Bangkok is somewhere we really want to visit - well Thailand in general! It looks so colourful and vibrant. The gold and the flowers are so beautiful. All of the temples are amazing, but wow it's busy. We've done two Ella excursions and found both didn't give enough time - even though there was time in the day to do so. Love a windy day at sea! We really must try Discovery 2 (maybe give the glass house deserts a miss!!!). Cheers 🍻
Yeah, Bangkok did look amazing. We just felt we saw a lot from the inside of a coach and really wanted to have a proper mooch about. The excursion was fine, but it didn't really offer the experience we were after. When we go back, it won't be on a cruise.
Would you recommend taking a grab taxi there and back and find your own way round. It looks as tough everything is around the river which looks easy to hop on and off. We are going in November and dont know what do do after watching you moaning 😂. Mind its the only time I've seen you moan. We've enjoyed watching your travels 😊@andyandkirstie

Too many temples for me and i totally agree, i would be expecting the Thai cuisine to be better than that. We did a private tour to an elephant rescue sanctuary, it was fantastic, we got to meet the elephants, fed them, then took them to the lakes to be washed, walking by their sides all the way. You could get into the water with them too. Later we made paper from elephant poo lol. We received 2 home made Thai meals with authentic coconut drinks. These trips are well worth the money and no silly crowds about, the elephants like peace n quite. Try it next time Andy n Kirsty. Love your videos, we cruise in 2 weeks for a repo cruise from Tenerife to Corfu with Marella.

We were a bit late watching your video this week but it gave us a smile when we needed it. Lol, there's nothing like watching someone else moan, especially when they be timing it 😂. Bangkok is a really interesting city but a rushed cruise excursion with lots of crowds doesn't do it justice. I'm sure that in the next video you'll be back to "that's lovely that is", lol. Hi we were in Bangkok for 2 days on marella in 2019. Did Bangkok at night excursion. Unfortunately we were taken to a rundown restaurant where we say on the pavement for pad Thai which was basically egg, noodles and carrot. So many complaints we received 50 per cent refund. Also some drunk idiots on coach who were only interested in the booze. Bit daft when they could have got it for free on the ship. Would love to go back and see more however. Enjoying your videos and it hasn't put us off marella.
That doesn't sound great. Our trip was OK, not anything like yours sounds. Just felt like it was maybe not the best option that day. We've been on some fantastic Marella excursions.
Another very interesting video. It looks like you saw some stunning sights again. I would find all of the travelling and crowds a little off putting but it looks worth it. Love your honest accounts. Was it blowy on your sea day because you never mentioned it !! 😂
We had a good day, but yes, it was very busy and a long drive there and back, which took some of the fun out of it a little. The rushed hotel buffet was the final straw 😂
Much prefer when ship docks close to sights and interesting places so you can make your own way round, some of those excursions can be a nightmare with all that queuing and rushing around and they are not cheap, unusual for a smallish ship to have so much queuing for every where, i find it happens more on very large ships, prefer mid size about 1800 guest, hope you have a good one tomorrow.

I loved the moaning. With my husband it’s what I’m used to. In fact yours was very restrained comparatively. Such a shame you didn’t really enjoy Bangkok. It’s my favourite city in the world. Hopefully you can visit again one day, and experience some sites that aren’t temples and real Thai cuisine.

Great video! We did The Best of Bangkok which was excellent. We saw so much. I thought the Marella production shows were some of the best we'd seen.

We wanted to see a bit of Bankok as we have never been there before. We definitely want to go back, but would probably tour independently.

Yes, we had a few long coach journeys on this cruise. The ship seemed very full. Wasn't a problem most of the time, but it was noticeable on occasion.
