I used to be bus group tour guide back in 90s 1 day trip from Oahu to Hilo daily on the plane in and out...brings me back lots of memories from volcanic national park...Mahalo for the Video👍🤙👊🌋🏝
I did the day trip from Kona and spent more time at the south point. It was so peaceful seeing all those fisherman. My volcano time was shorter, but I had a NP pass. I just saw the lava from the setup at the time from the Devastation trail and walked the car path to the volcano site just to see Hilo. Long day but fun.

Love the video and all the information! Had a question for you, if you were going to be on the big island for 10 days would you split your hotel stay between Kona and Hilo or just stay in Kona the entire time. Thanks in advance keep up the great content!
Great question, we just filmed a video on that. Perhaps Hilo for a day or two. A lot to do over there but not a lot of places to stay and weather is rainy.

Hi, I'm planning on going at the end of March 2023 and we plan to visit Aulani Disney Resort, but would like to know what outside family activities we can do such as hiking, sight seeing, water falls? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Love your videos, as always. You guys are absolutely right: do not miss Volcanoes National Park when you visit the big island. Here's some lava footage we got back in February by showing up _very_ early in the morning (one of the good things about still being on Chicago time when we got there.) It was dark enough that the entire sky was a faint pinkish red long before we even got to the observation station: ruclips.net/video/jFrxTOruylY/видео.html

Was there in August and did the hike across from the visitor center at night. We got a great view of the lava lake- amazing!

We did that in the video. In it is a 12 hour day but you can also spend less time at the park.
