- In this video, I do my best to remove the blockage from my Citroen C5 X7 Tourer's front screenwash system using guitar strings, blowing water through tubes with my mouth and some light swearing.
Even though this video is for a particular model of Citroen, it may be applicable to other vehicles.
I assumed my blockage was in the common tube but you showed me it is still plausible both nozzles can be blocked. Much easier, so i'll try that 1st. Thanks.
Thanks mate. Very useful.
Run them under hot water to soften the tube, it makes it easier to take apart.
The models with headlight washers take nearly 5 litres from the low level light coming on to fill it!
😳
My jets are working fine.
There's a crack in the piping near where the pipe bends through the bonnet-hinge-bracket!
Have you ever removed the bonnet from your C5?
Am thinking that I might just make a completely new run of pipes instead of undoing bolts and removing the bonnet.
Thanks for your Citroen tips. They are always helpful. J from Aus.
No, I've never had to remove the bonnet. I find the piping to be accessible enough, at least for my needs!
these nozzles are 6 euro each...
Do you actually need the valves?
Or is it overengineered?
Good question. I think it's to keep washer fluid in the tubes. Without the valves, the water would drain back into the reservoir, which means you'd have to wait for the water to be pumped all the way back to the nozzle again every time you wanted to wash your windscreen
You don't have a spread pattern because you broke sprinkler inside of the jet with guitar spring.
Whoops. Thanks for the tip!
I cleaned mine out with a needle and broke mine too.... It's ok, I broke it some more so it would aim at the windscreen again haha
Same as peugeot 407 only buy genuine jets spray paten not good on after market jets its all ways the none return valve there is three one on each jet pipe but one it looks like a two way spliter before
