You’re a total inspiration Olivia. You are the reason I tried quilting to begin with from your earlier quilt videos. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work.
Olivia thank you for the shout out! Barbara really sent you the perfect books. I understand having so many beautiful quilt designs calling to you but not having the time. I’m loving all the appliqué and I’m so glad you took the time to show us each individual block.
Thank you for sharing your Raven blocks. I have part of it “kitted” up, but it’s so encouraging to see what you have made. I love all the quilts you’re working on, or are going to start. Very inspiring. The fabrics behind you are amazing and so beautiful to look at. Thank you.
Very excited to see your quilt tube! I love love love your version of the crow quilt.... I've always passed it by because I didn't like the colors.....but now😮..... thanks for sharing. It is gorgeous! Also had to search for some of those books you showed. Keep this up please..... love quilts!
Olivia - your quilt is just gorgeous!! Can’t wait to see the blocks put together! Your color choices are just perfect! U think I like yours better than my original but wouldn’t give that one up either. Keep the quilt videos coming!! ❤
Thanks for the quilt eye candy! Your blocks are beautiful. I have just found a new quilter on RUclips and I am thoroughly enjoying her videos. The channel is called From Small Things.
Thank you for your lovely video. I can’t wait to see your Raven quilt finished!! LalaDee does great quilt videos you would enjoy as well as Flosstube videos.
Wow, your blocks are gorgeous. It is definitely worth having custom quilted. If you can find someone local ask to see some of their work. Not all quilters are up to something that special. I love the red blocks you are working on.
Thank you for sharing. Your Raven blocks are wonderful. If you have a quilt shop in your area they should be able to put you in touch with machine quilters. Happy Stitching.
Love all your quilts. Your circles on your raven blocks look great. They are a struggle for me. I’m working on the house block of the raven quilt and am worried about the boarders also. Thanks for all the eye candy Olivia.
I would say start with your local quilt shop. Mine does quilting and they may have some ideas.. Beautiful work by the way. Foundation paper piecing is actually fun and I have only done a little bit of paper piecing.
I have many Jan Patek kits even more patterns that I'd like to make. Have done several of her kits. Took a class from her many years ago. I think I also have the Red Wagon 12th Anniversary book, it looks familiar. I have a quilt ready to go to the long armer out of the Pam Buda fabric you showed. Enjoyed you video.
Your Raven quilt blocks are so beautiful! I have the book but I keep looking at the sharp tips on the beaks of the ravens and I put off starting it 😢. Your beaks are all perfect!
Great video, love all the quilting. I also am not good at and do not enjoy the free motion quilting process. By all means, send your Blackbird quilt to a long armer. They need work in order to stay in business, and it frees you up to do the parts you love.
Hi Olivia! Your Raven quilt is turning out beautifully! I’m pretty picky with my custom quilting projects. The previous quilter I used for custom had a few technical issues despite the fact that she and I jived on the artistic aspect…so I won’t suggest her. I do suggest checking out Hedgehog quilting in Fort Collins, Colorado. (She has both a website and IG.) I haven’t used her yet but plan to use her for my hand stitched hexie quilt. Her stitching looks beautiful… Thanks for the video! Lori
Bold Notion Quilting does custom quilting and she does beautiful work. You can search for longarm quilters in your area, but finding one that does custom is not as common.
I had exactly the same idea. Think both Olivia and Lori have long arms and, even if they don’t have time for customers, are probably connected enough with other long armers to provide guidance. Regardless of who does it, I think you want to start with basic outline stitching of your major shapes. Those raven blocks are gorgeous and, agreed, you don’t want to stitch over them indiscriminately. To save costs, maybe a long armer could do your outline stitching and then you could finish with detail stitching by hand. Either way, that quilt will be gorgeous and you will love it!😊
Carol, the Saltbox Stitcher does hand guided free motion quilting as a business, and Karen, the Recovering Monogamous Stitcher does beautiful work too, but I don't know if she has ever considered quilting for someone else. It wouldn't hurt to ask.
Ask a local guild and go on line and see who does custom longarming in your area. There are always some people and they show examples of their work on line. Especially see how they have worked with applique. Also there is a 3rd option ?!? Custom is expensive .There is a hybrid if the longarmer has a computer. They can computerize sections of it, like borders or some background and leave others blank for them to customize. Basically tell them your budget. EG I can pay $500 but that includes my batting. They know how long things take them. Then they can tell you how much they can customize. They do like to quilt over applique to secure it, if the quilt is going to be used as oppose to a wall hanging. They often use invisible thread. The other thing to have in mind is how densely you want it quilted. The less dense, the lower the cost. Tell them what images you want played up and what you want disappear. The more information you give them, the more the final product will have the look, feel and price you were hoping for. The people who get into trouble are those who say they have no opinion, or tell the quilter to do whatever. Then they find out, they did have opinions. Also know if you want to change thread colours or what single colour you want. Many people choose invisible thread especially if they do wool applique. Finally, this is a popular quilt. Look on Pinterest and see if you like how someone else quilted it. I even gave a quilter 3 examples of how I did NOT want something quilted on a popular quilt. She found that very helpful, because she said she would have used those examples. Because they can go on line and purchase some people's customized quilt job. I have only paid for 3 customized jobs and each one went really well. I gave a lot of guidance and had no deadline for when I wanted it. Try to deliver your quilt in person. Don't risk it in the mail. I have heard of too many heartbreaks for super special quilts. So that was a lot of free opinions :). Sorry but I recognized your angst. I power through with the domestic for most projects and save for years for a few customized. So I recognize the agonization.
May you live another 100 years with no distractions so you can make all these gorgeous quilts )))))

Thank you for sharing your beautiful quilting projects and stash. You are inspiring and enabling! ❤
Rounded edges are really easy if that was your worry. Easier than mitred corners:) love your quilty tube
Oh Olivia, your blocks are stunning ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Have your friend Olivia, from Pumpkin Hollow quilt your quilts.
