There is definitely a driver issue or something in this video, I recently upgraded from a 2060 to a 1080 and my average frames are definintley higher and my 1% lows are way higher.
Dude your utterly in correct the RTX 2060 is pointless to purchase especially if Ray tracing is enables kiss those comparable framerates gone. RTX is only valid going for the 4000 series and up

I upgraded to a 2060 from a 970 back in 2020 right before 3000 series released and prices went up. The 2060 treated me well for two years at 1080p and the price to performance was great at the time. I recently upgraded to a used 3080 because it was $550. I ended up giving my 2060 to my cousin who wanted to build his first pc. He plays roblox and valorant and the 2060 is more than enough for his uses
Both similar price used, both similar TDP, I think for a 1080p gamer the RTX is better but for higher resolutions I'd go with the GTX for the extra 2gb Vram. Personally I saved some money and went for the GTX 1070 but I'll go to the RTX 3060 when the price is right. I don't think either of these cards represent the best value for money on the used market at the moment, I want 12gb of Vram if I'm spending £200.

I'm just rendering a video now with an overclocked i5 4670k vs stock i7 4770K in an Optiplex playing War Thunder at 4K while recording in 4K. If I come across a 1080 for that price I'll get one, they are always at least £200 here. A fast Haswell i7 or better shouldn't bottleneck it, much at least.

I have a Zotac Black gaming 2060 and even after I undervolted it, it hovers around 73°c under load, high 70's and stock voltage it hovers around 80°c. I have 4 Intake fans (two front and two upper case) and 1 exhaust fan on the rear, 3x Noctua and 2 Corsair that came with the case.
Why, just why were you testing Fortnite in DX11 without the new Lumen and Nanite features. Use DX12 and Lumen/Nanite enabled next time to see how the 1080 compares to the 2060 with the next gen featureset that will be used in many upcoming UE5 next gen titles.
I'm trying to give the best comparison by using the same settings on both GPU's, but I think you're right. When a new GPU comes out, I should use the best settings that the GPU can use. Thanks for the tip, in future video's, I will try to use these settings.
Is 4060 the same performance as 3080? LOL I reckon nvidia made a mistake with the 2060 being at the same level as 1080. Not the mention DLSS feature being exclusive to cards after the 10 series, it made the old cards obsolete fast.
the 20 series is more future proof due to longer driver support and newer technologies. it also got DX12.2. all 2XXX cards (except 3050/2060) are a better option than the 1080.
learn to read before you argue. i literally said "except for 2060". no one is seeking out either of these cards because the 3060 is better in every regard and costs the same.

@@TheLapari the 2060 is more future proof in terms of support and technology, but it's hard to recommend due to the 6GB VRAM. for 1080p the 2060 is still doing fine in most titles, but due to how slow it is (just like the 1080) you won't play on maxed settings in those more demanding games that would push the 6GB anyway.

So Radeon is not on the table for you? A RX 6650 XT is a good value card from them or a RX 6700 non XT.

I used an open air bench. In between the games, it had time to cool down. That's why it is not that hot.
