Lovely to see you back podcasting Suzanne. Thanks for letting us see what is on your needles, I think your pattern and yarn choices are great. I read The Nightingale last year and enjoyed it too. Xx
I hear you on the subject of retired husbands! Mine retired in September and although he's been working from home since the pandemic and was doing contract work before that so had periods of time at home, having him in the living room with me All. The. Time. has been a bit of a trial. We've also very recently turned a spare bedroom into a sewing room for me. I have the same Horn cabinet and we bought a sofa bed for the occasions when we have more guests. We also managed to squeeze in two Kallax units for me to store my fabric and patterns, and it's worked so well. You'll be able to really spread out when you make the pretty quilt for Rose!
I’m so pleased with my cabinet . I might need more storage but we will see . My husband will tell me to stop buying stuff . Stuff!! It was brilliant sewing the quilt but I need a walking foot I think 😊
HI Suzanne,,,,Nice to catch up,,,,,,Congrats on new baby!!!! I have way too much on Needles,,,and try and keep things simple ,,,,,!,! Maybe a pattern on a sock,,,,sometimes,,,,but this weekend,,,I frogged 4 projects,,,,and feels so good to have less on Needles,,,, Though,,,,Starting a cowl this week!!!! We love yarns,,, Love to read too,,,,!!! Elaine🏡🏡❄❄⛄⛄
Oh your sewing room envy envy envy and please don’t give up on your Nippy pattern you have made me want to do one.I’d love to see the finished result .
Hi Suzanne, don't know i missed this episode. Love your podcast, love listening to your voice. Is your yarny stuff in that room too, your sewing room is amazing, I have been meaning to read the nightingale, just ordered it, thank you
So pleased to see you back … Do you know I was going through my subscriptions list on youtube in January unsubscribing from ones where it wasn’t a good fit for me and I was thinking about the podcasts I was looking forward to hearing from and you were one that quickly came to mind .. I love your natural approach and just hearing you talk and share what was going well and what not so well .. its so lovely .. i don’t need to see lots of projects I just like someone to share the love of their craft and what they r doing or hoping to do and the journey on the way .. .. Thank you for your podcast … loved it
There are all sorts of podcasts out there and I think we find and explore ones , some of which we later keep some of which we let go …. For me u do something different, u r a keeper and for me u r one i will watch straight away without hesitation when u post a video … I enjoy ur company , u r comfortable to be around and u feel authentic and by that i mean u dont seem to be trying to be someone u aren’t fully .. I dont know if this is a common thing but some podcasts make me feel anxious ! The hosts are lovely and kindly but I think because their podcasts r so busy busy busy and they seem to have the feeling of a need to stimulate and keep the energy high all the time that I end up feeling a bit overwhelmed … With yours though , even though we are complete strangers, I feel like I have just popped round for a cuppa and am sitting in ur kitchen at your table listening to you share your knitting , your thoughts and reflections and I can hear your clock ticking in the background… i recognise your thoughts as things I might think to myself about my knitting and it is so relaxing and comforting and homely .. i feel i can relate to you … so please, remember that for some of ur viewers we dont want to watch super-expert knitters who can do 15 different cast ons, have limitless finances to spend on the latest trends and knit garments at the speed of light and issue podcasts that have the production value of a short film … they have their place .. but for me you win hands down because i enjoy ur company , i like the things u knit and i am interested in what ur experiences have been when u ve been knitting ..,… take care 🙃
Hi Suzanne, good to see you back! Loved all your projects, especially those for Rose. How exciting, a new grandchild. I have a Terrible Kindness on my book list. Have you read Unsettled Ground by Claire Fuller? I loved it and it is written so well. Pleas do not leave it too long before the next podcast. x
Thank you, I loved it. Your sewing room is wonderful. I love to read too and I believe I read that first book. Now I am reading, the Miss Marple books by Agatha Christie, and I have the new book call Marple, Twelve New Stories, my various authors. And now I am on The Second Murder in the Vicarage. I am really enjoying this one because not too long ago I had read The Murder at the Vicarage and especially liked it.
It’s great to see you podcast again Suzanne. I love your Rowan cardigan. I looked on Ravelry and there are projects that people are progressing and there are a couple of backs which people have done so you could match yours to see if it is correct (it looks good to me but you know if something isn’t right)…. I’ve just picked up a project which has been languishing in my craft room for nearly two years so I’m determined to finish it this week. I have far too many things on the go so I’m not allowing myself to cast on anything new until I’ve finished some projects. Thanks too for the book reviews.
It was so nice to see you today! Congratulations on your new granddaughter! I enjoyed seeing your projects! Who is the author of the book you're reading, A Terrible Kindness?
So good to see you. Love the clock ticking in the background. Your baby quilt for Rose is delightful, please, is the pattern available on line. Thank you.
@@the_kitchen_knitter thanks, I found them after I messaged you, by looking at the name on the quilt cover that you held up. Hope you don’t mind. I’m going to see if my local quilt store has that fabric, if not I’ll be sending away for the fabric as well. So now I’m copying you. !🤣
Great to see you back. As far as your problem with the back of your cabled cardigan is concerned, honestly I couldn’t spot it, without you pointing it out! It’s the back, and will probably be covered by your hair when you wear it and even if it isn’t, really no one will be looking that closely! I would just make it up and wear it.
Lovely to see you! It has been a while and I’m so glad you’re back at it again. Thank you for sharing your reading adventures at the end. I’m always looking for literary inspiration! Another wonderful episode Suzanne. .. thank you ❤
