  • A simple way to sear Tri-Tip in a cast iron.
    The tri-tip was smoked on the Trager first and then seared in the cast iron.

    I’m with ya on the method . I usually do Santa Maria style. It’s so delicious medium rare why not cast iron and baste

    Wait.. so you cooked this on the stove here, ..
    But first you cooked this tri-tip out in backyard and pull it off at 180° ??

      This was just seared inside on cast iron. We smoked it at 180 degrees first outside.

      Cook in a grill,smoker or oven on low heat and Pull it off at 125 for medium rare. 135 for medium. Let it rest for 10 minutes. Then sear on cast iron for 1-2 minute on highest heat per side just to get a good crust while basting with butter. Serve.

      ​@Jeremyho439 "I didn't know avocado and beef can mix" it's not avocado, it's avocado oil... With your logic, do you eat beef with olive?
      And on top of that...never had beef tacos with guacamole or avocado salsa?
