Laleler dance / Lalələr rəqsi

This dance is a captivating tribute to a famous Azerbaijani song "Lalələr" (Poppy Flowers), an esteemed part of Azerbaijan's Golden Song Heritage from the 1970s. It exalts the radiant red poppy flowers that blossom at the onset of spring in the countryside of Gandja, Azerbaijan.
This is a particularly lovely interpretation of this song by the legendary Rashid Behbudov (Rəşid Behbudov).
It was a pleasure to perform it for the first time with my little IRS group at Automnales Festival 2023 in Geneva, Switzerland.
