i wrote a suicide note in grade 5, and some birdy told the teacher about it, and she caught me at the school gate and went "hey, are you okay?" that teacher saved my life, impacted my life. i wouldnt be here today without her. her name is mrs lange, and she is the single greatest teacher i have ever had. she showed enthusiasm every single day, and most importantly saved my life. you too can save lives. you too can be a mrs lange.
I'm crying listening to this because i just recently failed my physics exam .it's hurting so bad as i want to pursue my career in the field of astronomy and I've also disappointed those who trust me ..this made me self doubt my whole choices.. but my heart doesn't want to give up i can't . I’ve been going for 2 years feeling this way, the only thing that’s keeping me from hating myself is knowing that I’ll become something and it’d be a waste to throw it away, cause I’m awesome! The longer you tell yourself your cool, the cooler you’ll become. Plus your cool either way. Because you are who you are. Accept it and life and self worth will get better and stronger. Same the doctors themselves told my mom to abort me but my mom said "no I don't care how she comes out bad, with a syndrome, or not, I want her" I'm really happy my mom is my mom and I'm here fine and with nothing wrong with me and yeah (they thought something was wrong with me and that I had a syndrome) but when I came out if that womb I came out fine and I made those doctors pretty much look like fools
My teacher came to school one day even though her daughter had just died😭. We all ended up hugging her and she said we were like her 2nd children. We decided to make a huge card for her and she cried and we all ended up crying.😢 That was one of the most memorable days of my life. Teachers are truly amazing and it’s impossible to express that enough. 💕

I used to be bullied in middle school a bunch of jerks made fun of me and my friend. Until one day I became the bully and started bullying a kid who was def and in that moment, I knew I was hanging out with the wrong kids. But I was so angry at them and how they made me suffer and letting my anger out on other kids made me feel really stupid until I realized I needed knew friends. And to this day I'm no longer a bully I hang out with christian guys who go to church and so do I it really changed my life.
This is exactly the way I feel dawg life's hard man just live through it homie even if your lonely.

I love that my college professor added this video as extra credit. 2 days ago I turned 37. 15 years ago I was homeless on the streets, addicted to the needle. I lost my sister, my father, and my best friend in short succession. I didn't struggle with grades, I struggled with understanding my life has value and worth from a very young age. I dropped out of highschool with a 4.2 GPA. I didn't have the guidance and encouragement I needed as a teen. I had back surgery at 24 that led to a 200lb weight gain. I could only see myself as an obese drug addict with failed potential. Then I decided to get clean and I wasn't going to use no matter what happen. I got clean, I met an amazing man, got married, gave birth to 4 girls in 2 years. I now had others looking at me to be their role model. I lost 145lbs the old school way (nutrition and gym). I finished the 2 classes I needed for my high school diploma at 35 years old. I have 4 weeks of my freshman year left, and although I'm 37, it feels amazing. We are not a sum of our failures, but how we choose to overcome them.
I shared this video with my patients today. It was such a great conversation that lasted over two hours. Thank you !!!!

@@Daydreamer-fj7ru Its your choice if you want to understand the teacher and adapt to his/her teaching methods... I never liked my math teacher and I was always doing bad. But then I gave her a chance and I focused on her methods, change my attitude and I adapted to her teaching and now I love to go to her class. Maybe there are bad teachers but they just give u what u need to learn, its up to you to do it. Not saying you do bad but for people that feels like school sucks... its really all up to you.

This is so, so powerful, I really needed this. I get stressed, nervous and all emotions like that and hearing this made me beat my best, beat my records, I had D's now I have A+'s, all cause one video, u motivated half the world, u motivated every single person watching this. I was so nervous when I had to do a 5600 metre run and try and win, but this one video made me not third, not second, but first. One video can change one person's life, just believe in yourself believe in others and that might put them in a happy position like yours. The key is believe.

I was 15 when one of my teachers bumped into me one day at school, the look on his face was utter shock & my heart sank when he told me he was surprised that I hadn’t dropped out of school yet. He was surprised because I was a girl who grew up in an environment that told people like me that we should give up on our dreams. Im in senior year now & just got accepted into university with a scholarship. If I had listened back then and add to the stereotypic view that many people of colour & indigenous suffer from due to racially profiling, I wouldn’t have gotten to this place in my life.
For anyone struggling to get through high school, you can do it. Push through those assignments and get yourself that qualification. Don’t let ANYONE ever tell you what you can and cannot do. Break the stereotypes, normalise people of colour and indigenous peoples working in high paying jobs, and having a career in high places within society. I will make it and so will you. I hope to see u at the finish line

I was called stupid, worthless and I was told I wouldn't make it because I'm too stupid and that was from my teachers all throughout my life, honestly, I wanted to end right there but I remembered my dog and I was like I can't leave her she wouldn't know and that made realize that I need to live and make something happen, so I changed.

My math teachers wife has stage 3 cancer and once a week he would have to drive her to appointments for chemo, radiation, etc and most kids hated him because he wasn’t great at teaching, but I just saw him the other day and I felt so sad because I know that he could hear those kids and he has to help his wife walk. He came up to me and said that he was glad to have me in his class because I actually cared. Even if you don’t care, act like you do because you never know what people are going through.
Edit: she passed away a few weeks ago, a few days after her father died

I'm in 7th grade, and I have moderate depression. It made me cry when he was talking about love and his teachers because I hate my teacher. I dread going to school every day because of him. And I feel like all I can do is wait. I feel like I have no power in my life, and I'm miserable. I don't know when my better days will come, but this video reminded me that there is hope. If I can just hold on for now maybe this will make me stronger in the future. Tysm for this speech🙏 I honestly needed it more than I knew.

my friends are going through some really hard times, and so am i. We all kind of handle it differently, one of my friends treats it as a joke, another treats it by turning it into rage, and myself, I don't really like to show it that much. As an 11 year old who’s been having a ton of problems, this really did hit. I’ve always been wondering how the hell will I manage to get past high school, I still think that I won’t achieve that, life itself brings a lot of stress to me to the point I try my best to escape it even if it harms me at the same time. I have gotten a therapist a few months ago but that barely helped me, I tried to lie to myself thinking that I was better but doing that just made it worse, the worst part is I’ve learnt to bottle up my feelings since I was 9 and I also have trust issues so it’s really hard for me to seek help, I just feel trapped and want to escape to somewhere else and I feel like no one will understand me. I know no one is going to read this but I just wanted to let some things out, I really don’t like bottling up my emotions but it feels easier to do so than to explain what I really feel, especially since most of the people I know are also struggling and I don’t want to put more pressure on them
I can relate to you, I also have a lot of problems, it's holidays for me and I can't enjoy cause of it, your not alone, lot's of people can relate to you and I, but it's not gonna be like this forever, things will get better, remember "Your condition is Not your conclusion".

Anyone else feel so stressed and anxious to the point where you ask yourself if your searching for sympathy or it’s an actual serious concept? You then argue with yourself in your head so much, to the point where you just ignore it, you don’t look for help. Then you think hey, I need to find help. But that argument comes up again and it’s just an infinite cycle where you drive yourself insane. In the end you don’t even do anything about it. It just sits there building up until one day. You can’t take it anymore. Nope not the case, you will just go insane and still be stuck in that endless cycle. You also do not want to talk/ confess because you think your just a selfish no good attention seeker. Here you are now, still bottling all that up.

yes! But one day I just cried and my parents asked what is wrong, and I could not really explain, so they decided to take me to a therapist. I know it’s not likely that you always have access to/money for a therapist, but it’s really helping to have someone who i can share all these random thoughts with :)

The thought, they were crazy you know, either good or bad, they still fight each other and I'm just stand in between listen to all the thought, it's just really hard when those thought exist!
Some of the thought told me about all the negative thing, some of the thought just doing the opposite,...There is a lot, I don't even know what to do or chose, try to make myself feel better by encourage myself then the negative thought just push me down again.
It just keep on going like that, feel just like a torture, I'm just get used to it, I don't care anymore or anyone, I'm start to see those thought "another me", talking to myself alot xD

In the past, I'm used to see them in movie and thought they was really cool! Now I'm kinda want to slap past me in the face, they was cool if they not appeal too much, too much would just like being torture.
Nowaday, because of getting used to it, I just start to see them as friends and enemies as the same time, they did have some benefits once you start to getting used to them!
Sometime just think that I'm out of my mind when I never really want to getting rid of them as I'm getting used to them, I'm probably just freak out if they just suddenly disappear and beg them to come back! Having them did make me feel not alone that much I guess...
Tho I think I'm probably like my logic thought better, less annoy and help me throught those two negative and positive thought or other crazy thought :)

I’m an 18 year old high school senior graduating in 15 days. Current status, unhappy and hopeless-though never will I ever consider to un-alive myself.
Looking back at my high school experience, it wasn’t the most lively nor best. Being an underachiever really took a toll on me, top it off with having bad social skills. Socializing was always difficult for me and has held me back a couple of times. I could join clubs, sport team, make friends etc. During lunch I would stand in a corner alone waiting for the bell to dismiss us students back to class. When it gets to academic performance, I’m neither good or bad. I hate failing so getting an F is out of the question but I don’t put enough effort to do great and ace everything. I always do the bare minimum. I have the mindset of “it’s enough as long as I pass.” Not the best mindset to have ever….I am unhappy.
What do I want to do after high school? No clue to be honest. I no longer have the dream job or dream career I always talk about when I was in elementary. Lost my motivation and determination back in middle school. Lost my will to strive at the beginning of high school. Now that I’m getting ready to graduate…I’m hopeless.
I really wish I did things differently from the start. See the difference and changes to the outcome that I have now. No point beating myself up for it since It’s all in the past and there’s nothing I can do about it…It is what it is.
Taking the risk and stepping outside of your comfort zone could sometimes be what you need. I regretted those times where I didn’t…lesson learned.
Typing all of this changed my mood to be honest. I’m glad I came across this video and I’m glad I got to express how I feel on here.
For those starting middle school, high school, or even college and you are feeling scared, unhappy, overwhelmed, hopeless, and so on--I hope this helped change how you feel or think even little.

my teacher just showed us this, and honestly i really needed this. ive been struggling with grades and schoolwork for a while now, and i have gotten grades up but ive been discouraged to do anything due to things happening that affect my mental health, but this video made me feel better about it. i feel like i can easily all bring my grades up in a single day, and that i can actually pass 9th grade with grades that will make myself proud. i finally feel like im worth something

When I was in 8th grade I changed the school. The first time when I walked into the new school was amazing and for the first time I had the feeling: Yes, that is the right school for myself. And it was the right school. For the first time in my life I had teacher's who believed in me and who worked with the students and not against them. I am just incredibly grateful to this school with these teachers.
I started crying at the part where he told us the struggles of the teachers because it made me think that people go through life and experience death, disease, and negativity. Yet they still go on pushing through. Its just so hard to think of all the pain that they must have felt going through all of this.
