As for the synth chords, here's my non-synth formula. Chorus (more of the tri stereo type, i.e. no 'wobble') flange with the delay set almost to the chorus range, pitch transposer set to fourths or fifths, delay and optionally, phaser set *very* slow. Play around with all the relative levels. Try it, you'll like it.
