I'm a confirmed Jem-a-holic and even though I own a number of Japanese Jems, my Indonesian Jem70V is my absolute favourite. In general terms though, the Jem really is the "Swiss Army Knife of Guitars". It can pretty much do it all and do it all very well

    Perfect Video
Got one of these around 2009 when they were first released. Possibly my favorite guitar also.
I eventually got all 4 Indonesian JEM guitars.
I think I have around 35 Ibanez guitars, 2 of them are PIA3761 and they are perfect.
When Ibanez stopped making this JEM70VSFG I got nervous and when the outer guitarist in our band found a brand new one on the internet I bought it.
Everything you're saying in this video is true.
I will say that of the 4 Indonesian JEM guitars the Ibanez JEM77WDP "Woody" is my second favorite.
The Ibanez JEM77PBFP "Blue Floral" and the Ibanez JEM7VP are great too.
The Ibanez JEM70VSFG in this video is an incredible guitar, why they stopped making it I'll never understand.
Of the 4 Indonesian JEM guitars JEM77PBFP is the only one still on their website.

I bought one of the original Jem 777's in desert yellow back in the late 80's. Fantastic guitar in every way. I sold it and have regretted that all my life!

@@sourayanbiswas4591 Well the first run back in '88 when I bought mine would have come with Bridge pickup: DiMarzio PAF Pro (H), Middle pickup: DiMarzio JEM Single (S), Neck pickup: DiMarzio PAF Pro (H).

I know you have nice and effective equipment and nice guitars but I admire the fact that you ALWAYS have great tone.
Not everyone is good at taking advantage of having the right tools (guitars/amp/effects/ect) and using them to create a high-quality sound.

The main thin I would change is the 24 fret neck. I think the 22/21 fret strats have the neck pickup in a much sweeter spot.

Nice Axe. I have an old 1980 Ibanez Custom Blazer with brass tremolo bridge block, brass saddles, alder body, maple neck. I added a Duncan Performer (made in Japan) humbucking bridge pick up to it & it sounds amazing, I just cant get used to the neck (it feels like a vintage fender 7.5" radius neck) so I can't play it as fast as I would like, and the guitar weighs about 8.5 Lbs.

Thanks for opening my eyes to a guitar I’ve always assigned to the shredder ghetto and tended to overlook. Would like to pick one up and take it for a spin. Bet it would sound killer in a blues tune.

The humbucker is split in 2 and 4, so it’s really two single coils in parallel, not a humbucker wired in series.

I did a test with my -97 JEM fp. I wanted to know if I really need to buy a strat with all that comes with it.
Tremolo not staying in tune etc. In my case someone has installed a pull split for the bridge pickup so I can get
a really stringy sound with some distortion. The 2nd switch position really sound good, not exact strat of course, but a very good version of it.
A little fatter. The neck pickup is all I need for some jazzy tone. The strat neck pickup with the twang is hard to get, but I will survive.
The sound is excellent otherwise for my needs. It's DImarzio PAF Pro on this.

    HI
    great video and great guitar
I ask you, do you think it's a versatile guitar with which to play multiple styles (rock, pop, blues..) or is it made just for Steve's world?
Can it finally replace Strato and Les Paul or not?
    Thanks and congratulations again!!!

    • @ClintCurtis
      @ClintCurtis  Год назад

It can do everything, it's remarkably versatile, so you can, but for me I still want a strat to be a strat, and a Les Paul as well.

This is an Indonesian made, Ibanez Premium model. The Japanese made ones are more expensive I believe. This is an incredible guitar, one of my best, and I have 25. They sell for about 2K (CDN) on Reverb

The Jem70V-SFG was the first Premium Jem and benefits from having pretty much the same spec as the Japanese models (electronics and hardware). No longer in production and prices have shot up over the last two years.
The equivalent production model today is the White Premium Jem7VP (again Indonesian). Even closer specs to the Japanese model and with the Ebony fretboard. If you must buy a new Jem, these are the best available at present and cost around £1500
