hype boy is from their first debut EP which is all 90s rnb based which is why its slower. ditto and omg is the mini ep that followed and it introduced a faster dancier sound that was a transition to their 3rd ep 'getup' which has their now trademark faster dancey sound (which i also much prefer by the way :P) its centred around the mainstream version of early 2000s 'uk garage' a sound that originated in clubs but was harder with mc's and rappers.. the mainstream version was made popular and charted high in pop charts by the likes of artful dodger, craig david, shanks and bigfoot, doolally and misteeq.. they kept the fast rythmn patterns of the snares and drums but replaced the hard raps with more melodical softer rnb vocals and it beacame very popular in the uk at the time... thats the style of newjeans now and i love it.. its not something ive ever heard of in kpop before and most non brits havent even heard the sound before :)

also 'zero' the remix featuring j.i.d i personally think is better... it gets a lot of hate because its a coke ad but i actually think the song is an absolute banger.... also 'gods' is very different to their normal stuff its not an official newjeans tune but is ABSOLUTELY AWESOME... if you can i would watch the live stage version of it 'gods worlds opening ceremony' its the one tune where the girls lose their trademark 'light airy' vocals and go a lot more fuller on in terms of their wider vocal range... its a great song
Tbh NewJeans is the only female group I've been stanning since their debut, every si gle o e of their songs are just so catchy and the choruses easily get stuck in your head qlso they have bangers after bangers and I have yet to find o e of their songs which I hate. My fav songs by them are Super Shy, ETA, OMG, HypeBoy and Ditto
honestly you guys should watch the actual mv's instead of the performance versions... you are missing sooo much... hype boy i know is confusing but you can pick any of the 4 versions.. they are all the same they just centre around a different story for each member (haerin and danis is shared)... But i will say this if you like the performance versions thats fine but there are 4 videos that you must watch the official mvs for as they are crazy good drama mv's and probably something that i think will blow your minds... these are; Ditto side a ditto side b omg official mv (those three need to be done in that order and you have to watch both sides of ditto otherwise you will only get half the story.) cool with you side a cool with you side b (another 2 parter that must be watched.. both in that order) eta (a lot is going on this video.. more than you even realise at the ending)
