had the backpack for 2 years. Use it for school. Can be used for vacation trips, and carry-on. Great for carrying 17" laptop and stuff for hackathons (2 laptops, keyboard, full-size mouse, Nintendo switch, air pad, throw, fleece jacket, water bottle). Also can be used as a pillow or something to rest on as you wait. Lots of pockets to organized including a hidden top pocket for sunglasses or quick access. Two side pockets one covered with soft material for things you don't want to scratch. Good size bottle carriers. A waist strap that is removable. A chest strap with a whistle. The zipper doing all the way down was supposedly so you can go thru airport TSA so that you don't have to remove the laptop. The laptop holder is suspended in the middle backpack so you don't have to worry about putting down your bag and banging the laptop. It still looks brand new even after two years of rough treatment. The shoulder and back don't get sweaty on summer days due to generous padding and design. A couple of negatives include that it's slightly heavier and may be overkill if you're just carrying an iPad to school but it is a great all-in-one bag. Another negative about the previous model not sure about this year's model is that the darn thing doesn't sit up on its own so it keeps falling over unless it is full. As mention in the video, the waist strap isn't beefy at all. Compared to Osprey this bag looks nicer with great organizer compartments(so much so I forget where I put some things like a small pocketknife;-( ) I mostly use it for school which with the compression straps make it slim. days when I know I am going to be on campus the entire day, I can easily carry my binders, iPad, mouse, over-the-ear headphones, sweater/jacket, snacks, water bottle, etc. All of this without having to move stuff from one bag to another bag.
The main compartment zips open all the way down (like a clamshell) to allow access to the bottom of the bag without having to take the contents on top of the bag out. If the zips didn't go down, to get to the items located at the bottom of the bag, you would have to remove all items located above it. This bag is great for one bag travel, though the hip belt isn't the best compared to other brands like the Osprey Farpoint 40, Tortunga etc etc.
@@jackalproductions2352 you can put the buckles on the side to compress it, it also acts as a block to keep the zipper only halfway, so you can use it for school and small items too, it’s like a convertible which makes it perfect
Been using mine as an everyday gig bag and wanted something for cross country motorcycle camping trips. Have had it several years now. This review was pretty much spot on. Yeah, something about those zippers on the main compartment....ugh, feels like I'm changing a diaper or something, having to lay the bag on its back and zip all the way around to get stuff out. I guess it makes sense in some cases but for everyday use became cumbersome. Yes, this bag WILL NOT stand up. Perhaps with a laptop it might. Very rugged bag. Nothing is broken on my Router after must be 4-5 years of every day use. Definitely got my money's worth on this purchase
I don't see the clamshell design as a problem. Most zippered hiking / travel bags have that feature now anyway to get quick access to clothes ect. A bag designed more for school only zips down halfway ( like the Fjallraven ). I'm interested to find out more about that shoulder strap fault though. What exactly was going on there ?.. you're the first I heard mentioning that in a review.

I get the idea, its just kinda annoying if you're trying to use it for school.

Pretty sure those reflective straps hold tubing to enable the use of a water bladder - if I'm not mistaken👍
that would make sense!
Nice solid review, thanks
idk if this is weird but are you at the air force academy or were u when you were filming it?
uhhh why do you think that
