    "We don't bend!". Love it. Thank you for clarifying that.
    We're always prepared. We went all over Europe and then Puerto Vallarta, Mex last year. We freeze sliced cheese, cream cheese, Myoko's Cashew Butter, Trader Joe's Banana Bread, Unreal individually wrapped candies. We always stay in an Airbnb and take cooking ingredients tofurky sausages, cold cuts and anything else we need that cannot be commonly found in a grocery store. We live in Los Angeles and we stay on the Las Vegas strip. Lots of vegan options there and we know where they are.
    Otherwise, at home, we're pretty much whole foods plant based. As long as we have G-BOMBS: Greens, Beans, Onions, Mushrooms, Berries and Seeds.

      Nice! You seem to have traveling as vegans down to a science. LA and Las Vegas are like the mecca for vegan food. We definitely need to visit there. Thanks for watching!

      Thanks, I visited Vegas in Dec and missed the main vegan restaurant but found good eats nonetheless. Care to share your spots. I can’t wait to go back.

      @tiffanyedwards5674 Here are a few tried and true places in Vegas:
      Slice of Vegas at Shoppes at Madalay. Full vegan menu including pizza, cashew cream sauce, mozz, parm, sausage, and pepperoni. Buffalo cauliflower or Chik'n. Even desserts.
      Just a few steps away is Hussong's Cantina. They are sister companies. Also plenty of options including house made vegan carne asada.
      Nacho Daddy. Giant nachos, burritos, and more. Best vegan chocolate cake!
      There are 2 locations. 1. Across the street from Cosmo on Harmon. Technically part of the Miracle Mile shops, but not inside. Outside on the corner facing Harmon, not LV Blvd.
      2. Downtown Vegas, next door to White Castle Burgers (who also have a Vegan patty).
      CATCH. Technically a seafood restaurant, it has plenty of vegan options. Also, the best pistachio cheesecake with black cherry sauce and coconut sorbet. A favorite among non vegans too. $$$
      Wynn. Every restaurant at Wynn has vegan options. From the finest buffet to poolside cafe with Just Egg omelets and delicious French toast, to fine dining at Sinatra's
      Off strip: Tacotarian in Henderson. There's a plant based culinary academy, Modern Vegan (HUGE portions, enough to share)
      There's just a few. Most places have an option or two. Or, at least they can leave the cheese off spaghetti in a pinch.

    YES. So many places use chicken stock in their soup (yes tomato or vegetable soup) and their rice and/or beans.

    I went on carnival 8 years ago as a vegan and staff were so kind but food was definitely lack lustre back then I think thanks to this video I may give them a second chance since I am a vegan of 10 years I have definitely grown more comfortable at kindly making requests and explaining my needs.

      Hey, thanks for watching 👋🏾 the more you go, the more you get comfortable with the process. The food varies on the chefs onboard. We've had great experiences as well as OK experiences but we never starved 😁

    Recently went on an MSC cruise and the vegan options were limited but I got creative. I find simplicity is best. Was not hungry at all. The staff was accommodating which was great. Even got a vegan burger and pizza marinara!!!

      That's wonderful! our kids pushed for us to film as well..Hence why we started filming on our Disney Dream cruise 🤣 Don't know if you got to see that video on our channel yet. It's awesome to speak with other Vegan families. We'll be boarding Royal Caribbean in April for the first time..Looking forward to see how that goes as I know Royal has implemented a lot of (negative) changes in regards to dining options. We'll see! Happy cruising. Looking forward to hearing about you making your first RUclips channel. Keep us posted!

    Omg I wish I came across you before my cruise on Celebration two weeks ago. I was hungry, annoyed and tired of potatoes. Tried to get the veggies from the omelette station and they act like my request was weird and gave me a tiny bit. My food was nothing like this and the experience made me not want to sail again, but thanks to you I’ll be ready next year 😂

    • @dfamilyescapes8746
      @dfamilyescapes8746  Год назад

      so sorry to hear about your negative experience. Yes, it definitely takes planning and communication. And it gets easier each time you sail. Oh yes I usually ask for a double portion of the veggies at the omelet station since we nix the eggs lol if you haven't already, join the FB group.

    Great pointers! Especially not folding when things get tough. It just causes so much confusion.
    Bringing your own condiments and sweets. Also about double checking the ingredients

      Lol so many newbies fold at the dessert buffet. Dont make eye contact with the cakes 🙈I promise just walk past it...you'll be fine 🤣 and yes, always ask about hidden ingredients

    Menu Mate experience here! In April there was a menu mate on the Elation. This is a podium in the buffet (Lido) and a crew member was at the podium to take down allergies & food restrictions. She showed me the menu to pick my dinner for that night and she grabbed a chef who could show me what items on the buffet were vegan. I don’t think all ships have this because the cruise I took in February didn’t have this podium and it was extremely hard to figure out what I was supposed to do and very frustrating to eat the first couple of days.

      @dfamilyescapes8746  Год назад

      Thanks for sharing your menu mate experience. We have been in several cruise where we saw the menu mate podium, but there is NO crew there to assist. However, with Carnival now rolling out the vegan menu, Cruising Carnival should be much easier!

      You're most welcome. Great question. We travel all the time with our young ones. As of October 2022 Carnival has slowly started to stock dairy free cheese onboard you can go to Pizza Pirate and ask if they have vegan cheese available to make a pizza. prior to having vegan cheese I would pre-order cheeseless veggie pizza or just request pizza without cheese only sauce and top it with garlic and Italian seasoning and crush red peppers if you like a Lil spice. You can request a veggie sandwich at the deli. A bean burrito at Blue Iguanas (don't add rice unless you ask for them to prepare rice without butter) when they made the rice without butter for us my kids enjoyed rice bowls and for dinner I usually pre-order them Pizza, stir fry, fried rice, spring rolls, fajitas, pasta, just simple things. If I saw a soup that they may like I would request that vegan. They love the tomatoe soup and pumpkin soup. Oh and if they like smoothies order the strawberry bisque vegan it takes like a smoothie in a bowl. Delish. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching

    I totally disagree with you and the statements the vegans don’t or shouldn’t bend. That thought process would scare a lot of people away from this type of eating lifestyle. The very fact that we are in control of our diet and can choose to eat healthier is attractive but making ppl feel as though they have to go all in is not. We have choices, don’t take away people’s free choice and make them feel like they have to show others that they totally vegan. I say I’m vegan ish. I choose what I’m willing to bend on and put into my body…if that cookie has a little egg and milk in it, I might decide I want to treat myself and eat that cookie.

    • @dfamilyescapes8746
      @dfamilyescapes8746  Год назад +3

      Hey! I noticed you mentioned being vegan-ISH, which is cool-everyone has their own journey. Just a friendly thought: when we claim vegan but choose non-vegan foods, it can be confusing and impact the collective effort for those who strictly stick to their dietary choices. Let's keep the conversation open and supportive for everyone on their unique paths! 🌱 Thankfully, since doing this video, Carnival has now implemented a vegan menu that makes cruising as a vegan a bit easier. If you have not please check out our video: Exploring Carnival Cruise Lines New Vegan Menu.

    Yes, going on a cruise is very good for the enviourment, i think that every vegan should do that to reduce carbon emisions. (Sarcasm)
