  • Catch up with Amina and Lucas as we Journey Beyond Travel to one of our favorite spice shops - Centre Herboristerie Omar right in the old Medina of Tangier.
At Omar’s spice shop, we discover the various spices and herbs that go into Morocco’s unique spice mix: Ras Al Hanout.
“Ras Al Hanout” literally translates as “head of the shop.” It’s considered the “master spice blend” and is prized by chefs around the world, both at home and abroad.
In Moroccan cuisine, we often use this spice blend to season meats, poultry, fish, and vegetables.
A couple of the most common dishes include the savory-sweet lamb with prune tagine and an everyday bowl of lentils, a staple of just about every Moroccan household!

What are the species or names of the herbs or spice used? Like the nutmeg that’s found just in the Middle East, or the Saharan nutmeg, or the cactus flowers? I’d like to know, please provide a list of the herbs or spices???
