    Another win: Shere-khan was the only tiger animated using cells at that time, except of course for tigger. Shere-kahn was a lot of work to replicate though, because of his stripe pattern. It was really hard for the animators to draw him on-model, but they were able to pull it off! Definitely a win.

    Funfact - "The Jungle Book" is actually the highest grossing movie ever here in Germany. They took the German dub really seriously and I'd actually go so far to say that this is one of the rare occasions the German dub is far above the english original. They put a lot of effort in it.

    • @chinococoa6743

      Wow. Germany just can't get enough bare necessities.

    • @CartoonKarma
      @CartoonKarma 8 лет назад +21

      When you say highest grossing, is that adjusted for inflation or not? I'll assume you mean adjusted for inflation. It should also be remembered the film had four German re-releases across the decades alongside it's original release to add to that figure.
      Regardless, I could actually believe that. Fun fact: famed Disney animator Andreas Deja grew up in Germany, and this was the film that really sparked his interest in Disney Animation. He went on to be the supervising animator on Gaston, Jafar, Scar, Adult Hercules and Lilo, to cite his most acclaimed files. Not to say he was the only animator on those characters, of course. Just the lead one. But yeah, that's why I could believe Jungle Book being a hit in Germany, to spark an animation interest in someone who would go on to become a well-deserved animation celebrity. Well, as far as animators can be celebrities, anyway.

    Fearlessness is not courage. Courage is not the absence of fear; it is the presence of fear, yet the will to go on. Fearlessness speaks to either ignorance of danger or just a lack of concern for one's own well-being.

    • @osemudiame123
      @osemudiame123 8 лет назад +5

      not always True. sometimes fearlessness is due to experience and gaining information. and in these cases fearlessness is courage. like a skydiver no longer being sceared because they've jumped a thousand times. or a feral child not being sceared of wild animals because he grew up with fucking wolves. you know shit like that.

    • @101jir
      @101jir 8 лет назад +3

      osemudiame123 Well, to be fair fearlessness masks courage. That doesn't mean that a person might not be courageous and (partially) fearless, but being fearless makes it harder to discern. Though in the case of the skydiver, that's not courage: just rational fearlessness.
      Courage is like bullrushing a mugger that wasn't even targeting you, simply because it is right. Courage might also be like witnessing at a trial despite death threats. It might be a POW that refuses to reveal information despite enduring (or fearing they might endure) torture.
      Skydiving does not require courage, since what you are doing is morally neutral. Courage is doing the right thing despite the fear of harm.

    I have another win for this film; the animation. I mean, the art style is that scratchy Disney style some people dislike, but the actual animation is very interesting. In many films that have a mostly animal cast, they tend to either put completely human movements on the animals (Robin Hood) or completely animal movements on them (101 Dalmations). This film finds itself right in the middle in terms of that. It has some amazingly creative motions for the animals, making them seem like the actual animal anatomy could pull off the motions and dances. Pretty neat, I think!

    I truly think that scene where Baloo learns Shere Khan is coming for Mowgli is the best scene in the film. It’s so great to see even the most fun and lovable character in the film grow deadly serious as he finally realizes that he cannot protect the kid he loves. Baloo being willing to let Mowgli go because of this realization is the moment Baloo proves that he actually can be a parent to Mowgli - by letting him go.
    It’s just a real, legit moment for Disney. And helps build up Shere Khan even more because he still hasn’t been seen yet. But if Baloo of all people is afraid of him, just how bad is he? Baloo’s desperate cry for Mowgli after he runs away is heart wrenching and the way it leads right into Khan’s introduction is actually pretty horrific.
    Also nice that Khan actually had no idea that Mowgli was in the jungle until he overheard Bagheera. You create your own demon as Tony Stark said. Although Bagheera was right that Khan would’ve found out about him eventually, how terrifying is it that Bagheera himself is the one who let Khan know?

    I agree with this and the honest trailers simultaneously lol.
    What I enjoyed most, though, was watching the movie, watching jungle cubs, then watching the movie again. Really helps you appreciate how inseparable children can grow up to lead any kinda life. All the characters maintain the same standard personality, just adult versions of them amd it explains how they all seem to know each other. Kaa isn't struggling with hypnosis anymore (but is still a loser), Louie has made his dream of being king as real as he can, timid hathi is in the army and Shere Khan is the one who let his lingering bad (albeit dilusionaly honorable) traits take over. Wow! But Bagghera and baloo effortlessly renewing the brotherly bond of the tv show was great to see. I'd recommend the jungle cubs, lots of Easter eggs. Theres even a made for tv film where the characters of this film reminisce about those times told through flashbacks/episodes.

    If they ever make a sequel to the Jungle Book (live action) I wouldn't complain if they did the ending where Mowgli gets lured in by the girl as a flash back to the reason why he leaves, and when he returns to the jungle, hes conflicted on whether or not to stay. A new family and girl? Or singing bear dad and wolf family? I think it'd work perfectly. He's a growing boy, and is going to make dumb decision.
    And I liked the ending of the animated version of the Jungle Book because it sets up a problem in the next movie, and I think the flashback would work better.

    Aww I was hoping you'd make a comment about Louis Prima doing the voice of King Louie, I really enjoy his music and never realized it was him til more recently I was listening to one of his songs and was like "....wait....OH!"
    Also you should do Robin Hood, I love that movie but the pacing is so weird. Wonder if Disney will attempt a live action version of that X3

      Shere Khan couldn't reach Baloo while they were running around in circles so he decided to wrap Baloo around that tree. Once he did that, Baloo's ass was toast!

      @@rossogilvie3338 That's a really appropriate fate for Baloo after exposing his big butt during the whole mvie. I mean look at that wiggle at 1:23 and that's his first scene!

    I loved cinema sins before but I love this version more. Especially when you do good movies because I love to actually agree with the video I'm watching. 😀 The only problem I see are that in some videos you say things that don't sound like wins but are counted as one.

    • @alexandraburton232
      @alexandraburton232 8 лет назад +5

      Cinema Sins does that too. Sometimes I see him sin something that doesn't sound like a sin to me, such as "Scene doesn't contain a lap dance." It's all in the perspective of the RUclipsr.

      @core943 8 лет назад +3

      The more random sins/wins are there as jokes to keep the video entertaining. Also they keep the videos from being to official if that makes sense.

    One more win for when Baloo tickles King Louie! No make that two for Br'er Rabbit laughter from Louie.
    Also another win for recycled animation from Wind in the Willows! Plus another for Baloo and Louie dancing recycled in Robin Hood for Little John and Lady Cluck!
    Another win for recycling Bambi's mother when Shere Khan tries to sneak on her.
