics Blade's main power is he is immune to vampire mind control, but the vampires didn't have mind control in the movie, so they skipped that.

I heard that Xena eventually beat a God.
... So did Buffy ahahah your point is valid
@@eviereacts she did? 😂 nice
Because of the first two Blade movies that made millions is what kept Marvel from completely going bankrupt and eventually birthed the MCU.
Thirty pieces of silver given to Judas Iscariot.
Many consider Blade 2 better then Blade 1.
16:11-16:24 😂
You're cool!
Blade is cool, but there is no vampire as badass as "KLAUS MIKAELSON" !
As you said you liked the idea of vampirism being treated like it's nothing more than a virus rather than lore or a "special gift", i would highly recommend the British version of the series "being human" Its about a vampire, werewolf, and a ghost trying to live as humanly as possible. The title really is spot on.
I genuinely can not recommend it enough.
("The last voyage of the demeter"
is a really "unholy" vampire movie that's also worth watching. It will creep the bejesus out of you !)
👍👍👍
Hm..Buffy vs blade blade half vampire Buffy half demon....would be an interesting fight...
Now you know why your mom said stick to Buffy!!!
For more vampires react to "Underworld" movies
you're pretty
After you've completed the Blade movies please look act the Underworld movies also, I think that you will enjoy them
There's 2 more movies.
31:50 more like bled lmao
The LINE!! THE LINE!!! You didn’t show us “the line”. 😢 nevertheless I love your reactions Evie
Oh no which line was it??🫨 so sorry😂
😂 I was just kidding you. Blade: “Some muthufuckas always tryin’ to ice skate uphill“. It’s as iconic to him as Terminator’s “I’ll be back” is in that movie.
Some reactors are always tryna ice skate uphill
@@cx3valenz421 oh that’s too bad it is funny!! I gotta be honest, i couldn’t quite make out what he said so I didn’t have much of a reaction, so it didn’t make the cut for RUclips🥲
