  • The heritage railway from Sørumsand to Fossum in Norway is a part of the original line, Urskogbanen. This was 57 kilometres long. The line was built in the less expensive way as a so-called tertiary railway with a 750 mm gauge track. The basis for the railway lay mostly in forest and agriculture products. The first run as a heritage railway was undertaken in 1966.
This film was taken in the summer of 2014 by Hans Peters ©. It was one of the few days in that summer in Norway with clouds in the sky and even some rain at noon.

Fantastic, will the railway be extended?

Probably not. They would have to rebuild the bridge that crosses the road at Fossum station and because of laws they would have to either raise the track or lower the road so trucks can pass and much of the old trackbed is now roads. It would cost millions to just lay a couple of kilometers. Here is a link, but its in norwegian. www.u-hb.no/documents/forvaltningsplaner.php
