that's the name of the game right now. Most startups aim for higher paying clients that will offer big contracts. I also would not be surprised if she has plenty of wedding contracts, fully exploits holiday sales. But the difference between her and other florists is that she is a business minded first. She seems to know how to move up $ wise and keep with the times. She walked into a niche by using mainly domestic sourced flowers-Dhalia, roses, eucalyptus, protea. She obviously has excellent marketing skills. Also in reality, she seems to have already had major connects from her job at stanford. Lastly she is in the right location at the right time (SF, tech boom, plenty of large companies with excess money). You could make millions from just selling shoelaces if you had the right marketing skills and knew the right people and the right clients.... Anyhoo, I remember going to sf flower mart when she first moved in. I was with another florist and she was shit talking farmgirlflowers. She couldnt believe someone actually had a florist operation at the flower mart. Well. Haters will hate.
Wow....people in the comments section are really cruel. I don't understand this at all. If you knew Christy or heard her talk in depth about her business practices and how much she cares about her employees and customers you'd understand that this is actually wonderful company.
I love this idea . So happy to hear that people still care about the mother nature . I hope you also compost all the floral waste but I'm sure you do Farm girl has it going on . Much Love !
One does not always have to smile.. but if all of them are not smiling for the most part, and generally don't look happy, and the video is about the company, its people, and owner, well then something would seem odd in that case.
Your comment is so childish. doing what you like is not always fun, you don't have to be always smiling to feel happy. In fact happiness doesn't even involve being contempt all the time. happy involves a range of emotions inside. Frustration, anger sadness and they all go back to stability. For example, some people are happy fighting, crying and having a dramatic life. You can learn more happiness in psychology, because inspirational shit doesn't work in real life.
What a beautiful story.
